Fashion photography has existed since the beginning of photography and was popularized through magazines like Harper's Bazaar and Vogue in the 1960s and 1980s. Adolph de Meyer was one of the earliest and most famous fashion photographers, known for his celebrity portraits in the early 1900s. He became the first photographer for Vogue magazine in 1913. Cecil Beaton also photographed for Vogue and Vanity Fair in the 1920s, in addition to being a diarist, interior designer, and costume designer.
