As a regional manager of specialty leasing for substdlerles of The Rouse Company, I have
had the pleasure of working with Sarah Wenig in her capacity as Entrepreneur's Market
Place Manager at Salem Center, our mall in Salem, Oregon.
With Sarah's arrival in August of 1991, she became responsible for the planning and
implementation of a program intended to bring small businesses into the shopping center,
a new concept for Salem Center and the Salem area. While creating this program she
developed and managed its design, merchandising, marketing, leasing and administrative
functions in support of the shopping center's overall objectives.
In fu/filling these responsibilities, Sarah demonstrated creativity and resou rcefu Iness, a clear
commitment to quaJity, the understanding of the whole center's business and a valuable,
long term perspective. Over the year with us, her accomplishments included an effective
marketing program designed to generate interest from businesses and a targeted
merchandising plan that accurately addressed the center's shoppers. Her work educating
local entrepreneurs resulted in more than 10 business start ups.
Sarah Wenig proved to be a capable manager who has much to contribute to a future
