This document provides an overview of the Romantic movement between 1790-1850. Some key aspects discussed include the rise of individualism and alienation from industrialization. Romantic artists and thinkers rejected Enlightenment ideas and reason, instead valuing emotion and subjectivity. Nature was glorified in artworks from this period. Characteristics of Romanticism included the engaged artist, emphasis on the individual, supernatural themes, and exoticism. Major Romantic works included poetry, novels, and paintings that depicted these ideals. The movement ultimately reinforced both liberal and conservative political ideas across Europe.
We live in connected world -- till the internet connections can be flakey and non-existent. That should not disturb the user experience. "No internet connection" is a network problem and not the application problem.
With Bahmni (http://www.bahmni.org/) an easy to use open source hospital system, when thousands of community health workers were taking the patient data in physical papers (where the internet is not available), we are building offline capabilities for Bahmni. The tablets that the community health workers use are of very low hardware capabilities and we had to take most of the design decisions to enable offline capabilities with these limitations.
The talk is about the importance of "offline first applications", the technologies that enable that to happen, and our design, solution, and methodology -- to enable offline capabilities for Bahmni with the hardware limitations.
I was given the opportunity work alongside the account management and creative team to understand day to day relationship management. I used research tools such as questionnaires and in depth interviews and appropriate methodologies for detailed analysis of the collected data. I secured excellent feedback with a Ist class grade (Distinction), for research methodology used and accuracy of report.

Technology -- the first strategy to startupstechmaddy
As the title suggests, the topic starts with how Strategy is very important differentiator for startups. Followed by a set of examples. The remaining part of the talk involves how many successful startups used Technology as the prime strategy, which made all the difference for them. It also talks on how Technology is not the only Strategy.

David’s painting is the quintessential example of
Neo-Classicism, a style of severe realism, precise
details, and subject matter derived from antiquity.
The subject is based on a story of betrayal, where
three men must fit to the death, and their women
react and mourn. It is a powerful image inspired by
the Revolutionary atmosphere of France.

Voltaire, a NeoClassical writer and philosopher, was
a key element to the shift in power in France during
the French Revolution.
These leaders believed in meritocracy over privilege,
and rule by democracy instead of aristocracy.
Here, Voltaire is portrayed near the end of his life,
wearing a ancient Roman-style toga, symbolizing the
role models of Ancient philosophers like Socrates
and Aristotle.

stunning sculpture of Cupid and Psyche in the

perfection, and the moment depicted is emotional

David returns and becomes a powerful voice for the
Revolution in France. This is an image of a Marat, a
Revolutionist murdered in his bathtub.
He is no longer using ancient Roman references
or styles, but instead leading the way into a new
approach to painting.
This is considered to be one of the first truly
modern paintings, because David is taking the
politics of his day and revealing the horror behind it.

In America, historical paintings were using
contemporary events as their subject. Benjamin
West, an English painter, shows the people wearing
modern clothes instead of ancient costumes, and
the public was initially outraged because they
aren’t wearing Roman costumes. West defined
the contemporary history painting by defying the
Neoclassical tradition.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
