• UPS/NBS/CP TECHNICIAN
• JOB SUMMARY : Perform Routine Maintenance of UPS/NBS/CP equipment.
• Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible to execute and manage all maintenance activities of UPS, NBS, CP equipment
in the field and report to UPS supervisor.
Carry out daily routine works including Preventive and Corrective Maintenance and maintain
appropriate records in the system.
Perform the battery yearly discharge test with external load bank and self battery load test
for some UPS equipment which supply 20% with respect to its connected load.
Execute the installation of UPS, NBS in local control stations and associated power and
control cable systems. Also assist the commissioning engineer of the said equipment.
Maintain all equipment such as Panel Boards, UPS/NBS, Batteries, Cathodic
Protection,Transformer/Rectifier and associated switchboards/distribution panels. Also

2. execute the isolation and de-isolation of the said equipment as required in standard
operating procedure of UPS/NBS equipment.

• Duties and Responsibilities :

Responsible for the maintenance and repair of pipeline equipment such as; station
generator; M.V. transformer and switchgear; medium/low voltage motors & M.V./L.V. Circuit

3. Breaker; Uninterruptible Power Supply(UPS), Solar System and Low voltage DC system
Chargers & Batteries.
Performs the calibration and repair of Motor Operated Valves (MOV) that are associated to
Pumping Station and Line Valve Station.
Directly engaged in troubleshooting and repair on all of the above mentioned equipments.
• Carries out the skilled installation, maintenance and repair of a wide range of low voltage equipment and
associated systems such as generators, motors, transformers, lighting, UPS, rectifiers, batteries, switch gear,
fire fighting systems, control panels and substations.
• Receives incoming work requests and instructions from Supervisor, obtains necessary tools and spare parts
and proceeds to worksite to carry out the job.
• Carries out the skilled electrical fault finding, diagnosis and defect repairs of low voltage equipment,
switch gear, control panels and associated wiring circuits in the assigned plant. Includes examining wiring
and circuit diagrams to trace systems and locate faults and measuring and checking tolerances of wires and
connections.
• Carries out the routine, predictive and preventive maintenance checks on electrical equipment such as low
voltage motors, transformers, turbines, generator equipment, motorised valves, low voltage switch gear,
control panels and relay stations. Includes visual inspection, checking, measuring and details recording,
greasing and tightening of such equipment. Checks for oil leakages, investigates terminal box desiccators for
incorrect colouring and removing and laying out as necessary.
• Carries out electrical maintenance or repair work in assigned location on primary and secondary systems of
low voltage equipment. Includes cleaning and checking various electrical equipment. Carries out various
tests and records readings taken on insulation resistances, breakdown voltages, motor thermal relays and
earth leakage relays, recording readings where applicable.
• Checks battery banks and topping-up electrolite levels. Maintains street and building lighting systems,
through replacement of lamps and starters, repairing circuit faults, checking water heaters, power sockets
and distribution boxes. Maintains the electrical motors of a variety of workshop tools and equipment on
lathes, drills and welding site. Also carries out all electrical activities during plant shutdown.
• Complies with all safety and fire rules and regulations, including the use of protective clothing and
equipment. Maintains worksite in a clean and tidy condition at all times, including removal of wastes and
spillages.
