The Regional Office VII of the Department of Education conducted a 5-day workshop to monitor, evaluate, and adjust their plans for the third quarter of 2012. Technical advisers and division chiefs from various departments attended and gathered reports on accomplishments, issues, and factors affecting performance. Education supervisors facilitated data collection using tools to analyze quantitative and qualitative information. Workshop sessions were held to present the data and proposed recommendations, with the overall regional accomplishment rate of 88.98% reported to the regional director. Division chiefs then presented adjusted work plans for the fourth quarter.

1. RMEPA Workshop for the 3rd Quarter of CY 2012
The Department of Education – Regional Office VII, through the Quality Assurance and
Accountability Division (QAAD), conducted its five-day Regional Monitoring, Evaluation and Plan
Adjustment (RMEPA) Workshop for the Third Quarter (July to September) of Calendar Year 2012 held on
October 8-12, 2012 at the DepED Regional Office VII Conference Room, Sudlon, Lahug, Cebu City.
The workshop was attended by SEMIT technical advisers, Dr. Fannie de Guzman and Dr. Twila
Punzalan, Division Chiefs and Education Program Supervisors from the Curriculum and Learning
Management Division (CLMD), Quality Assurance and Accountability Division (QAAD), Field Effectiveness
Division (FED), Resource Mobilization and Special Programs and Projects Division (RMSPPD), Policy,
Planning and Research Division (PPRD), Training and Development Division (TDD), and Administrative
Division (AD).
RMEPA pre-work activities were done on October 8-9, 2012 to gather reports on physical
accomplishments, balance physical outputs, issues and concerns, and hindering and facilitating factors
of every Regional Office (RO) unit. Tools were given for data collection following the established
standards. QAAD supervisors, Regional Division Chiefs and Internal Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E)
Coordinator in every Division convened and did actual data collection on quantitative and qualitative
information. Each QAAD Education Program Supervisor was given assignment on what RO unit to
facilitate for data gathering, analysis and interpretation using the RMEPA tools: CLMD by Dr. Estela B.
Susvilla, TDD and RMSPPD by Dr. Joy Kenneth S. Biasong, FED by Dr. Eduardo C. Bacaltos, QAAD by Ms.
Rosa H. Cabotaje, PPRD by Ms. Merden L. Bryant, and AD by Mr. Sinfronio R. Thelmo.
Workshop sessions were handled by the QAAD personnel. Session 1 on Quantitative
Information was facilitated by Dr. Estela B. Susvilla, Session 2 on Issues and Proposed Resolutions by Ms.
Merden L. Bryant, Session 3 on Lessons Learned by Ms. Rosa H. Cabotaje, and Session 4 on Proposed
Recommendations for Plan Adjustment by Dr. Joy Kenneth S. Biasong. The actual conduct of the RMEPA
took place for two days on October 10-11, 2012.
Quantitative and qualitative information were presented by the QAAD Chief, Dr. Marcial P.
Degamo, to Director Carmelita T. Dulangon for action. The overall Regional physical accomplishment
rate for the Third Quarter of CY 2012 is 88.98% compared to CY 2012 Second Quarter rate which is
84.54% and CY 2012 First Quarter rate which is 93.20%. On the second day of the RMEPA, Division
Chiefs in the Region also presented their adjusted Division Work Plans for the 4th Quarter of CY 2012.
RMEPA Workshop for the 4th Quarter of Calendar Year 2012 will be scheduled on the second week of
