Potential risks Safeguard
Damage to equipment In order to follow health and safety guidelines and protect
our camera, I established several procedures. For example,
when I filmed my trailer outdoors (woods) I always made
sure I placed the camera safely in a bag. This kept my
camera discrete from the public members and protected it
from and damage or harm. Also when we used the camera
in juxtaposition with the tripod, I always took the
responsibility to make sure it was secure and tightened
properly to the tripod, consequently if I did not complete
this action - the camera would fall out and break.
No real weapons In order to avoid dangerous consequences such as harm
and danger, I used a fake knife whilst filming our trailer
during the murder scene. The purpose of using a fake knife
was to prohibit accidents, for example, our knife was mainly
used in the woods. Animals and little children were present
in the woods it was therefore our responsibility to avoid
accidents and risks to other people.
Filming during certain weather In order to avoid injury and accidents, we checked the
conditions weather forecast before filming our trailer outside due to
the fact that risks of electronic equipment could cause us to
be electrocuted which is seriously dangerous. As a result,
we therefore checked the weather and filmed our trailer
                                 during normal dry weather conditions.
Ethical issues At the beginning of filming my trailer, my friends who are
not media students took part as characters, a villain and a
victim. Participants in the trailer gave informed consent,
without this it is deceiving someone and unethical to post
the video to the internet such as my blogger – as the actors
don’t agree to take part. Subsequently, to avoid back group
characters such as the public we ensured that the woods
were clear before we started filing.
Liquid Before filming our scenes where fake blood was acquired,
we ensured that the fake blood was placed on top of a
plastic bag, in order to prevent it from being splattered
onto our clothes. The purpose of this was to ensure health
                                 and safety.
