The study evaluated the Hon Cardiodynamic Monitoring System's ability to differentiate true labor from false labor by assessing hemodynamic changes in the peripheral microcirculation of 22 contracting pregnant women. All 12 women in true labor showed cycling of hemodynamic parameters with contractions, while 8 of 10 in false labor showed no cycling. The system had a sensitivity of 100% and specificity of 80% in detecting true labor. The study suggests the system may help providers determine if a patient is in true or false labor.
