Persuasive Essay About The Superhero
Growing up we often find ourselves talking about realistic and fictional heroes at some point in
our lifetime. Most of us can remember being asked questions like who s your favorite superhero or
if
you could be a superhero which would you choose. Those were always hard questions to me
because my interest at the time consisted of watching the latest Hannah Montana episodes.
Although I never
went out of my way to watch or read about the fictional superheroes, I knew things like what kind
of powers they had and how their costume looked. I never based my opinion on their actual
character
and their mission as a hero. Avoiding the names like Superman and Batman was nearly impossible.
They were on t shirts, book bags, and even took up a whole aisle in the toy section at our local
grocery store. Just recently I started watching the superhero movies like Captain America: The First
Avenger and Iron Man. Unlike the others, there was a connection I had in the beginning with the
characters because before they transformed into the superhero that is known today, we met the
person
underneath the costume and became familiar with their imperfections and strengths as a normal
human
being like you and me. As the viewers, we develop different expectations superheroes should meet,
like their powers, their costume, and even their characters personality. We could change who we are
to
be like those seen in the movies or simply find the superhero in us. Captain America and

Multimedia Big Data Analysis Framework For Semantic...
%chapter{Conclusions and Future Work} chapter{CONCLUSIONS AND FUTURE WORK}
label{chapter:Conclusions} section{Conclusions} In this dissertation a multimedia big data
analysis framework for semantic information management and retrieval is presented. It contains
three coherent components, namely multimedia semantic representation, multimedia concept
classification and summarization, and multimedia temporal semantics analysis and ensemble
learning. These three components are seamlessly integrated and act as a coherent entity to provide
essential functionalities in the proposed information management and retrieval framework. More
specifically: egin{itemize} item A novel correlation based feature analysis method is presented to
derive HCFGs for multimedia semantic retrieval on mobile devices. The proposed framework
explores the mutual information from multiple modalities by performing correlation analysis for
each feature pair and separating the original feature set into different HCFGs by using the affinity
propagation algorithm at the feature level. Then, a novel fusion scheme is proposed to fuse the
testing scores from selected HCFGs to obtain optimal performance. Finally, an iPad application is
developed based on our proposed system with a user feedback processing system to refine the
retrieval results. item A hierarchical disaster image classification scheme based on textual and
visual information fusion is proposed for enhancing disaster situation reports with

A Single Under Cabinet Light
A single under cabinet light in the kitchen provided all of the light in this part of the house. It
was a small but orderly place the area around the front door was lower and still slightly damp
from when she had come in. It entered directly into a modest carpeted living area, with carpet and
couches on the right, and a kind of lounge on the left, separated from the kitchen further back by a
counter. A path in the middle lead further towards a narrow hallway, with doors on the left and
right, the latter of which was to the room she had used. There was nothing on the walls besides
heavy blue curtains which hung almost floor to ceiling. The chair she currently occupied was soft,
clearly not new but clean and in good repair.

She evened it out, pushing it out of the window, bringing the temperature of the house down again.
There was something else in another room, the one at the end of the hall.
It was regular consistent, like a sphere. Soft all the way through. She shuffled further back into the
chair and concentrated. It was consistent on the outside, but inside it was something else, some kind
of element or maze of elements. It was inaccessible, visible only through faint densities rolling
outward from the center, there was some kind of insulation around it. Inside, it was complex, the
heat was moving through the elements in strange paths. It was not arbitrary, there was a pattern or
patterns quick, rapid, then pulsed, then broken up, representations of something else. Inside, the
further in she went, the hotter it was, much too hot, it seemed to twist. She tugged at the heat, but it
remained stubborn; the boundaries of its pattern made more clear by her attempts to influence it. It
held at fixtures, remained constant within tolerances. She tugged again, suppressing one of the
strange elements, and the heat reacted, redirected but the redirection was physical, mechanical, it
was a physical readjustment, not mechanical one. She drew back, and the element returned to its
prior state.
The heat did not flow down, the floor beneath the source was almost as cool as the rest of the
house. She searched deeper, but nothing else revealed itself, until, lit

Good Cover Letters
When I decided to reenter the workforce and began the tedious and gut wrenching task of
sending out resumes and good cover letters for resumes to every employer I could think of, I
quickly realized my hard work and tenacity were not getting me very far. I am a pretty decent
writer, and I thought my good cover letters for resumes were truly works of art. I was sure I would
get at least an interview for each and every one of these beauties.
But I was barely getting even so much as a courtesy confirmation that my good cover letters for
resumes were being received in the appropriate HR mailbox, much less an interview.
I dug into every contact I had, and twisted a few arms to get early heads up on any one retiring, or
being fired. I canoodled ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is a sad reality in the corporate world where they still think they want one person per task,
instead of sharing the work load as a creative collaborative effort. So for my good cover letters for
resumes to really have the desired effect: (get me an interview) I needed to narrow their focus a bit.
You need to sound less fancy when writing your good cover letters for resumes.
What? This threw me for a loop. But she explained: My writing was in fact great. I had a very
extensive vocabulary and my sentences were complex and interesting.
Unfortunately this was not a good thing. In fact it was hurting my good cover letters for resumes
for two reasons, both of which are silly but true:
1. It makes me sound like an insufferable prig. Certainly not the impression you want your good
cover letters for resumes to leave.
2. The managers I am applying with are likely less verbal, and might feel threatened if they were to
hire someone they viewed as possibly smarter than they are.
I found this last one a bit far fetched, but she assured me that while many managers realize the
value of having people on your team with better skills than your own, just as many are insecure and
would fret that they might eventually be replaced by a superior individual they themselves had

Homecoming Narrative
It was a cool september day when I stood in front of my mirror in my bedroom waiting to get
ready. I had been anticipating this day for as long as I could remember now. It was my first year
in high school and I still felt the rush of being a little freshman that had no idea what she was
doing. So of course the nerves of homecoming set in, being around so many upperclassmen all in
one place seemed so scary. For some reason though those weren t the thoughts going through my
head anymore. I was full of fear that I would have to go through so many days like this one in the
next four years of high school.
My father had been gone seven years now, and my mom four. I was so confused as to why I was so
upset on this day when I had already gone through ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I thought about today and my homecoming dress and the dance and how anxious I had been for
so long and somehow all of the excitement was decreasing. I knew my parents wouldn t want me to
feel this way, because they wanted me to still live a normal and happy life without them.
I can remember the things my mom would tell me before she passed away,
You and your sister are going to have each other and that is all that matters, you are strong princess
and you will do great things in life
I thought about my mother saying this to me and I suddenly remembered who I was and the kind
of person I have always been without my parents. Rather than weakness I have always found
strength. Strength that there is a plan for everything and that everything has to happen for a reason.
Strength that my parents were watching over me and still there in my heart. Strength that even
though I no longer had my two best friends in my life I had my sister, my grandmother, my aunt,
and so many other people in my life supporting me. Today I found strength though in how proud
my parents would be in me. They would be so proud of how far I have come without them even
though it doesn t seem fair that they are

Guidelines Of Guidelines On Policy Rules
Policy Rules For the purposes of being in line with my legal and ethical responsibilities, I would
construct my policy for sharing information with students by FERPA guidelines. While I would
allow the release of information in following FERPA regulations, I would strongly advise for
counselors to still be mindful when releasing information. I would suggest that they only release
information with their upmost discretion and for circumstances where not only FERPA permits,
but that it also seems to be of benefit for the student. As many of the guidelines state, the schools
may release information in certain circumstances, but they do not have to. This is what I would
relay to my counselors.
Directly Releasing Information Directory information. The first policy rule would be that
counselors may release directory information if the student has been informed of the school s
ability to release that information and has not submitted a written objection. If the student has been
made aware of the type of information that the school determines to be directory and did not notify
the school that he or she did not agree to the release, then this directory information may be
released. However, I would still advise counselors to use their discretion and note if releasing this
information to parents would actually benefit the student. If it will not, then I would advise against
releasing the information. I would also encourage my counselors to always consult with FERPA
when they are

A Reflection On The Church Of Santa Rosa
I went to the Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Santa Rosa, California. The church is
located in the old movie theater in downtown Santa Rosa. I parked in a nearby parking garage,
grateful for the free parking on Sunday, and walked down the street toward the church. I knew
that I had arrived at the correct place because of the large granite sign with the name Unitarian
Universalist Congregation Santa Rosa. There were many people standing outside talking to one
another. I was immediately greeted by a church member who welcomed me and showed me to
the main entrance. As I walked through the door, I noticed a rainbow flag above the main
entrance, and could not help but begin thinking of the differences between this church and the
one I was raised in. The first thing I noticed as I entered the first room was the pictures on the
walls. They were not of gods or deities, but of ethnic minorities who had lived in the local
community and had a positive impact. Underneath each photo was a brief description of who the
photo represented. I continued walking down the main hall and it ended in a large semi circular
room with a kitchen nook in one corner. They had many chairs available chairs and tables to sit
and socialize. Another friendly church member approached me, noticing a new face in the
congregation, and asked if I was new. After I briefly explained why I was there, he told me that he
was one of the reverends and had just finished conducting the nine o clock service. He

The Board Of Overseers, Ladies And Gentlemen Essay
Devin thomas
Mr. President, Dr. Conant, members of the Board of Overseers, Ladies and Gentlemen:
I am profoundly grateful, touched by the great distinction and honor and great compliment
accorded me by the authorities of Harvard this morning. I am overwhelmed, as a matter of fact,
and I am rather fearful of my inability to maintain such a high rating as you ve been generous
enough to accord to me. In these historic and lovely surroundings, this perfect day, and this very
wonderful assembly, it is a tremendously impressive thing to an individual in my position.
But to speak more seriously, I need not tell you that the world situation is very serious. That must
be apparent to all intelligent people. I think one difficulty is that the problem is one of such
enormous complexity that the very mass of facts presented to the public by press and radio make it
exceedingly difficult for the man in the street to reach a clear appraisement of the situation.
Furthermore, the people of this country are distant from the troubled areas of the earth, and it is
hard for them to comprehend the plight and consequent reactions of the long suffering peoples of
Europe and the effect of those reactions on their governments in connection with our efforts to
promote peace in the world.
In considering the requirements for the rehabilitation of Europe, the physical loss of life, the visible
destruction of cities, factories, mines, and railroads was correctly estimated, but it has become

Fad Diet Essay
FAD Diets A fad diet is a diet that promises fast weight loss through unhealthy and unbalanced
meals, they are targeted for people who manly want to lose fat without exercising and it s not
good for your body. There are many types of fad diets and i m gonna start with one the the most
dangerous, the tapeworm diet. The tapeworm diet was created by Dr. Meyers of Sheffield and it
started to be advertised in the early 1900 s. During the process of this diet, you are digesting
tapeworm eggs and it grows in your stomach and basically crawls around eating all the food you
have consumed and you are losing weight at the same time. This can be very dangerous because
it could go to other parts of your body through the blood system and can cause abdominal pain,
weakness, headache, nausea, diarrhoea, constipation, bloating and even death. To me it is totally
disgusting and just not worth it. The tapeworm diet is thankfully illegal in the US and you
usually get the tapeworm eggs in a bottle commonly found in Mexico for $1500. Back then they
were usually advertised using posters saying No diet, no baths, no exercise. FAT the enemy that
is shortening your life BANISHED. How? With sanitized tapeworms jar packed This whole diet
is called unhealthy for many reasons, it is extremely risky, after the tapeworm is gone people are
most likely going to gain all the weight back they lost because of unhealthy eating habits, you are
not eating healthy or exercising so it s not good for your

Black Boy And Interpreter Of Maladies
To develop a profound understanding of a society, one must analyze the two key aspects of
civilization: the people themselves and their values. In Richard Wright s Black Boy and Jhumpa
Lahiri s Interpreter of Maladies, alienation creates a platform to better understand society s
assumptions and moral values. In these texts, multiple characters suffer from isolation due to
gender, race, class, or beliefs. Throughout the works, readers encounter the shallow and unforgiving
nature of society through characters who face poverty, racism, and cultural adjustment. The
characters in Lahiri s work, Interpreter of Maladies, exemplify the struggle for assimilation, a key
factor which drives many to isolation. In the short story When Mr. Pirzada Came... Show more

In this assignment we are given to topics to choose from of the lesson: Caregiving. Caregiving is
very important today in our families everyday life because we have all been cared for from when
we were younger and till we are older. But there seems to be controversy about caregiving today for
many Canadian Families, Many families are facing troubles with income looking for child care
and as well as elderly care. The topic i am interested to talk about is childcare, Today there is not
enough places that can take children because there are so full and not only that expensive. Now a
days parents get on a list just before their child is even born. Alot has been taken into consideration
and tried to figure out a better solution to help fix this... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although there are many financial challenges but there are also community challenges canadian
families face for child care. Some challenges i feel would be are that those who are new comers to
canada, immigrants, who experience canadas most inequality need a good family policy but as well
as child care. When a family that is immigrated from a foreign country for say, need to be
brought up in some sort of learning atmosphere to gain social, educational and good work habits
with other children and families in the community. Child care is one of the most stressful
aspects in a families life sometimes because it takes away the parents time to work and or study
because they have to worry about their child. It s important for a child to be in a safe and a well
educational childcare that focuses on social skills, working skills, emotional skills as well as
physical skills. Those who simply can t afford the right child care suffer because those who can t
be taught these life skills are most likely not going to succeed in life. Community challenges are
frightening but so are emotional challenges. Emotional challenges i feel families suffer with is
when their child is not in the right form of child care. If their child is in a bad enviorment where
there adult whether its a teacher or babysitter, if there is no good attention or help to the

Reconstruction In The Reconstruction Era
In 1865, the Civil War came to an end. It was a disaster to the South with plantations burned,
towns destroyed, fields neglected, and railroads and bridges ruined. Because of this, many white
southerners were homeless and faced starvation. Most importantly, millions of slaves were free
because of the Emancipation of Proclamation, but people didn t know what to do with so many
freedmen suddenly, and the African Americans had no idea how to make a living for themselves.
Many of them roamed around the countryside, sleeping on the bare ground, and all they had were
the clothes they wore. Because of these disarrays and disruptions in the South, political leaders,
such as Abraham Lincoln, Andrew Johnson, and the radical Republicans all proposed plans to help
solve the problems of rights of freedmen, readmission of southern states, and land ownerships in the
South. Although reconstruction policies changed the rights of African Americans by granting black
men suffrage and allowing them to gain education, they continued to experience racial violence just
as before the reconstruction period. Furthermore, the South continued to remain primarily agrarian
as shown by the system of sharecropping. With the help of the Republican leaders and organizations
such as the Freedmen s Bureau, African Americans were able to gain the right to vote and to
receive education. Prior to the reconstruction era, African Americans in the south were bound to
their master; they had no right to earn

The Education Of Malcolm X Essay
Literacy is power. Being taught to read and write is important to function in society. You learn to
read and write to express your feelings and communicate with others. Frederick Douglass and
Malcom X both succeeded in learning how to read and write, but in different ways. The education
of Malcolm X was learned more formally. Frederick Douglass learned from his surroundings and
the people around him. Malcom and Frederick battled in reading and writing, but learned in similar
and different ways. During the 1960s, Malcolm Xwas one of many articulate and powerful leaders
of black America. Before he was a street hustler and spent seven years in prison, where he
educated himself. Before this time, he was almost completely illiterate. He describes how he could
hardly compose a sentence with a straight line or correctly articulates words, let alone read and
write. Not being able to express his thoughts and feelings in the letters he wrote inspired him to
educate himself. Malcolm then became one of the leading spokesman for African American
separatism. Unlike Malcom X Frederick Douglass escaped to New York, where he became a
leader in the abolitionist movement. Frederick was born a slave and couldn t read or write at all.
His mistress was teaching him how to read and write but suddenly was against instructing him so
he had to be strategically deceptive to learn. Despite of their horrible backgrounds, these two men
acquired how to read and write. On the other hand, you would

Golden Knights Essay Topics
Local Fanbase
Capitalize on Initial Excitement
As the Golden Knights prepare for their first season, it is vital that they capitalize on the
excitement of being the first professional sports team in Las Vegas. This entails selling enough
tickets to fill the arena and creating a buzz in the city to get people to start following the team
and becoming fans. If they can t create enough interest in the team during our first few years, it
will create a bad first impression and they will likely struggle for fan interest for a long time.
Therefore, they need to focus on establishing a strong presence in the city and build pride for the
team and city of Las Vegas.
As the first professional sports team in Las Vegas, the Golden Knights have the opportunity to
become Vegas main team before the city gets other professional teams. While Las Vegas is known

Victory Motorcycle
Victory Motorcycles is a motorcycle manufacturer based in Spirit Lake, Iowa, United States, which

as passionate as I ve ever seen on any product (Harley Davidson). To sell against an image is very,
very difficult, and that was my biggest concern. To sell against an image, and what some would
call a life style, is where Polaris would have their greatest challenge. They could not just equal
Harley Davidson in competition, because they weren t competing against just a motorcycle.
Polaris was competing against Harley s American motorcycle image. To compete with an
established reputation, Polaris would have to be better than Harley. They would have to
outperform, out handle, and be the best in class. This challenge would be a tall order, and would
require Polaris to execute this plan in cost savings mode. Polaris did have advantages in having
several different product lines, good quality control and loyal customers. And as Polaris
management team knew, customers aren t loyal to your product if you have poor quality control.
This would mean that Parks team would have to determine the best way to reduce costs without
cutting corners in quality. Polaris would have to be careful about what it outsourced, and what it
vertically integrated into their operation in the interest of

Characteristics Of Jay In The Great Gatsby
My life has got to be like this, it s got to keep going up (Fitzgerald). It is this kind of attitude

Gatsby is great because of his determination, independence, and imagination.
When Gatsby meets Daisy, he is in love at first sight. Jay is in military training at Camp Taylor

Willy Loman Hallucinations
Literature has often been used to explain problems within society. This can be seen in Arthur
Miller s play Death of a Salesman. Arthur Miller s play was set in the late 1940 s in a post World
War II economy. Willy and Linda Loman and their two sons: Biff and Happy, live in Brooklyn,
New York and are the main characters. Death of a Salesmandiscusses the life of Willy and the
struggles he goes through everyday. Willy Loman is a suicidal man, whom searches for reasoning
within the world. In Arthur Miller s play Willy Loman often has hallucinations about life when he
was a young man. Along with his hallucinations, Willy is very paranoid, constantly feeling that life
is very unfair and that someone is out to get him. Some see these symptoms and believe that Willy
has a mental disorder. Within this time period mental illness was not to be spoken about or
acknowledged. Due to the hallucinations, the voices within Willy s head, and his suicidal thoughts
one may see Willy Loman as a schizophrenic. Many people whom have schizophrenia have

I read the chapter The Newcomers , the book first starts off by stating how France started
sending explorers to find new lands. When Francis I, (The king of France) sent Jacque Cartier,
his job was to find a shipping route and precious gems and metals. Jacque Cartier arrived at
Newfoundland and from there journeyed down to Prince Edward Island. Chief Donnacona went
with his brother and two sons protest the cross, but the French convinced Donnacona to allow
Jacque Cartier to take his two sons Domagaya and Taignoagny. Donnacona told stories to ward

Genotype Lab
To determine the genotype of the members in my group and the class with regards to the
TAS2R38 and LCT genes, first, DNA was extracted from epithelial cells to be used for PCR to
amplify the DNA of the targeted loci. Then, restriction enzyme digestion was performed to cut the
DNA into fragments in order to perform Restriction Length Polymorphism Analysis to decipher the
different lengths. Differing lengths of the DNA accounts for different alleles on that specific gene,

According the the results presented above, neither the LCT or the TAS2R38 loci are in Hardy
Weinberg equilibrium, therefore supporting our initial hypothesis that neither loci would be in
equilibrium. For the LCT gene, the heterozygous genotype, CT, was underrepresented based on the
expected outcome of 97 individuals compared to the actual observed 79 individuals. Similarly, the
heterozygous genotype, Tt, for the TAS2R38 gene was underrepresented based on the expected
outcome of 91 individuals compared to the actual observed 72 individuals. For the population to not
be in equilibrium, it is likely the population violates the five conditions required for the Hardy
Weinberg Principle. The five conditions include, no mutation, random mating, infinite population
size, no gene flow, and no selection. Of the five, non random mating and gene flow could affect the
genotype frequencies in the short term, for example, the length of the experiment. The population
that was tested consists of only one generation, therefore the class is just a mixture of genotypes
rather than a mating population that is producing gametes, therefore the non random mating
assumption is violated. There was no record of individuals migrating into or out of the class,
therefore gene flow is not a

The Rugrats Analysis
Over half of Americans, 63.8% to be exact, feel they are not equally represented in the media
(Horton 1). Being a kid and not truly knowing what to believe in when everything portrayed on
the media is confusing can lead to segregation, delusion, and low self esteem. While it is the
child s job to tell people what to display, the media is everyone s tool and what is showed should
reflect a large amount of the population. However, other countries do not have this problem, as
they excel in the varied media world. In India especially, where a sizeable 94% feel represented

television shows. While the portrayal of cartoons for children in America is... Show more content on

India integrated equality into television a long time ago as their children have been brought up
with a sense of diversity. Whereas in America, television is an exact product of what the

with the negative results of lost identity. India is combing races fluently into television and
hopefully the rest of the world will too. If over half of the country cannot feel represented in
America, but its population is so diverse why does television fail to display all races? The answer

Paul s Letter To Shilemon
The book of Philemon is one of Paul letters that seems to me best describe God mercy for
humanity. As I read the story, it gives me a good perspective of understanding on Paul emphasis
on Jesus as our advocate. I also understand why Jesus has to die as a sacrifice on the cross and the
penalty of my sins. Jesusdeath is the price that I consider paid to restore my life from being a
slave of sins. Paul s letter to Philemon is a complete picture of the gospel that every Christian
believer should learn from and apply in the community.
According to the historical background of the book of Philemon, Paul wrote this letter
approximately A.D.60 when Paul s first imprisonment in Rome. It was probably the time Paul wrote
the letters to the Ephesians ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, in Philemon 7, Paul spoke of the way Philemon had lovingly refreshed the hearts
of other believers. Paul thought so highly of Philemon that in verse 17 he talked about Philemon
as his partner in gospel ministry. And it may even be that in verse 2 Paul identified Philemon as
the host of the local church. According to verse 19, Philemon seems to have had a significant
history with Paul that formed a strong bond between them. In all likelihood, Paul meant that he
had brought Philemon to faith, although it is also possible that he had saved Philemon s life in
some other way. But whatever the case, Philemon owed Paul a high debt. We can also see the
strength of their relationship in Philemon s prayers for Paul s release from prison, and in Paul s
plan to lodge with Philemon after being released from prison. We read Paul s words to this effect in
Philemon 22: Prepare a guest room for me, because I hope to be restored to you in answer to your
prayers (Philemon 22).
Paul addressed the matter in the letter with kindness and a humble attitude. Paul s attitude and the
respect that he has for Onesimus allowed him to consider Onesimus as a spiritual son rather than a
slave. Paul and Onesimus relationship is to me a setting example for the church. It illustrates how
Christian believers should live in a community and help each other without any

Fiction and Reality Collide Through Corruption
Long before George Orwell wrote 1984, a man by the name of Lord Acton wrote, Power tends to
corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Orwell expresses a similar sentiment regarding the
future of political powers, more specially totalitarianism. A totalitarian society is a government that
is overruled by one major power, or person. Although the dystopian novel is merely fiction, Orwell
created it as a warning and expression of fears about totalitarianism. Big Brother resembled Adolf

In a totalitarian society, intelligence of individuals threatens the power of the ruling individual.
As a means of preventing defeat through intelligence, the government relies heavily on
deception and distortion of information. Although the Nazis were mainly known for killing
Jews, Homosexuals, and disabled, they also were known to oppress the educated, as well. Any
intellectuals opposing the Nazi Party were either deported or murdered. Those who remained

Truman website, the 5th most popular president of all time. Truman played a big part in ending
World War II and beginning the Cold War. He was elected in 1945, after the death of Franklin D.

When the drivers are not giving out rides they are welcome to sit around at the warehouse or do as
they please. Nick is usually there in the mornings to communicate and be around if anyone needs

What type of incentives do you give your workers?
Since the employee s job does not allow them to work up the ladder, Nick had motivated them by
providing a raise to the workers that show top performance. To earn a raise the employee must
always be reliable and show up when they are on the schedule. If Nick notices that a particular
employee is getting large amounts of tips, then he will ask that specific worker if he wants to
come into work earlier so that he has the bigger advantage of making more money. Many
employees walk the poverty line and can be a little needier than other workers, so it is important
to Nick to let the workers know when they are doing a good job and give them more confidence at
what they do.
What do you find some of the most common miscommunication issues with your customers?
There are not too many miscommunications. The party bus has a form that the customer must fill

Essay on Economic Repercussions of Tourism in the Caribbean
Economic Repercussions of Tourism in the Caribbean
The tourism industry is one of the largest contributors to the world
GDP. It employs millions worldwide and provides a livelihood for nations and individuals alike.
Focussing on a more specific economy the economy of the Caribbean a similar picture emerges.
Much of the population has found employment in industries directly related to tourism and many
more have done so in industries indirectly related to tourism. Albeit, there lurks a reality that defies
this rosy illusion.
The adverse effects of tourism on the economy are many and significant. In the long run, few clear
advantages are visible. For countries of the Caribbean, that support their total national revenue ...

Since the islands rely so heavily upon the flow of capital from the tourist sector, they can easily be
devastated financially if even the slightest natural phenomena occur. Volcanoes and hurricanes two
common and well known natural disasters are quite frequent in the Caribbean, owing to the
physical geography of the regions. Such events can easily deter potential tourists and sent the
economy into a downward spiraling recession, amplifying the challenge of recovery.
The increased demand for goods that ensues subsequent to the establishment of tourism as the
primary contributor to national income leads to an unprecedented demand for products and
services. And as according to the dictates of the laws of supply and demand, as inflation beings to
skyrocket, the purchasing power parity of individuals plummets. This imbalance between an
extremely high aggregate demand and a relatively inelastic aggregate supply (in part due to the
short time frame) places locals in a difficult position.
High costs of living necessitate drastic changes in traditional lifestyles and often lead to poverty;
these events in turn result in even greater social and economic chaos.
Unlike the development of high tech industries by public and private sector contributions, heavy
investment in tourism yields few other advantages, especially in digital communications networks.

Jim is a black, six and a half foot tall sailor seeking a room from Olaf, a porter who is five feet

Ordovician Extinction Research Paper
Are we on the brink of a sixth mass extinction? Many say yes, but there is also hard evidence
saying no. Nonetheless, scientists can prove five mass extinctions in history. The first mass
extinction happened roughly around 445 million years ago. It was named the Ordovician
Extinction. The species affected were known as Graptolite, which are different types of sea
creatures. Their demise on Earthlasted around only one million years. Around sixty to seventy
percent of the species disappeared, and now the remaining species have evolved into something
new. The extinction was likely because of a short and dangerous ice age, or the formation of the
Appalachian mountains. It was likely that glaciers formed over the oceans and caused the sea
levels to rapidly drop, killing the species.
The second mass extinction happened to sea creatures once again. Somewhere between 375 360
million years ago, fluctuations of the sea levels in the ocean caused a large portion of Earth s
species to disappear. Another cause would be the changes in climate change, asteroid strikes, or new
land plants. Some theories suggest that oxygen depletions in shallow waters caused the Devonian
Extinction. Other theories say that algae ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Sight Word Bingo Game Analysis

Before starting the game of Bingo, the teacher reviewed some of the trickier sight words such as
funny and play. Then the teacher instructed the students to do their best to search for the word. It
was evident they were familiar with the game because they set aside bingo chips and were
prepared to play. As the game began, the children were excited, but were able to keep up to find
each word called. After about two or three rounds, a student called out, BINGO! If a student won a
round they flipped their card around and played another round with different words. This was an
effective way to have the students who have already won, still play the game. The game s
purpose was to review and implement new sight words that the students were expected to know
such as the word that `. When a student called out BINGO, they needed to read their words to the
class, which also assessed the child s fluency and accuracy of reading the words by sight.

It is important to treat others the way that you as the individual would want to be treated. Most
individuals lose sight of their job and lack compassion. Going far and beyond the call of duty to
place a smile on someone face and make a world of difference. Some types of quality that we
find in healthcare is clinical and customer care. Clinical care measures how well, efficient, and
safe of the quality that is being given. Customer care is how well the patient or individual is being
treated. Whether it is by how they are being spoken too or how much respect is being shown to
them. There are many nursing homes in Louisiana. One of the nursing homes that is located in
Louisiana with very low quality is Basile Care Center. Basile Care Center nursing home is located in
Basile, Louisiana . It is a for profit corporation. Heritage Manor of Franklinton accepts Medicare
and Medicaid. The nursing home is a 78 bed facility with 51 residents., which offers a variety of
services besides long term care. The overall quality of Basile Care Center ranks pretty low when
placed on a scale of stars. Basile Care center has a rank of one star out of five stars. Basile Care

Impact of Technology on the Animation Industry Essay
Impact of Technology on the Animation Industry
In 1988, the live action and animation hybrid Who Framed Roger Rabbit introduced a whole new
way of making animation movies (Elkins, 2003). The three dimensional rendering and the
interaction between live actors, animated figures and environment was revolutionary at that time
(Elkins, 2003). Three years later, in 1991, Beauty and the Beast was an Oscar nominee for best
picture, which showed how popular this genre had become (Elkins, 2003). Since then, rapid
technological changes have improved the quality of animation movies. The use of computers sat a
new standard for animating, with the first computer animated feature released less than ten years
ago (DreamWorks, 2004). This essay... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is not possible to rush art, as they argue, and the process goes through several stages before the
movie is finished. After the art department has added colour and visual looks on figures and
surfaces, three dimensional models are made on computers. This is done by either creating a
sculpture which is scanned or by direct modeling using computer software. Hinges are added to
move the figures, and a character like Woody in Monster Inc. has as much as a hundred hinges in
his face. After the models are made, they are dressed, to make a proper visualization. When making
the shots, virtual cameras are used to record different scenes. Without the aid of the new technology,
it would be impossible to achieve the same results.
After the decision has been made on which virtual camera shot to use, the figures are animated to
create the scene (Pixar, 2004a). At Pixar, they do not paint or draw the figures in the final stage, but
use the ones already made. By using the hinges, the figures are controlled like puppeteers, creating
movement and different emotions. This provides the movie makers with options they would not
have without the new technology. Then, shadows and lighting are added, before the information is
put together to a film in a computer system. This process adds motion blur to the animation. Each
frame of 1/24 seconds screen time takes at least six hours of processing,

Contributions Of The Vikings, Polynesians, And The...
The Vikings, Polynesians, and the Phoenicians explored vast areas around the world. They were
motivated to trade and conquest areas of the unknown. These groups of people traveled without
any modern technology and they still managed to arrive in hard to reach places around the
globe. Many people wonder what motivated these talented explorers to discover and create what
they did. The Phoenicians traveled to places such as, Spain, Africa, and Scilly Isles. They
explored places that were beyond the traditional safe limits in the Mediterranean and into the
Atlantic. The Phoenicians were driven to trade things for silver in Spain, Africa s wide variety
of gold, and tin from Scilly Isles. These people were also credited with the achievements of many
new nautical inventions. Their life was full of exploring new places, and that benefitted their
people very much. Exploration was the reason for many new advancements in this time. Masters
of the sea, is the name given to the Phoenicians for their ability to push beyond the limits of
traditional exploration. They were able to explore the seas with their ships built out of cedar
wood logs. The Phoenicians were famed in antiquity for their ship building skills, and they were
credited with inventing the keel, the battering ram on the bow, and caulking between planks. (cite

Benefits And Benefits Of Ultrasound Technology Essay
Introduction: The Advantages and Inconveniencies of Ultrasound Technology The delivery of the
portable compact ultrasound technology in India proposes a significant potential health benefit to
millions suffering from painful or potentially life threatening diseases, such as breast cancer,
gallbladder, and pancreas illnesses. Ultrasound is nontoxic, noninvasive and does not use ionizing
radiation. The ultrasound equipment has the potential to increase efficacy and early detection in
diverse medical fields such as anesthesia delivery, cardiac surgery, sports medicine, and emergency
medicine. An ultrasound is uniquely powerful in that it is the only imaging technology that can be
transported to a patient or used where a patient might most urgently need it. The ultrasound can be
utilized on the side of a road after a serious motor accident or in remote communities, as well as,
traveling to reach a health center. When considered this massive scope of medical applications,
along with the universal necessity for imaging equipment among the country and borough
population in India. The evidence shows why India s ultrasound market poses both a significant
business and public health opportunity. An important ethical issue that General Electric Healthcare
faced when implementing its strategies to introduce diagnostic equipment to developing countries
was the problem of female feticide in countries such as China and India. In regards to the

Subsistence Agriculture vs. Industrial-Style Animal Farming
Contrast subsistence agriculture and industrial style animal farming. Subsistence farming is the
most basic of farming methods where a small plot of land is cultivated by an individual, a family
or a community just to feed their hungry mouths. All the produce is consumed by the family and
not intended for sale outside. The experts believe that this kind of farming is almost primeval and
needs to change quickly to the industrialized mode all over the world, if abject poverty and famine
are to be eradicated. Several factors have worked against the success of implementation, and they
are not only technology related, but social, educational, economic, and political, as well. Many
feminist voices have however, preferred to support the existing method of subsistence farming for
the harmony and relationship that it fostered among the people, with an argument that human
relationships, ecology and togetherness are more important than wealth (Shiva, 1989). In this
perspective, subsistence farming does not contribute to economic growth or capital accumulation
or even labor specialization. Since funds are limited to buy chemical fertilizers, most produce are
organic and genetically modified seeds are never used here (Roosevelt, 2007, Wright, 2007). You
will learn from history that subsistence farming existed in Southeast Asia, Sub Saharan Africa,
South and Central America. Over the years; take the example of British colonized Kenya. Many

Thus people have no time to maintain their physical health. Overseas students who are studying in

Walt Disney
Most of us know Walt Disney as the creator of Mickey mouse and the Disney Land, but his impact
on entertainment industry goes way beyond cartoons and theme parks, Disney changed our world
all together.
Walt Disney, a Chicago boy who took Hollywood by storm, changed family entertainment. Not
only was he the first to make full length animated films, but he did so with critical acclaim and
financial success. Few other films that are thirty to forty years old can still play nationwide in
movie theatres or sell hundreds of thousands of video copies. The work of Walt Disneycontinues

Love And Vengeance
Portrayal of Love Vengeance in Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni s
The Palace of Illusions
Is the desire for vengeance stronger than the longing to be loved?
Love and vengeance are two emotions that have an astounding level of control on us. However
which is a stronger driving force remains questionable. Love without fear and spite is the most
powerful human emotion; and still, it can be easy to slip back into an old way, a jealous rage, a
resistance or belief that one isn t worthy. Though it s a hard feeling to pinpoint, it s presence can
be felt in everyone s life. It is a practice like most of one s life lessons, and it can be abundant if one
sticks with it and expels the darkness from their heart and mind. Rightly said by Divakaruni ... Show

She understood that perhaps they loved her but as a man they loved the notion of honour, of loyalty
towards each other and reputation more than her suffering. Then she decides that she will
remember the lesson taught to her and will use it to take revenge, no matter what its price. The
questions Draupadi raises, the things she resists and the emotions which drive her strengths in her
discourse all leave us, inquisitively, questioning our reception and reading of the Mahabharata. The
distinctness of Draupadi s narrative stands with the fact that Draupadi s feministic retelling, which
is somewhat a modern rendering fits into the plot of Mahabharata. Draupadi s story is more close
to humanised rendering, her anger, resentment, and suppressed desire make her one like us. She
develops a concern for the role of women which is distinctly modern and contemporary.
The Palace of Illusions is a story of vengeance. Panchaali s father vowed to avenge himself upon
the man who stole half his kingdom, and Panchaali herself later seeks her revenge for the action
that shamed her and took away everything she and her husbands had. Vengeance and pride coil
together within Panchaali, giving her no rest. But the big question is would vengeance really give

The Struggle For Gender Equality
Is it accurate to state that the struggle for gender equality in Europe was successful during the
twentieth century? Previous to the twentieth century, women were unable to vote in Europe, which
contributed towards a disparity between genders. Early twentieth century saw the majority of
working class women s lives across Europe revolving around household and family duties, with the
education world being closed to them and the opportunity of having a job restricted. This
immediately shows an inequality and divide between women and men, showing evidence that
woman was living in a man s world . However things began to evolve during the twentieth century
as it witnessed many European countries in giving women the political right to vote. Primarily,
Finland gave women the vote in 1906, Britain followed although not until 1928, and Italy finally
accepted women should vote in 1945. Although the passing of these laws demonstrate emancipation
towards women, is it accurate to state that the struggle for gender equality in Europe was successful
during the twentieth century? Essentially the struggle for gender equality was not completely
triumphant during the twentieth century, as although women were successful in gaining the vote,
this was only one aspect towards achieving gender equality. Firstly in Britain in 1894, the Local
Government Act allowed women who own property to vote locally, however it was only a small
amount of women who this concerned, therefore had little

  • 2. Persuasive Essay About The Superhero Growing up we often find ourselves talking about realistic and fictional heroes at some point in our lifetime. Most of us can remember being asked questions like who s your favorite superhero or if you could be a superhero which would you choose. Those were always hard questions to me because my interest at the time consisted of watching the latest Hannah Montana episodes. Although I never went out of my way to watch or read about the fictional superheroes, I knew things like what kind of powers they had and how their costume looked. I never based my opinion on their actual character and their mission as a hero. Avoiding the names like Superman and Batman was nearly impossible. They were on t shirts, book bags, and even took up a whole aisle in the toy section at our local grocery store. Just recently I started watching the superhero movies like Captain America: The First Avenger and Iron Man. Unlike the others, there was a connection I had in the beginning with the characters because before they transformed into the superhero that is known today, we met the person underneath the costume and became familiar with their imperfections and strengths as a normal human being like you and me. As the viewers, we develop different expectations superheroes should meet, like their powers, their costume, and even their characters personality. We could change who we are to be like those seen in the movies or simply find the superhero in us. Captain America and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Multimedia Big Data Analysis Framework For Semantic... %chapter{Conclusions and Future Work} chapter{CONCLUSIONS AND FUTURE WORK} label{chapter:Conclusions} section{Conclusions} In this dissertation a multimedia big data analysis framework for semantic information management and retrieval is presented. It contains three coherent components, namely multimedia semantic representation, multimedia concept classification and summarization, and multimedia temporal semantics analysis and ensemble learning. These three components are seamlessly integrated and act as a coherent entity to provide essential functionalities in the proposed information management and retrieval framework. Guidelines Of Guidelines On Policy Rules Policy Rules For the purposes of being in line with my legal and ethical responsibilities, I would construct my policy for sharing information with students by FERPA guidelines. While I would allow the release of information in following FERPA regulations, I would strongly advise for counselors to still be mindful when releasing information. I would suggest that they only release information with their upmost discretion and for circumstances where not only FERPA permits, but that it also seems to be of benefit for the student. As many of the guidelines state, the schools may release information in certain circumstances, but they do not have to. This is what I would relay to my counselors. Directly Releasing Information Directory information. The first policy rule would be that counselors may release directory information if the student has been informed of the school s ability to release that information and has not submitted a written objection. If the student has been made aware of the type of information that the school determines to be directory and did not notify the school that he or she did not agree to the release, then this directory information may be released. However, I would still advise counselors to use their discretion and note if releasing this information to parents would actually benefit the student. I parked in a nearby parking garage, grateful for the free parking on Sunday, and walked down the street toward the church. I knew that I had arrived at the correct place because of the large granite sign with the name Unitarian Universalist Congregation Santa Rosa. There were many people standing outside talking to one another. I was immediately greeted by a church member who welcomed me and showed me to the main entrance. As I walked through the door, I noticed a rainbow flag above the main entrance, and could not help but begin thinking of the differences between this church and the one I was raised in. The first thing I noticed as I entered the first room was the pictures on the walls. They were not of gods or deities, but of ethnic minorities who had lived in the local community and had a positive impact. Underneath each photo was a brief description of who the photo represented. I continued walking down the main hall and it ended in a large semi circular room with a kitchen nook in one corner. They had many chairs available chairs and tables to sit and socialize. But to speak more seriously, I need not tell you that the world situation is very serious. That must be apparent to all intelligent people. I think one difficulty is that the problem is one of such enormous complexity that the very mass of facts presented to the public by press and radio make it exceedingly difficult for the man in the street to reach a clear appraisement of the situation. Furthermore, the people of this country are distant from the troubled areas of the earth, and it is hard for them to comprehend the plight and consequent reactions of the long suffering peoples of Europe and the effect of those reactions on their governments in connection with our efforts to promote peace in the world. There are many types of fad diets and i m gonna start with one the the most dangerous, the tapeworm diet. The tapeworm diet was created by Dr. Meyers of Sheffield and it started to be advertised in the early 1900 s. During the process of this diet, you are digesting tapeworm eggs and it grows in your stomach and basically crawls around eating all the food you have consumed and you are losing weight at the same time. This can be very dangerous because it could go to other parts of your body through the blood system and can cause abdominal pain, weakness, headache, nausea, diarrhoea, constipation, bloating and even death. To me it is totally disgusting and just not worth it. The tapeworm diet is thankfully illegal in the US and you usually get the tapeworm eggs in a bottle commonly found in Mexico for $1500. Back then they were usually advertised using posters saying No diet, no baths, no exercise. FAT the enemy that is shortening your life BANISHED. How? It was a disaster to the South with plantations burned, towns destroyed, fields neglected, and railroads and bridges ruined. Because of this, many white southerners were homeless and faced starvation. Most importantly, millions of slaves were free because of the Emancipation of Proclamation, but people didn t know what to do with so many freedmen suddenly, and the African Americans had no idea how to make a living for themselves. Many of them roamed around the countryside, sleeping on the bare ground, and all they had were the clothes they wore. Because of these disarrays and disruptions in the South, political leaders, such as Abraham Lincoln, Andrew Johnson, and the radical Republicans all proposed plans to help solve the problems of rights of freedmen, readmission of southern states, and land ownerships in the South. Although reconstruction policies changed the rights of African Americans by granting black men suffrage and allowing them to gain education, they continued to experience racial violence just as before the reconstruction period. Furthermore, the South continued to remain primarily agrarian as shown by the system of sharecropping. According to verse 19, Philemon seems to have had a significant history with Paul that formed a strong bond between them. In all likelihood, Paul meant that he had brought Philemon to faith, although it is also possible that he had saved Philemon s life in some other way. Nonetheless, scientists can prove five mass extinctions in history. The first mass extinction happened roughly around 445 million years ago. It was named the Ordovician Extinction. The species affected were known as Graptolite, which are different types of sea creatures. Their demise on Earthlasted around only one million years. Around sixty to seventy percent of the species disappeared, and now the remaining species have evolved into something new. An ultrasound is uniquely powerful in that it is the only imaging technology that can be transported to a patient or used where a patient might most urgently need it. The ultrasound can be utilized on the side of a road after a serious motor accident or in remote communities, as well as, traveling to reach a health center. When considered this massive scope of medical applications, along with the universal necessity for imaging equipment among the country and borough population in India. The evidence shows why India s ultrasound market poses both a significant business and public health opportunity. • 45. Subsistence Agriculture vs. Industrial-Style Animal Farming Contrast subsistence agriculture and industrial style animal farming. Subsistence farming is the most basic of farming methods where a small plot of land is cultivated by an individual, a family or a community just to feed their hungry mouths. All the produce is consumed by the family and not intended for sale outside. The experts believe that this kind of farming is almost primeval and needs to change quickly to the industrialized mode all over the world, if abject poverty and famine are to be eradicated. Several factors have worked against the success of implementation, and they are not only technology related, but social, educational, economic, and political, as well. Many feminist voices have however, preferred to support the existing method of subsistence farming for the harmony and relationship that it fostered among the people, with an argument that human relationships, ecology and togetherness are more important than wealth (Shiva, 1989). In this perspective, subsistence farming does not contribute to economic growth or capital accumulation or even labor specialization. Since funds are limited to buy chemical fertilizers, most produce are organic and genetically modified seeds are never used here (Roosevelt, 2007, Wright, 2007). You will learn from history that subsistence farming existed in Southeast Asia, Sub Saharan Africa, South and Central America. Over the years; take the example of British colonized Kenya. • 48. Love And Vengeance Portrayal of Love Vengeance in Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni s The Palace of Illusions Is the desire for vengeance stronger than the longing to be loved? Love and vengeance are two emotions that have an astounding level of control on us. However which is a stronger driving force remains questionable. Love without fear and spite is the most powerful human emotion; and still, it can be easy to slip back into an old way, a jealous rage, a resistance or belief that one isn t worthy. Though it s a hard feeling to pinpoint, it s presence can be felt in everyone s life. It is a practice like most of one s life lessons, and it can be abundant if one sticks with it and expels the darkness from their heart and mind. Rightly said by Divakaruni ... Then she decides that she will remember the lesson taught to her and will use it to take revenge, no matter what its price. The questions Draupadi raises, the things she resists and the emotions which drive her strengths in her discourse all leave us, inquisitively, questioning our reception and reading of the Mahabharata. The distinctness of Draupadi s narrative stands with the fact that Draupadi s feministic retelling, which is somewhat a modern rendering fits into the plot of Mahabharata. Draupadi s story is more close to humanised rendering, her anger, resentment, and suppressed desire make her one like us. She develops a concern for the role of women which is distinctly modern and contemporary. The Palace of Illusions is a story of vengeance. Panchaali s father vowed to avenge himself upon the man who stole half his kingdom, and Panchaali herself later seeks her revenge for the action that shamed her and took away everything she and her husbands had. Vengeance and pride coil together within Panchaali, giving her no rest. But the big question is would vengeance really give her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 51. The Struggle For Gender Equality Is it accurate to state that the struggle for gender equality in Europe was successful during the twentieth century? Previous to the twentieth century, women were unable to vote in Europe, which contributed towards a disparity between genders. Early twentieth century saw the majority of working class women s lives across Europe revolving around household and family duties, with the education world being closed to them and the opportunity of having a job restricted. This immediately shows an inequality and divide between women and men, showing evidence that woman was living in a man s world . However things began to evolve during the twentieth century as it witnessed many European countries in giving women the political right to vote. Primarily, Finland gave women the vote in 1906, Britain followed although not until 1928, and Italy finally accepted women should vote in 1945. Although the passing of these laws demonstrate emancipation towards women, is it accurate to state that the struggle for gender equality in Europe was successful during the twentieth century? Essentially the struggle for gender equality was not completely triumphant during the twentieth century, as although women were successful in gaining the vote, this was only one aspect towards achieving gender equality. Firstly in Britain in 1894, the Local Government Act allowed women who own property to vote locally, however it was only a small amount of women who this concerned, therefore had little ...
