Prom 2014 will be held on May 3rd from 7-11pm at the San Diego Zoo. Tickets will be sold from April 14-16 for $90 per couple and from April 28-May 1 for $100 per couple. Seniors may attend without a date. Formal attire is required and must adhere to the dress code. Dresses must be at least 5 inches above the knee, not form fitting, and not have plunging necklines, bare backs, midriffs or sides. Gentlemen must wear suits or tuxedos with dress shirts and ties. Attire deemed inappropriate by administrators will result in denial of admission without refund.
Winter Formal 2013 Dress Code
Winter Formal 2013 will take place with the theme "A Night at Gatsby's". Students must follow the formal dress code which includes suits and ties for gentlemen and dresses of appropriate modest length for ladies. Dresses may not be too short, tight, low-cut, or bare any midriff or sides. Those not in compliance will not be allowed to attend without changing into loaner clothing. The dean's office can answer any questions about appropriate attire.

SolarWinds provides IT management software to customers worldwide. They have transitioned their documentation to focus on customer success through a knowledge base called MindTouch. This involves producing concise documentation focused on business value, as well as leveraging reuse of content and advanced MindTouch features. Challenges included importing large amounts of content efficiently while avoiding duplicates. The solution was to store content in a reuse area and call it dynamically as needed. This allowed maintaining structure, metadata, and statistics during updates.

Keith Schengili-Roberts presented on how moving to DITA and a content management system (CCMS) can improve chances of documentation success. He outlined key features of DITA like content reuse and separation of form from content. Four chief reasons for wanting to move included needing more efficiency, outgrowing current tools, rising localization costs, and content verification needs. A CCMS allows for versioning, workflow, metrics on production and reuse, and improved localization. It was argued the benefits outweigh upfront costs over time through opportunities for process improvement.
Janell Sims: Tunneling Through Silos
This document discusses how Harvard Law School created a community of support among content developers across departments to improve their content strategy. Initially, departments worked in silos with no centralized web team, resulting in poor quality content. The law school invited key content administrators to collaborate, building enthusiasm. They established regular meetings to discuss best practices, technical skills, and receive feedback. This helped dissolve barriers between departments and improved how information is shared across the law school. The community approach improved the entire website and helped develop a stronger overall content strategy.
