Contributed Software
R PACKAGES
Since its very early days, Revolution Analytics has contributed
software to the open source community. Revolution’s experts in
parallel computing maintain the following packages on CRAN:
• doMC
• doParallel
• doSNOW
• foreach
• iterators
• nws
Leading the way for integrating R with Hadoop.
Recognizing early on that the Hadoop project would become
very important for R minded data scientists and statisticians
for working with big data Revolution initiated the RHADOOP
project on Github. Today, the three packages rmr (writing map-
reduce jobs in R), rhbase (queriring the HBASE data base) and
rhdfs (working with the HDFS file system) are the gold stan-
dards for using R with Hadoop
Helpr: https://github.com/hadley/helpr
Helpr is an R package that betters friendly HTML
documentation. With links to other packages, func-
tion aliases, and function sources, finding information
is a click away. Using the comprehensive search bar,
searching across all R packages is quick and effortless.
