The Metadata & DIscovery Group (MDG) is a special interest group of the Chartered Institute of Library & Information Professionals (CILIP). The Group formally changed its name from Cataloguing & Indexing Group (CIG) to Metadata & Discovery Group (MDG) in 2020. We organise events, seminars and conferences for our members and the wider cataloguing and metadata community in the UK, and promote the use of bibliographic and related metadata standards for resource discovery and collection management.
