4. Storytelling
1. Frank’s life was trouble-free – he didn’t have a care in the world.

Мой брат учится на первом курсе университета, поэтому ему приходится выполнять
много письменных заданий. Он учится хорошо, получает стипендию и никогда не
списывает на экзаменах. Несмотря на это, вчера он завалил экзамен по праву. Конечно,
препятствия на пути к цели неизбежны, но я считаю, ему нужно было больше
заниматься.
Расхождения между различными культурами часто вызывают настоящий культурный
шок у тех, кто переезжает в другую страну. Люди чувствуют себя не в своей тарелке,
скучают по родным и друзьям, чувствуют себя одинокими и в итоге решают, что они
совершили ужасную ошибку. Зачастую языковой барьер и неуверенность в себе не
позволяют им принять культуру, еще больше усугубляя ситуацию.
Благодаря технологическому прогрессу, общение лицом к лицу постепенно выходит из
моды, что часто приводит к срыву в общении. Между тем, навыки вербального и
невербального общения незаменимы в наши дни. Правильный язык тела, контакт глаз,
жесты и положение тела оказывают огромное влияние на успешную коммуникацию.
Я пытаюсь найти высокооплачиваемую работу, и вчера, увидев в газете интересное
объявление, я набрал указанный номер. Сначала я не мог дозвониться до них – линия
все время была занята. Но я был очень настойчив, и в итоге я дозвонился до секретаря
этой компании. Она попросила меня перезвонить позже, я так и сделал. Вечером
оказалось, что вакансия уже была занята. Вот мне везет…
Моя подруга недавно забеременела и сейчас ждет ребенка. Это будет ее первенец, и
она очень волнуется, хотя моя бабушка часто говорит, что родить ребенка не так
трудно, как его воспитывать. Время летит быстро – не успеешь оглянуться (before you
know it), как ребенок уже идет в детский сад, заводит друзей в школе и поступает в
университет.
