MathGeAr: Revised Math teaching plans within

Accreditation
• Accreditation is a type of external evaluation
mechanism, which determines the compatibility of
an educational programme with standards. State
funding goes only to accredited programmes.
Accreditation is mandatory for doctoral programmes
and regulated professions – Law, Medicine and
Pedagogical.
MathGeAr project participant Universities from
Georgia:
• Akaki Tsereteli State University (ATSU)
• Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University (BSU)
• Georgian Technical University (GTU)
• University of Georgia (UG)
All of these institutions have accreditated programmes. ( since
2011-2012)
The accreditation is granted for a period of 5 years.
Self-evaluation
• The educational institutions, implementing accredited
educational programme/programmes, provide the
NCEQE with a self-evaluation report from the first of May
until 31st of May, inclusively.
• The educational institution is obliged to present the
changes that were made in the programs (among them
the changes within the MathGeAr project.)
• NCEQE checks the self-evaluations, presented by the
educational institutions and gives the recommendations.
Accreditation standards
• The goals of an educational programme, learning
outcomes and the compatibility of the programme
with them;
• Methodology and organisation of teaching,
adequacy of the assessment of programme mastering;
• Student Performance, Individual Work with Them;
• Provision with teaching resources;
• Potential to further enhance the educational
quality.
Reaccreditation
• All the above mentioned educational Institutions shall
pass the reaccreditation process of their programmes
during 2016 -2017.
• In addition, NCEQE is working actively on the formation
of the Sector Councils.
• The Sector Councils will create sector standards which
will be approved by the NCEQE by an individual
administrative law act (approximately after 2017).
• The experience received within the MathGeAr project
will be used during the reaccreditation and the standards
making process.
