UNIT 5 REPTILES,AMPHIBIANS AND FISH SCIENCE
Natural Science 3º - Educación Primaria.
 Vertebrates can be divided into 5 groups (los vertebrados se pueden dividir en 5 grupos).
Mammals Birds Reptiles Amphibians Fish
Reptiles Amphibians Fish
Reptiles are vertebrates.
Most reptiles are
oviparous
(son ovíparos).
They can be carnivores or
omnivores (Pueden ser
carnívoros u omnívoros).
Baby reptiles look like
adult reptiles
(Los bebés parecen adultos).
Reptiles breathe using
lungs (respiran usando pulmones).
They have scales
(tienen escamas).
Most have 4 limbs and a
tail, but some have no
limbs (la mayoría tienen 4
extremidades y una cola, pero
algunos no tienen extremidades).
Amphibians are vertebrates.
They are
oviparous.
Most amphibians
are carnivores.
Baby amphibians live and
grow in the water. They
change through a
metamorphosis into adults. (Los
bebés viven y crecen en elagua. Cambian a
través de una metarmorfosis en adultos).
Baby amphibiansbreathe
using gills (branquias). Adults
breathe with their lungs.
They have moist skin (tienen la
piel húmeda).
Most amphibians have 4 limbs.
 Fish are vertebrates.
 Most fish are
oviparous. Sharks
are viviparous. (Los
tiburones son vivíparos).
 Fish can be
carnivores,
herbivores or
omnivores.
 They breatheusing
gills.
 They have scales
that protect their
bodies (tienen escamas
que protegen sus cuerpos).
 They have fins and
tail (tienen aletas y cola).
THE LIFE CYCLE OF A FROG (El ciclo de vida de una rana).
1. Eggs (huevos): An adult frog lays (pone) eggs in the water.
2. Baby: Babies hatch (los bebés salen del huevo).
3. Tadpole (renacuajo): they develop back legs (desarrollan patas traseras).
4. Froglet (pequeña rana): they develop front legs (patas delanteras).
5. Adult frog: they breathe with lungs.
Contenido mínimo para estudiar: REMEMBER
Invertebrates don’t have a backbone Los invertebrados no la tienen.
Los vertebrados tienen columna vertebral.Vertebrates have a backbone
