3. Germane Systems LLC, 2005 - 2008 Director/Senior Engineer Germane Integration Group.
Designed and manufactured custom, patentable computer and storage systems using COTS components
for DoD, Intelligence and law enforcement. Team lead for RFP response.
Accomplishments: Custom systems for naval deployment. These systems require a high degree of
shock and temperature resiliency in confined spaces. Original work on small form factor, high density,
field deployable compute and storage. Designed and built liquid cooled fully contained five blade server
in a 3’ sq package. This system set a record at the Microsoft customer lab for number of simultaneous
high transaction Exchange users on a single system.
Indus Corporation, 2003 – 2005, Manager Corporate Information Technology,
Design and management of Corporate data center, network infrastructure and staff, as well as
subject matter expert for computing, storage and infrastructure contracts. Senior engineering architect.
Accomplishments: Designed, built, migrated to a new building and configured a new data center for
corporate headquarters.
Smartronix, Inc., 2001 – 2003, Senior Project Engineer / Senior Design Architect
Project Manager and Senior Technical Lead for DoD projects, primarily Navy Marine Corps Intranet
(NMCI). In this capacity I developed Professional services line of business concentrating in storage, data
management and disaster recovery engagements. We also developed NAS and ISCSI subsystem and
encrypted remote data replication strategy as well as a fiber optic test instrument used to certify NMCI
installations. Developed portable fiber optic certification equipment. Subject matter expert for RFPs.
Accomplishments: Build data centers all over the US. Approximately one every three weeks.
Designed and build a fiber test instrument adopted system wide.
NTT America (formally Verio, Inc.), 2000 – 2001 Director WEB Hosting,
Built and managed WEB hosting and managed services operations in multiple data centers in the eastern
region. Management of following departments: Networking, Operations, Purchasing, Engineering, and
Product development. Staff – ten direct reports with a total of 148 individuals. Budgetary responsibility
in excess of $15 million.
Accomplishments: Built and staffed several data centers on the east coast. The primary data center
was 800,000 square foot.
Elliptus Technologies Inc., 1998–2000 Manager Data Center Operations/Senior Design Architect
Elliptus Technologies, an e-commerce service provider to the insurance industry. As a founding Member
of this enterprise, I Built data centers in Richmond, Dallas, and Glendale California, and one call center
in Richmond. Budget responsibility for $2.8 million.
Accomplishments: Design, built and ran three data centers.
