`Jeol 400 MHz 1H/13C NMR spectrometer, Shimadzu FTIR 84005, Varian Saturn 3800-2000
GC/MS, Buck HPLC, Buck 210 AAS, Schimadzu GC-14 with FID, Rotavapor R-3000, recrystallization,
column chromatography, flash chromatography, and thin-layer chromatography. I also have a limited
working knowledge of the following: Jasco FP-6300 Spectroflurometer, SMDE model 303A differential
pulse polarography, Perkin-Elmer Lambda UV-VIS, Cary 83 laser-Raman spectrophotometer, calorimetry,
gravimetry, and coulometry.
My research has utilized several organic reaction techniques including the following: Suzuki
coupling, hydrogenation, hydrolysis, esterification, and the placement and removal of various protective
groups including benzyl, methyl, and Boc groups. On a more mechanical note I have also had experience
building a Schlenk line and setting up distillation, vacuum distillation, condensation, and reflux apparatus
and would look forward to assisting in the development of a research laboratory from scratch.
