Focused Course Work:
Human Anatomy and Physiology BIO 341- Focus on the anatomical elements and physiological
functions of the organ systems (endocrine, integument, nervous, reproductive, digestive,
lymphatic, respiratory, cardiovascular, urinary, skeletal, and muscular) in human body to
maintain homeostasis.
Developmental Biology (BIO 364) - Covers genetic, cellular, and molecular components in
developing embryos of different model organisms and humans. Post embryonic development
topics include aging and regeneration.
Cell and Molecular Biology (BIO 240) - Examines the structure and functions of cell
components, communication, and regulation. Laboratory techniques were used to study cells
(light and dissection microscopes, pipets, centrifuges, polymerase chain reactions). Emphasis
on eukaryotic cells.
Genetics (BIO 350) - Molecular genetics of prokaryotes and eukaryotes, genetic mechanisms of
evolution, chromosome organization, and quantitative and population genetics and sexually
reproducing organisms.
Medical Terminology (BIO 243)-Experience to analyze and comprehend large scientific words to
improve understanding. Scientific and laboratory terms are learned, analyzed, and pronounced
properly.
EXPERIENCE
Medical-Valley View Veterinary Hospital (June2015-Aug 2015)
Veterinary Assistant
Maintained clinical facilities. Preparation and set up for dentals and surgeries.
Assisted veterinarians and veterinarian technicians in testing, treatment, and surgical
procedures.
Effectively communicated verbally and in written format to veterinarian, veterinarian
technicians, and clients.
Experience preparing, reading, labeling and preserving samples from canines and felines for
testing/diagnosing purposes. Assisting in collection of biological samples and specimens.
Trained in laboratory machinery, supplies, and instruments such as centrifuge, autoclave,
Catalyst Dx analyzer, Procyte Dx, refractometer, syringes and needle sizes, commonly used
medications and solutions.
