Profile
I am currently working as a Senior Auditor with KPMG East African practice where
my roles includes among others development and execution of group audit plans,
leading and managing subsidiary audits and projects with teams of five to fifteen
assistants through planning, fieldwork and reporting phases, coordinating schedules
and assistants in teams, reporting on the audit progress to the client, discussing
issues identified and preparation and review of financial statements in compliance
with International Financial Reporting Standards.
I have been rated as a highly effectively performer in the last four years in KPMG
being a person who consistently delivers quality, exceeds targets and performs
better than peers.
I have a vast knowledge and experience in finance functions and processes audits,
financial statements preparations and analysis in both financial services and
consumer industrial markets, performance of agreed upon procedures, and review
and implementation of IFRS compliance audit systems and frameworks.
I am an accredited global trainer having under gone the Integrated Africa Generic
Train The Trainer (IAGTTT) program, a program offered by KPMG South Africa, and

Africa.

I am the engagement senior on various engagements advising client’s senior
management and board members on business process improvements,
taxation, compliance with laws and regulations and financial reporting
frameworks.
Key responsibilities include:
In charge of planning, execution and completion of financial statements
audits of large to medium sized organizations in the financial services,
manufacturing and service industries including leading teams of three to
twelve audit staff;
Determining scope, developing audit programs, and coordinating activities
and communications with audit clients and management;
Assigning testing responsibilities to other subsidiary auditors in group
audits, and monitoring the audit; communicating progress, obstacles, and
issues to management on a daily basis or on an as-needed basis;
Executing project plans and acting resourcefully to ensure that work is
completed within specified time and quality parameters are delivered as
agreed with the client and in line with the best practice;
Preparing engagement budgets and continuously monitoring the progress
of the fieldwork for each job assigned against the estimated plan and
communicating any challenges on a timely basis;
Discussing findings with audit clients and obtaining timely and proper
feedback of the findings prior to finalization of fieldwork knowing when it is
necessary to escalate and/or involve those charged with governance;
Preparing audit reports reflecting the results of the audit work performed,
including reports to management;
Preparation and review of consolidation workings and statutory accounts for
compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards and other
relevant legislation;
Assessment of internal control environments and preparation of
management reports on performance improvement areas in the business
processes of the organization;
Review of tax workings and compliance check for audit clients.
Review of thought readership materials with the view of identifying
important emerging issues relating to client operations; and providing
advisory services thereof;
Peer review of colleagues within the Audit service line; including providing
performance feedback per project; and
Undertaking induction of new staff within the service line and on the job
training of entry level employees.
