 Include desirable “soft skills” attractive to districts
(energetic, enthusiastic, team-player, dedicated, loyal,
goal-driven, passionate, high expectations, creative, etc.)
 Describe the District in a complimentary way
(progressive, world-class, values creativity, high standards,
promotes diversity, etc.)
Credentials in your resume should boldly share skills
and special training, high GPA, and valuable certifications closely
aligned with the position.
 Clearly state your SKILLS near the top of Page 1
 Highlight SKILLS with shading, color, or bold font

Experience should present a steady employment history
without gaps that shows evidence of growth and new skills aligned
with the demands of the job.
 List all recent professional experiences (employer, dates, role)
 Use bullets to share key responsibilities – try to describe not only
“what” you did, but “how well” (growth, accomplishments, etc.)
 You may group multiple instances of similar roles (substituting for
many districts, for example)
 Include volunteer or leadership experiences also
 BE CAREFUL NOT TO ALLOW ANY GAPS IN THE TIMELINE
Resume should be attractive and easy to read, using
suitable fonts, colors and headings to pleasantly introduce a spirited
team player who is ready to meet district goals today.
 Use headings to separate Sections of your resume
 Respect “white space” to avoid a “text-heavy” appearance
 Consider the use of varied fonts, borders, or colors
 Make sure each Section shares your enthusiasm
 The TONE of your resume should be upbeat, proud and confident
and not desperate, frustrated, deserving or entitled
