This document summarizes Erik Duval's presentation on dealing with information overload as a researcher. Some of the key challenges discussed include keeping up with the large volume of publications, ensuring relevant papers are not missed, knowing who is engaging with your own work, and identifying potential collaborators. Duval then describes several tools and approaches he and his colleagues have developed to help address these issues, including the social discovery tool More!, the reference manager TiNYARM, visualizations of author networks like ResearchTable, and geospatial visualizations of collaboration networks.
