RES EA RC H P RO J EC T
planning a trip to sea countries

INSTRUCTION:
Students are to plan a trip to at least two of Southeast Asian countries on your vacation. Your trip
plan should be practical and of your own interests. You may choose to visit several countries depending
on your interest, budget, and timeframe. Approximately an hour a week will be given for your research
period, counseling session and presenting your current stage on the project. Your plan should cover all of
the following points:

Week 1: Which countries to visit? (What interests you about the countries (attractions, natural history,
 personal experiences)
Week 2: Where to go? (attractions) What to do? (activities), What to experience? (cultural events),
When to visit? (Time & Duration), What is currency of the country?
Week 3: How to get to the countries? (flight details and options, transportation means, price
 comparison) with the costs
Week 4: Accommodation types (backpacker, hotel, motel, guest house) for each attraction, town, city,
or country visited with the costs
Week 5: How to get around inbound? (Bus, train, motor bike, plane)
Week 6: Entry requirement and customs, safety issues, travel tips, Do’s and Don’ts, what to do in an
 emergency case.
Week 7: Overall Budget (transportation, meal, accommodation, visa, pocket money, etc.) and how will
 you earn the amount?

Each Friday students will be given approximately an hour to do research on one of the
points in the computer lap. Before the class ends, students are required to give an oral
presentation on their progress to Kru Tuke. Kru Tuke will always respond to questions during
class time and via email. Journal on your work progress must be typed and sent to Kru Tuke
by 8 pm of the following Sunday for assessment. On week 8,
students will be given a presentation on their final completed trip
plan. Note: Any students absent from class on Friday are still
required to submit their journal to Kru Tuke on the following
Sunday by 8 pm.
