2. Main image
I have chosen this particular picture for my main image on my
front cover, due to the mis-en-scene of the casual clothing, this
connotes that the college environment is one where students can
express themselves and comfortably fit in despite their individual
styles. I have purposely chosen a medium shot, so the students
outfit can clearly be seen.)
Also, the fact that Josh is smiling happily in the image,
symbolically represents a students who is happy and content
with studying here at the sixth form.
Josh is also making direct address, this is done on purpose to
engage with the audience.

This image shows two students sitting on a
bench outdoor, and socialising with each other. I
have picked this image as it represents a happy
college atmosphere, this is shown by the
cheerful body language and facial expressions.
Also, the students outfits can be seen. (This
anchors to one of the cover lines about fashion
tips on my front cover.)
Also, I have deliberately chosen the mis-en-scene
of photographing the shot outdoors it gives my
shot types a variety of different settings. It also
shows off the sixth forms many locations.
4. Contents page, image B
This image shows a student working in the Kitson
library. She seems engaged and concentrated in
what she is doing on the computer, which is a
prop and is part of the mis-en-scene This shot is
deliberately taken so that the A.S.P.I.R.E poster
above her is visible. This is so that this word
represents importance. This is shown by the
word being written in a bold typography and in a
colourful font. (Also, the fact that the phrase is
eye-catching it symbolically represents
significance and meaning.)

• This image shows three students playing sports
outside of the main building, “Hampton.” This
represents a contrast between the hard work
and concentration shown by the student in the
library, and the fun and lively atmosphere
shown in this picture. This connotes ideas that,
despite the college being about hard work and
focus, it also encourages students to enjoy
themselves and join extra curricular activities,
such as sport. This is shown by the mis-en-
scene of the ball thrown in the air, acting as a
prop.

Lastly, this image shows a student revising ,whilst
sitting on the grass outside Hampton.I have chosen this
picture, as it shows a relaxed and peaceful
environment. The mis-en-scene of the casual clothing,
symbolically represents a typical day in the life of a
normal college student at the sixth form.(For example,
this is represented by the “hoodie” that she is wearing.
This connotes the stereotype of a “typical teenager.”)
The student looks engaged in her work, and this shows
the level of commitment and concentration that the
target audience should aspire to be like.
