EVALUATION OF COVER MAGAZINE
Masthead: it’s at the top of the cover magazine. It’s quite big and
there’s also the logo of the school. I chose to do it so because I
think it’s one of the most important thing in a cover magazine. It
has to attract the reader and makes him/her interested.
Colors: the most used colors are red, orange, green and blue. You
can find them in the titles and in the pictures. I chose this colors
because I think they attract the reader.
Images: I chose three images for my cover
magazine: one is a medium close-up of a student.
She’s looking at the camera and she’s smiling (this
shows happiness). I chose a medium close-up
because the reader has to see the details of the
image, try to understand the feelings of the
student and what I want to express with this
picture.
The student is in the garden in front of one of the building of the
school and she’s wearing a t-shirt
and a jacket: this shows also the dress code!
The color of the t-shirt is connected
to a title on the cover magazine.
2. The other one is a photograph of the school. I chose
this picture to show the main building and some free
spaces you can find in school. This picture shows the
place where the sixth form students meet each other
every morning, the place where they have lunch, they
study, they spend their break playing table tennis and
chatting in this beautiful garden.
The last one is a photograph of some people
who are playing table tennis in the garden of
the school: this picture shows that at school
students can do something else, and not only
study!
Font choice: I chose to write the titles in bold and use colors that
can be connected to the colors of the images. The titles are big so
that they can attact the reader.
Layout: there are three photographs: two big photos under the
title and one smaller below on the right. I chose these positions
because I think that a magazine with big photographs attract
more than one with a lot of titles.
Students: This magazine is addressed to students of the age
between 16 – 18 years old.
Language: neither formal nor informal.
