A Grid broker is a tool that matches user requests to available Grid resources. Brokers perform functions like resource discovery, selection, monitoring, job submission and monitoring. They act as a coordinator between resource providers, virtual organizations that interconnect Grid sites, and resource consumers. Brokers aim to provide a single point of access for users to Grid resources and can select resources according to policies like being consumer-oriented, provider-oriented or Grid-oriented.
