2. In order to adhere to the genre of a Slasher/Horror I plan to use a variety of different shots and techniques which will create a tense
atmosphere leading up to a death scene. I also plan to put sound to use, in both a diegetic and non diegetic manner, in conjunction
with this an increase in the pace will intensify the situation in hand whilst keeping the viewers on edge. In the text I have studied (Curb
Stomp scene from American History X) All of these ideas have been put in to use to create a scene which is renowned for the shock
and disgust it gave to its audiences. In this scene after the murder is committed a big close up of the murderer is shown, the use of
facial expression again is shocking to see, as he is smiling, as if he is happy of what he has done.
To create an intense scene which stays within the conventions of a Slasher/Horror, Eisenstein’s Rhythmic method of montage could be
put to use; As stated above, an Increase in speed between each cut, with an addition of audio elements to create atmosphere and
illusion.

3. In order to create a sense of emotion which reaches out to the audience, Eisenstein’s Tonal
montage could be put to use.
By manipulating the length of the shot/cut the emotional meaning of the shot should be
portrayed onto the audience.
E.G. A lengthened shot of a sleeping baby would create a calm and relaxing emotion – In
order to tie this in with the genre of a Horror/Slasher movie, A huge contrast could be made
by following up on a calm scene such as this with a scene with a totally different sense of
atmosphere/emotion.

4. Throughout our production I'd say we would try to keep the killers face concealed either by
wearing dark clothing such as a black hoody or sticking to shadowed shots focusing around
the mid to lower parts of the body, this way the audience will be kept in suspense as to who
the killer is. If wearing a hoody the killer would keep a lowered head so that the hood would
in effect shadow the face. The victim would be wearing their own clothes which may vary
depending on factors such as weather etc. In order to cancel out continuity errors the same
costumes should be used at all times.

5. The red colouring of this text is a stereotypical convention This font could be said to have connotations of the
of Horror script, with a connotation of images such as overpowering of purity with all that’s evil. The bold red
death with an incorporation of blood. The white font clearly signifies blood and danger whilst the small
shadowing gives a connotation of purity and so gives us section of white writing signifies purity. This also brings
the impression that the killer could be falsifying their the idea of the typical suspectingly weak girl who
identity to be seemingly friendly. would end up being the heroine opposed to the serial
killer which would usually be a large male, sticking to
the stereotypical conventions of a horror.
This font denotes the idea that the method of killing within this movie
would be by using metal items such as knives etc. The orange colouring
combined with the distortion of the text gives a rusted metal effect whilst
the incorporation of a cog shape where the ‘o’ should be furthers the
implication of metal objects.
