This document outlines 43 shots for the opening of a film. It begins with establishing shots of a dark corridor and ajar door. It then shows a man putting on a mask in a dark room. The title sequence features photos of people depicting the seven deadly sins. Shots then follow a female victim as she gets ready, receives a text, and goes outside at night to her garage where she is murdered. Her friend arrives to find her dead body with the word "lust" written in blood.

1. Shot list
Shot 1: Long shot – Establishing shot shows a long corridor with low-key lighting
with a door ajar at the end of it. Effect is a fade out.
Shot 2: Medium long shot – The same corridor with the same lighting just slightly closer to the
door and more zoomed in. Effect would be a fade in and then a fade out again at the end.
Shot 3: Medium close up of the ajar door, as though the camera has moved down the corridor.
Effect would be a fade in but instead of fading out it moves into the room.
Shot 4: Medium shot - Camera moves into a dark room with dark coloured walls. We see a man’s
frame from behind – he wears dark clothing and is stood in front of a desk.
Shot 5: Over the shoulder shot – our antagonist reaches down and picks up a mask (we can’t
see the front of it) and moves to put it on.
Shot 6: Over the shoulder shot – camera pans upward till we see a mirror reflecting the room
behind the man and the top of his head.
Shot 7: Over the shoulder shot – the man suddenly looks up and in the reflection of the mirror
we see the masked face accompanied by a low symbol like sound.
Cuts to title sequence where we have 4 or 5 different pictures taken of people with one of the
seven deadly sins written on them in red pen. The title will appear in a corner of the frame in
quite a large font but the pictures will take up most of the frame. (All photos show people doing
mundane activities as though they had been taken without knowledge.)
Shot 8: Close up of photos with two different people (male) in one with Greed and one with Sloth
written on it.
Shot 9: Close up of more photos female this time with Pride written on it in red and then some
with a male with gluttony written on it.
Shot 10: Another two females photos with envy and wrath written on them.
Shot 11: Close up of a small collection of photos of a female (our first victim) with lust written on
it in red pen.
Shot 12: Black screen with the title written on (to be later decided). We will try to create our
own font to be used. The effect will be the written appearing as if out of smoke.

2. Shot 13: Close up- Shot of black screen when the title fades and then suddenly clothes are
separated by our female victim as though the camera is inside the wardrobe as she looks for
clothes.
Shot 14: Medium close up – girl throws the clothes she got out the wardrobe onto the bed. In the
background we start to hear a news report about another body found and that people suspect a
mass murderer is at large.
Shot 15: Close up - makeup on a desk as she picks her lipstick up the news report continues.
Shot 16: Close up – girl puts the red lipstick on same sound as before.
Shot 17: Close up - As the news report introduces a guest we see a close up of a radio and she
turns it off.
Shot 18: Extreme close up – phone on table vibrating with a text notification accompanied by the
amplified sound of a vibrating phone.
Shot 19: Over shoulder shot – girl unlocks the phone and we see a text conversation start.
Shot 20: medium close up – Girl on the phone but the text conversation they are having pops up
on the screen – edited in afterwards.
Shot 21: Medium close up - Camera is inside of cupboard as the girl puts something inside and
then closes the door.
Shot 22: Medium close up – from black (inside cupboard again) the girl opens the door and we
see she is now in the kitchen getting some utensil or food product out.
Shot 23: Close up – Cutting up a carrot with a sharp knife – amplified sounds of knife cutting
through carrot creates a sense of foreboding.
Shot 24: Low angle shot – girl kneels in front of freezer opens it. Eerie music very quiet so you
can barely hear it. There is a window in the background behind the freezer door.
Shot 25: Close up – her hand grabbing a bag of peas but it is nearly empty. Eerie music gets
slightly louder to help build anticipation.
Shot 26: Low angle shot – same angle shows her in front of freezer as she closes it and turns
away behind her in the window we see the masked villain. Sharp industrialised sound to
punctuate the sighting of him.
Shot 27: Close up – her hand reaches for the back door handle to go outside.
Shot 28: Close up – feet walking out the door and down the steps into the dark night outside.

3. Shot 29: Medium Long shot- As she walks through the dark garden to the garage, maybe use
sounds of crickets.
Shot 30: In the dark inside the garage – long shot- girl pulls garage door open from outside.
Shot 31: Medium close up – low angle. Looks from the doorway into the garage, girl walks past
camera into the room towards the freezer.
Shot 32: High angle shot- Over the shoulder of the villain looking through the garage window
into the garage as we see the girl looking in the freezer for peas. Amplified sound of heavy
breathing.
Shot 33: Over the shoulder shot – the girl hears a sound and stands up to look out of the
window into the dark garden. Camera may pan and we see the empty garden. But then the car
port light flicks off.
Shot 34: Medium close up from a low angle (same shot as 30). But as we see the girl backing
away from the window, in the foreground of the frame we see the killer’s lower body with a
knife clenched in his fist.
Shot 35: Cuts to black with a deep loud crescendo in non-diegetic sound.
Shot 36: Close up – shows gravel and a car pulls up slowly (only shows the wheel), sound of
crunching gravel is amplified.
Shot 37: Close up – young male’s shoes walking across gravel towards the front door. We
assume this is the boy she text asking to come over.
Shot 38: Close up – male’s hand reaching for door but it has already been left ajar so he pushes
it open. Eerie non-diegetic music begins lowly.
Shot 39: Medium close up - Walks through house as the light in the kitchen is on he goes
towards it.
Shot 40: Long shot- He walks outside to the garage the door is half open with a bloody handprint
on it and we see the light inside the garage spilling out.
Shot 41: Long shot- follows him walking towards the garage to look for the girl.
Shot 42: High angle medium long shot- Girl lying dead on the floor with blood from her throat as
though it has been slit. On the floor next to her the word lust has been written in blood.
Shot 43: Camera drops to floor looking directly at the girls hand covered in blood in a close up
shot. The screen then cuts to black
