Affordable Auto Insurance Case Study
Affordable Auto Insurance With a Decent FICO score
A great many people know they have a buyer FICO assessment, however few acknowledge there is a
comparative positioning utilized via auto and property insurance organizations to rate a client s
potential risk and it is critical to getting affordable auto insurance.
Approaches to get affordable auto insurance
Fittingly, this is called an insurance score, yet it considers more than exactly how immediately you
pay your bills. It additionally consolidates information, for example, what number of cases you ve
made on past approaches, how every now and again and that they ve been so excessive to past safety
net providers.
This score dramatically affects the expense of your auto and property insurance premiums. As
indicated, president and organizer of the Insurance Data ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Essay on Crime and the Media
Crime and the Media
The public depends on the news media for its understanding of crime. Reportedly three quarters (76%)
of the public say, they form their opinions about crime from what they see or read in the news
(Dorfman amp; Schiraldi, 2001). After reviewing five hours of reality crime television shows, one is
left with a very dismal look on society and a prejudice towards minorities as they are largely depicted
as the perpetrators of crime. This new genre commonly referred to as reality television appears to be
sweeping the nation by storm. Opinions vary, depending on whom you ask, to what extent reality
plays a role versus the selling of a product. Sensationalism, advertising, ratings hype, profiling and
fear all comprise the mass ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The apprehension and subsequent arrest all dramatized for the cameras. The suspect, heard on camera
being questioned about his past domestic violence charges, his inability to pay child support and
finally he is asked about the observed drug purchase.
Of the nineteen cases reviewed, drug related crimes were more prevalent. In cases involving African
American suspects, the drug of choice was crack cocaine. In suspects that were Caucasian, the drug of
choice was methamphetamines. On the episode aired on May 5, 2005, COPS: Bad Girls, the suspect, a
Caucasian woman was selling drugs and prostituting (Langley, 2005). With the cameras rolling, the
audience is able to overhear, that the suspect is on welfare and has had her children taken away
because of her drug habit. The suspect denies the charges, and the officer insists on making the point
that she is using her welfare money in order to purchase drugs.
In the cases reviewed, the program did not divulge the age. Upon observation, the average estimated
age is twenty five. Age did not appear to have any particular correlation to the type of criminal
activity. What appeared to be more in play was the socioeconomic scale of the suspects. The average
age and circumstances seem to strike a familiar vein with the cases reviewed. On average, the suspects
were unemployed, residing with a family member, a history of violence and drug use. This

Estate Plan Essay
The purpose of this memo is to devise a practical estate plan for our client who has maintained a
lucrative sole proprietorship conducting business in commercial real estate. The goal in our tax
planning strategies will be to legally transition a portion of the $1 billion in assets to multiple tax
saving trusts and a family limited partnership (FLP). Additionally, the client would like to begin
transferring proportional ownership of the company to his two children over the next thirty years and
sell ten percent of the company to an unrelated third party. Furthermore, these tasks need to minimize
the client s taxable estate substantially to reduce his estate tax liability at his death. Moreover, the
most proactive method after the FLP is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, the client wishes that his children will retain as much value in the company at his death.
Therefore, the first item to address is to begin gifting the maximum amount per year to his children of
currently $14,000 per year free of any taxes per IRC § 2503. Anything above that amount per year to
the children would trigger IRC § 2501 (a) (1) which will tax any amount over the $14,000 and need to
be paid by the gift giver as opposed to the receiver per IRC § 102. Additionally, if the donor gifts more
than the yearly dollar limit, IRS form 709 is required to be filed. However, due to IRC § 2001, there
may not be any actual tax owed if the amount is less than the lifetime allowable unified credit
exemption which is currently $5.45 million in 2016. In addition, other tax planning strategies that are
exempted from, taxation are gifts made to educational institutions on behalf of another person and to
healthcare facilities to assist individuals when there are extenuating medical expenses not covered by
insurance per IRC § 2503 (e) (2) (A) and (B) respectively. Also, bequests made to approved charitable
organizations are exempt from the gross estate at their FMV. Furthermore, life insurance policies may
also be excluded from the estate if they name a charity as the beneficiary per IRC § 2055.
Consequently, the above strategies will begin to reduce the taxable estate that will be valued by its fair
market value (FMV) at the

The Issue Of Tort Reform
Tort reform is a term propagated by companies in the tobacco and asbestos industries vulnerable to
legal actions seeking damages for the impacts to their products. Advocates use the terminology to
limit the ability and potential damages available to individuals who take legal actions against
companies. In 2002, the consumer advocacy organization Center for Justice and Democracy
investigated the U.S. tort reform and saw that the rally was actually a massive national PR effort
initiated by the tobacco industry to reduce or eliminate exposure to liability law suits. Concerned by
the increasing regularity in which some state attorneys general are hiring personal injury lawyers to
pursue lawsuits on behalf of their practicing states, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Perhaps one way to analyze the situation is through concepts of loss shifting and loss spreading. I
would anticipate such insurers directly or directly support tort reform aimed at limiting the quantum of
damages. On the other hand, I would be surprised if they supported substantial removal of the right to
sue in tort, because that is part of their business. (Journal of Patient Safety) Anyone with a valid claim
stands to receive compensation, but only up to a specified amount, which often leads to dissatisfaction
and complaint There are qualitative factors, of course, that add to the complexity of these scenarios. I
believe there are some interesting studies around no fault apology that might contribute to a reduction
in claims, for example. It would also be interesting to see what improvements collaborative law
processes might bring.
Both the loss shifting and the loss spreading scenarios are vulnerable to exploitation by players
motivated by greed or factors of self advancement. In an ideal world, a civil society could rationally
and effectively operate either or both loss shifting or loss spreading models in a sustainable way. This
seems unlikely to eventuate in current circumstances, unless there was a momentous shift in
consciousness. What seems more likely is that interested parties will struggle to improve their position
in the field through statutory

Who Is A Dynamic Character In The Matrix
The movie chosen for the film assignment was The Matrix, it holds a strong plot and is an iconic
movie in our American culture. The Matrix shows an impressive ability to keep fluid dynamics
throughout the film. Dynamics through character, setting, visuals, etc. Neo has proven to be a round
dynamic character, while a character like Morpheus is seen to be quite flat and stagnant. He is the
character that provides support for the entire film, although he is not the main character. Morpheus
seemed the most ideal character to do an analysis.
There are a few major characters throughout this film, all which are significant. After seeing the film,
the most important figure that stood out was Morpheus. He was a protagonist along with Neo, and
Trinity in the film. His main mission throughout the film was to teach Neo how to become a better
version of himself, how to save the human race, and to destroy the matrix. All of those are qualities of
an influential and positive character. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He holds a strong personality that demands respect, honesty, trust, and loyalty. At first, it appears as
though many of the characters (minor and major) fear this man, but as the story plot thickens it is
made clear that, that it is not fear but respect rather. His choices from his past to the present, as well as
his demeanor to other characters is what drives the respectable attitude that he carries. Amongst all
these, he has simple traits as well, like kindness and hope that show he has almost a delicate side with
some vulnerability left in him despite the personal wars he has been through. If we go back to the
beginning of the film, one of the most pivotal scenes is one where he has given Neo the opportunity to

The Causes Of The Indo-Pakistani War Of 1947
The Indo Pakistani war of 1947 was the very first war fought between the two counties over Jammu
and Kashmir. The war began when Pakistan sent troops from Waziristan into Kashmir in order to
obtain their land. When the king of Kashmir, Hari Singh, realized what Pakistan was doing to
Kashmir, he pleaded with India for help. Tensions exploded in October 1947 when the Pathan
Muslims of Poonch rebelled against the Hindu landowners of Kashmir. On October 22, Pakistan sent
troops into the region, brutally taking Muzaffarabad and Uri, burning a swath of destruction wherever
they marched, and killing Hindu civilians, ( Indo Pakistani War, 1947 1948, , n.d.). Indian government

General Yahya Khan, who was the president of Pakistan, refused to transition power to democratically
elected Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. These events sparked a massive surge of some 10 million refugees
from East Pakistan Bangladesh into West Bengal, India, one of the most impoverished districts of one
of the world s poorest nations ( Indo Pakistani War, 1971, n.d.). General Yahya Khan tried to suppress
this uprising by systematically eliminating Bengali civilians, religious minorities and armed personnel.
The East Pakistanis fled in millions to India to escape from these brutalities. India was thus introduced
into the war. Pakistan sent airplanes into Kashmir on December 3rd, 1971. This started a 12 day war
between India and Pakistan in which India had the upper hand. India now recognized Bangladesh as a
country and at the same time launched an air and ground assault on Dhaka. India now held control
over Dhaka and had captured 90,000 Pakistanis as prisoners of war. Pakistan was left with no choice
but to declare a ceasefire which ended the war between the two countries. Sheikh Mujib returned
home to become Bangladesh s first president. Pakistan officially recognized Bangladesh as a country

Upon entering class, it could be imaged that anyone who sat down to watch the movie, The Pill ,

tolerated, instead of protested. Women would have eight, nine, sometimes more than ten children all
before the age of thirty five because of the lack of contraceptives. After watching only a few minutes
of the film, I understand the reasoning behind the intolerance. With the reign of the Roman Catholic
Church, the thought of discussing contraceptives was unbearable, much less the act of receiving them.

The Crucible Response
Constructed Response 1 Frederic Henry is a lieutenant in the Italian army. In A Farewell to Arms, it is
revealed that before he joined the Italians, he lived in America (Hemingway 19). He joined the Italian
army during World War 1 because, according to himself, he was in Italy and spoke Italian
(Hemingway 19). Catherine Barkley is a volunteer nurse, or V.A.D., in the Italian army (Hemingway
22). She is originally from England (Hemingway 18). Before she met Frederic, she was engaged to
marry a man that she grew up with (Hemingway 16). However, he was killed in the Battle of Somme,
and Catherine hints that she no longer loves him when she tells Frederic That s the end of it

Constructed Response 2 When Frederic first meets Catherine, he says that she has beautiful hair,

Mad Scientists and Mad Elements Essay
We all know the saying, Don t judge a book by it s cover. Similarly, every element in the periodic
table has its own story and its own unique meaning. However, the average high schooler simply
associates these elements as something used in their chemistry classes. In fact, the elements seen on
the periodic table actually have much more to do in our daily lives and in history than most people
know. While giving a whole new perspective to the meaning of Chemistry, author Sam Kean
successfully recounts the hidden tales through humor and wit in his bestselling novel The
Disappearing Spoon: And Other True Tales of Madness, Love, and the History of the World from the
Periodic Table of Elements. Specifically, Chapter 15, An Element of ... Show more content on

Roentgen performed many tests, including his colleagues discoveries, which involved painting the
plates with a barium compound. When the plates were held in front of an object, Roentgen was able to
see through whatever he was holding up. Inevitably, he was astonished by this discovery and
immediately suspected that he had gone mad. As readers now, one finds his reaction to the first traces
of x ray quite humorous. In fact, this tale is certainly one where the ending is not detrimental, and in
contrary the happy opposite. Essentially, Kean focuses on the idea that these certain elements
mentioned in the chapter affected the lives of these mad scientists immensely. For the most part, these
elements hurt the careers and lives of some scientists, however this was not the case in all of the
stories in this chapter. The examples of selenium crazed Crookes, the false hype of the manganese
covered megadaltons, the palladium scandal of Pons and Fleischmann and the startling discovery of
the x ray by Roentgen successfully conveyed the central theme and concepts. It is very easy for
someone to understand the context filled stories and how they connect to what Kean is trying to
establish. Additionally, the author generally maintains a balanced bias throughout the chapter.
However, with the story of Pons and Fleischmann, one can really sense Kean s negative attitude to
these two scientists. He describes the pair as impostors, swindlers, and cheats (263) as well as

The planes hit the ship with several bombs, hoping that they could sink her and block the channel of
the harbor (p. 120 HPW). They fortunately failed and the Nevada was eventually beached at Hospital

The most innocent individual has the ability to flip their morality code to fit a role they could be
given. Someone suddenly reflecting a role given to them is referred to as the Lucifer Effect. (Myers
2014, p. 461) In the film, Full Metal Jacket, Sergent Hartman played his role as the drill instructor
both intensely and aggressively.(Kubrick) Hartman perfectly reflected the stereotype of both verbally
and physically abusive drill instructors as he used his role as the instructor to frequently undermine
and harass the new cadets. Hartman s goal as a drill instructor was to have all of the cadets to conform
into the ideal type of soldier for war, even if that meant possibly shattering their beliefs and mind.

The Charter School Lottery Winners And Lottery Losers
Abstract The reading will focus on the overall educational program success of 36 charter middle
schools across 15 states. There will be at least three international standards incorporated with the
reading to shed light on the effectiveness and non effectiveness of the charters school education
programs. The charter school lottery winners and lottery losers will be statically measured. The
standards that will be focused on are International Standard Organization (ISO) 9001:2008, Six
Sigma, and LEAN (LEAN Enterprise Institute). The reading will compare the purpose, values,
application, relative functionality, and implication of each Total Quality Management (TQM) model.
Keywords: programs, six, sigma, lean, model, charter, schools, standards
Total Quality Management According to Total Quality Management (TQM) (2013, pg 1), Total quality
management (TQM) can help a school monitor and evaluate its effectiveness. There are various TQM
models, but they all have a common focus on customer satisfaction and continuous service
improvement toward excellence. For schools, the customer is the student. When a Total Quality
Management (TQM) is implemented in an institution it can set it apart from the other institutions. It
formulates task teams to manage the institution compared to having a chain of command. An effective
Total Quality Management (TQM) institution Mission Statement is the foundation of the education
process. This encourages the staff

Abu Ghraib Prison Scandal

hundreds of people and filled the steps. The other consisted of three people. The March for Science
gathered a crowd of people whose reason for standing with signs was that science was under attack .
The other protested the systematic abuse of U.S. correctional facilities. In the past month three
correctional officers had been assaulted and one inmate had been murdered within the state of
Nebraska. None had died for the attack on science and yet people cheered and rallied. This lack of

citizens, but it was the researchers afterwards that contributed the most startling idea. Zimbardo, the
same man who ran the Stanford Prison Experiment, said in an interview with the New York Times,
Prisons tend to be brutal and abusive places unless great effort is made to control the guards base
impulses. It s not that we put bad apples in a good barrel. We put good apples in a bad barrel. The
barrel corrupts anything that it touches (Swhwartz, 2004 p. 2). A professor of Law at Loyola
University, Marcy Strauss, studies criminal procedure and wrote a forty two page manuscript on the
lessons that should be discussed beyond news articles. Strauss said of Abu Ghraib, Undoubtedly, these
factors [poor training of guards, poor oversight and horrendous conditions] played a major role in
facilitating the abuse. Correcting these conditions is imperative. But, to end the introspection there
would be a mistake (Strauss, 2005 p.9). The idea that people could be malignant under specific
circumstances has been proven by Milgrams studies and this idea is now apparent in real life. Thus,
the concern for prisons, as pointed out by both Zimbardo and Strauss, cannot simply be that the guards
or correctional officers do not abuse people in the future. The issue is that the maltreatment and
indignity in Abu Ghraib was a result of the poor foundation of the U.S. correctional system (Strauss,

Gender Countertype In The Media
A stereotype is typically a negative assumption on an individual or social group. They are often
magnified opinions held by a range of people on teenagers, genders, belief and race. The binary
opposite to stereotypes are countertypes , an example of a countertype is that all young female girls
are pleasant and beautiful.
The media has always taught us that women belong in the kitchen, women can t handle a day s work
and that we live in a man s world because we as women, are weak, emotional house wives. On the
other hand, we are taught that men are the brave, stoical, hard working money makers. Thankfully,
due to many equality protests and the suffragette movement there has been a rise in feminism and
women support. Feminism is the process in which women s rights are influenced to the public to make
decisions on the equality of both males and females. The people who support feminism are known as
feminists. Jane Bailey wrote about women on stereotypes within social media and explains how it is a
platform for women to freely express themselves.
Gender stereotyping used to happen more often in the media than it does nowadays, this is for the
reason that in today s society is frowned upon and seen as inappropriate by a mass audience.
Advertising and magazines are a huge impact on people worldwide, so an advertisement featuring a
half naked woman with the headline Are you beach body ready? (2015) would cause an uproar for
many reasons. One of the reasons being that the

John Searle s Chinese Room Argument A Decisive Objection...
Is John Searle s Chinese room argument a decisive objection to functionalism? Why or why not?
Introduction Development within artificial intelligence (AI) has produced machines or computers that
can imitate human like understanding and intelligence. Programs have been produced to allow AI a
form of seemingly natural interaction. Due to such movement in technology can we use the notion of
functionalism to suggest that these AI can understand, think and be intelligent? This essay will
highlight that despite further development within computers, that some suggest have surpassed the
intelligence of many humans, by using John Searle s argument, conclude the impossibility for
computers to understand language or possess the ability to think. What is functionalism?
Functionalism is the theory that focuses on the functional role. What is key to the functionalist is the
function, or the role the function plays in cognitive systems. Functionalists take the identity of a
mental state to be classified by its causal relations to sensory stimulations, other mental states, and
behavior. For instance, fully function definition. The heart is for pumping blood around the body. A
heart is fully functional because it claims any device that does this task counts as a heart. For example,

First are neuropathies, which is the pain detecting nervous system that doesn t fully develop. The other
is congenital analgesia that starts at birth where the pain detecting nervous system grows however
does not function (The Conversation par. 8). Although many people would love the idea of being able
to feel no pain, there are some rather unpleasant side affects. A person wouldn t be able to know if he
or she is injured, have no sense of smell, and a person would not fully understand what s dangerous.
People with this condition receive injury without knowing it. They can feel the difference between
what s sharp, dull, hot and chilly. However they can t, for instance, tell that a hot drink is hurting their
tongue (Congenital Insensitivity to Pain pg. 1). A boy named Isaac is one of these few people. He feels
something but the pain must be many times greater to compare to how normal people would be, said
Brown. Brown explained that Isaac couldn t tell that his ankle was broken. Isaac thought that his lower
leg hurt (Mohney par. 17). If a person doesn t know that he or she is hurt, they may not get the medical

when Ashley started spraying herself with a lot of perfume and they found out that the only reason she

Cann can t smell either and Dr. Woods tested her to find out just how much she couldn t smell. He
made sure she couldn t see what was in front of her and put a fruit and a drink under her nose but she

not. The market assesses that there is a 50% chance the firm has high value assets and a 50% chance
the firm has low value assets. Regardless of the value of the firm s existing assets, the manager and the

Convict Lease System
It is commonly believed that after the onset of the Civil War, Lincoln s signing of the Emancipation
Proclamation was the key driver to freeing the slaves of the south. After the Civil War, the 13th, 14th,
and 15th Constitutional amendments were passed which aided newly freed slaves in being equally
treated under the law, or so the story goes. The fact of the matter is that even after the Emancipation
Proclamation and after the amendments, slavery in the United States was still legal and not only that,
but it took on a much different form. The institution of slavery changed from having the direct
enslavement of blacks, to the United States legal and prison system enslaving blacks. Yet, the
enslavement itself was changed as black convicts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus, slavery pulled white workers down in two ways: one, by direct competition with slave labor in
the South, and two, by associating all the industrious efforts of workers with those of the degraded
slaves.
Yet, there was a difference of opinion in the minds of Southern elites who wanted to continue slavery,
but on different terms.
Looking at the social order at the time is important to understanding what is to come. While the slaves
were now free and able to do as they pleased, there was still a deeply embedded racism within the
minds of Southern whites. Just because blacks had fought in the Civil War did not suddenly mean that
the perception of blacks had changed; rather to the Southern elites, they still viewed blacks as inferior
and only good for labor, longing to perpetuate the slave system but within a new industrial framework
seeing as how the agricultural framework had been destroyed. This new system was to be found in
through convict leasing.
With the end of reconstruction and a change power in the South, the nature of both crime and

Persuasive Essay About Pizza
Did you know that in America, we consume about 251,770,000 pounds of pizza in a year?
Approximately three billion pizzas are sold each year in the U.S. alone. Of course, ordering pizza
from your favorite restaurant is not the only way to enjoy the culinary staple. Many people choose to
make their own pizza in the comfort of their own kitchen. Making your own pizza is a healthier and
more affordable option for most people, so I feel it is important to share the process of how to prepare
a homemade pizza. The very first step of the process is to purchase or gather your ingredients. Some
of the things needed would be toppings, cheese, sauce, and either prepared dough or ingredients to
make dough. During this step, it is important to keep in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To put on the sauce you should put small amounts on at a time until you have enough. You can always
put more on, but you cannot take it back off. I suggest using a spoon or spatula to spread the sauce
rather than a knife, because a knife tends to get caught in the dough. After the sauce comes the cheese.
This is my favorite part of the pizza. There are many options when it comes to the cheese because you
can create different combinations of textures and taste by using more than one type. It is easiest to use
either shredded cheese so that you can simply sprinkle it over the pizza, or a block of cheese so that
you can slice or shred it onto the pizza. The next step is probably the most fun. Putting on the
toppings. This is the part where you really get your money s worth. Most pizza chains are stingy with
their ingredients so you do not get a lot of toppings for what you pay. At home, you can put as much
or as little of something as you want and you know that it is being prepares the way you want it to be.
The most common ingredient among Americans is pepperoni, but do not be afraid to try new flavor
combinations. One of the key toppings to include is the seasoning. It is not required, but it will make
quite the difference in the flavor of your pizza. I like to use Garlic and butter on the crust of my pizza
so it will have flavor. Spices like Oregano and Basil are delicious options too. Part of the fun in
making pizza at home is that everyone

Themes In The Yellow Birds By Kevin Powers
In the novel, The Yellow Birds by Kevin Powers, several major themes and illustrations present
themselves throughout the storyline and strongly connect to previous readings and films from class.
The purpose of this book review will be to identify these illustrations, explain why they are important,
identify how these themes are connected to previous materials, and then determine if a movie could
accurately represent the book. As such, I argue that this book illustrates ideas of the loss of innocence,
loss of faith in humanity, and dust symbolizing the war these soldiers are fighting and how it
consumes all. I will then further my argument by the identification of themes such as neorealism,
heroism, and PTSD. However, it is first important to identify the special narrative structure of the
book, which is used to create these illustrations and themes. The narrative structure that Kevin Powers
uses is the first person from Private Brandon Bartle s point of view. However, the structure of the story
doesn t follow a classical narrative, but instead follows an alternative narrative where it bounces back
and forth between Private Bartle s time in Al Tafar, Iraq and when he is on leave at home in
Richmond, Virginia (Corrigan, 2015). This narrative style allows various illustrations and themes to
present themselves with the first being the loss of innocence is the path to salvation in war. This
illustration is vital because it shows that because Bartle lost his innocence he

African Americans And Caucasian Americans
The tensions are still there also because there still continue to be separate standards society sets for
African Americans and Caucasian Americans. Would individuals feel the need to set or think about the
standards if we did not have black history month? This notion probably would not cross the minds of
individuals if certain months of the year did not celebrate one race individually. Interracial marriage or
dating is still considered a socially unacceptable sighting or experience. Individual feels as if they
should only date their own ethnicity because it is the right thing to do , but in my eyes we are all the
same. The perception of African Americans in America will stay the same. The perception of African
Americans is that we always play the race card and we always act as the victim in any situation. In
most situations the outcome or conclusion can be perceived in many ways, African Americans are
never giving the benefit of the doubt. The Opportunity Agenda conducted three studies to gain
knowledge on the perception of African Americans in society. One of the best documented themes in
the research is that the overall representation of African American men and boys in the media is a
distortion of reality in a variety of ways. The perception is that we are all criminals, live in poverty
and do not try to succeed in life besides playing sports or having musical career. The positive images
and attributes with which African American males are associated tend to be

What are the Political Axes
Freedom and Authority 1. In your own words, what do the two axes of Political Compass represent?
There are many approaches to the political spectrum, one of which involves two dimensional model of
Political Compass, which explores the view of a person divided by two aspects social (Authoritarian
and Libertarian) and economic (Left and Right view). The model is represented by two axes which
divided the politics into four main areas. The relationship is strong between freedom and authority as
in some cases and instances authority defines freedom in either absolute or minimum. The Political
Compass took into consideration economic view which is sometimes the easiest way to define
somebody s dependence on the system and therefore the individual s freedom to act. The Political
Compass are decided by the two axes of: a. The Left Right axis Taking on the economic approach
Right and Left one can distinguish major debates and differences that distinguish people categorizing
them along the line of those two extremes which divides power to individual or all power to the State.
It is reasonable to say that the Left is defined in desire for an economy to be run and manipulated by
solely the state. It is believed that it is the State s responsibility to ensure welfare for people through
planning and implementing, a trade unionist and communist would be considered Left ideology where
all are equal. Left is understood to also believe in social equality and support for those in

Critical Analysis of Standardization and Adaptation in...
⦁ Introduction:
In internationalization, the most challenging decision faced by the company to choose between
standardization and adaptation in its operations, products or services. It has been one of the important
and most popular research topics since 1960s to understand whether standardization is better or
adaptation for marketing mix in international marketing. The increasing role of international
expansion of business across the borders has also increased the focus of companies towards the
international marketing strategies. It is also a biggest challenge for companies to better understand the
different needs and choice of customers due to the huge differences among the cultures from various
nationalities. This leads to the dilemma in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The least level of adaptation occurs in product attributes such as quality, design, features and
characteristics. Comparing the products related elements with pricing related elements, adaptation is
more used in pricing approach. The key reason for such differences occurs due to the variation among
countries in marketing objective, inflation rate, purchasing power parity, cost structure, government
control and competitive policies. Pricing adjustments are somehow centered around different areas
namely retail prices versus margin, whole price versus margin, pricing method versus strategies, sales
versus payment terms and end user pricing versus margin. On the other hand, promotion related
elements have slightly above average level adaptation.
Amongst the marketing mix elements, promotional elements seem to be more adaptive and even
personal selling is more adaptive than advertisement. The key reason of the same is identified by
Vrontis, Thrassou and Lamprianou (2009) and stated there are few factors responsible for it such as
differences in media

Analysis Of The Book Gulliver s Travels
Quite obviously, Lemuel Gulliver is the most focused on character in Jonathan Swift s novel Gulliver
s Travels, as he is the most characteristically developed. Gulliver is from a middle class English
family and we see all angles of his personality, his morals, and his behavior through the various
situations he finds himself in and his observable conduct and the actions he choses to take in those
situations. Gulliver learned a lot throughout his many journeys, and this leads him to realize more
about humanity. After all of his expeditions to Lilliput, Brobdingnag, Laputa, and Houyhnhnms,
Gulliver s experiences cause his view on mankind to change drastically. At first, we only get to see the
very fundamentals of Gulliver as a person, though as the novel progresses he builds into a more
fleshed out character.
In the preliminary chapters of the novel, Gulliver is portrayed as a relatively average and simple man.
He tells a brief overview of his financial and educational standing in society; He went to Emanuel
College in Cambridge and was an apprentice to Mr. James bates, an eminent surgeon (21). Gulliver
also has a Wife and Family (22), who get introduced, but not further developed as characters.
Although he s the most focused on character in the story, there doesn t necessarily appear to be any
extraordinary thing about him that separates him from other human beings. His actions aren t as
daring, courageous, or bold as one may expect from a main character. Swift uses

Tuna That Go By The Scientific Name Of Thunnus Maccoyii
Tuna that go by the scientific name of Thunnus Maccoyii (Dennis. M et.al, 2010) are one of the most
valuable finfish cultured within Australian and most sought after for sushi within Japan. The waters
generally out from Port Lincoln within Spencer Gulf, South Australia are where the tuna are mainly
cultured in Australia due to the water temperature being ideal for the culture of these highly valued
finfish. Tuna is within the top four of the most valuable cultured aquatic species in Australia especially
Southern Bluefin Tuna (SBT) which are valued at four hundred dollars per fish making the transport
and capture of these fish very important where damage is avoided at all costs. The transport of the
captured fish from the wild in nets back into shallower water where they can then participate in the
ranching stage can lead to serious problems and can bring upon mortalities if done incorrectly.
Ranching is the process of temporally holding wild fish at sea to fatten them on baitfish. (Kirchoff. N
et. al 2011 pg1) This process of transportation from the wild back into the grow out pontoons or cages
for ranching can lead to effects on a fish s health, performance and or even disease and parasite
infection.

My Self Realisation
The block week of the module introduction to creative thinking was honestly one of the best weeks I
have experienced thus far in college. I feel like I learnt more real world life skills in one week than I
have in the last three years of college. Before commencing the week, I was quite apprehensive as to
what it would offer and I wondered what we were going to fill all the time with. However, I quickly
realised with the challenges Dan and his team had lined up for us, too much time was never going to
be an issue, and in fact the problem was nearly always the opposite. When you work in a group and
really open your mind to come up with some great innovative ideas they require a lot of time
processing. I surprisingly found that generating ideas was not a problem for me, the issue was being
decisive when trying to cut down and combine ideas into one really good end product. I quickly learnt
that even what appears to be any easy task requires a substantial amount of time. Therefore, planning
and time management, which I am not very good at, were key factors in every challenge assigned. For
example, a one and half minute long video took us nearly 4 hours to make. I realised throughout the
week, that coming up with and implementing creative ideas is a time consuming process but when you
put your mind to it and work hard, you can achieve a lot in just one day. At times I recognised that my
completer finisher team role hindered this, because I was always trying to perfect the end

Sparta Vs Athens
Sparta vs. Athens daily life.
In the past unit we have discussed about poleis and compared how free men, in both, Sparta and
Athens were in control of political affairs, however we are still left wondering how people really lived
their lives on day to day basis. I feel that the best way to describe it, is by looking at each individual
groups, as society at the time was separated by men, woman, slaves and perhaps even looking at how
children grow up to become part of one of these groups.
The Athenian raised boys and girls very differently. Boy went to school after the age of 7 and learned
how to read and write in addition to arithmetic, poetry and music, in later years, followed by learning
how to become good public speakers and debaters, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Affordable Auto Insurance Case Study Affordable Auto Insurance With a Decent FICO score A great many people know they have a buyer FICO assessment, however few acknowledge there is a comparative positioning utilized via auto and property insurance organizations to rate a client s potential risk and it is critical to getting affordable auto insurance. Approaches to get affordable auto insurance Fittingly, this is called an insurance score, yet it considers more than exactly how immediately you pay your bills. It additionally consolidates information, for example, what number of cases you ve made on past approaches, how every now and again and that they ve been so excessive to past safety net providers. • 3. Essay on Crime and the Media Crime and the Media The public depends on the news media for its understanding of crime. Reportedly three quarters (76%) of the public say, they form their opinions about crime from what they see or read in the news (Dorfman amp; Schiraldi, 2001). After reviewing five hours of reality crime television shows, one is left with a very dismal look on society and a prejudice towards minorities as they are largely depicted as the perpetrators of crime. This new genre commonly referred to as reality television appears to be sweeping the nation by storm. Opinions vary, depending on whom you ask, to what extent reality plays a role versus the selling of a product. Sensationalism, advertising, ratings hype, profiling and fear all comprise the mass ... The suspect, heard on camera being questioned about his past domestic violence charges, his inability to pay child support and finally he is asked about the observed drug purchase. Of the nineteen cases reviewed, drug related crimes were more prevalent. In cases involving African American suspects, the drug of choice was crack cocaine. In suspects that were Caucasian, the drug of choice was methamphetamines. On the episode aired on May 5, 2005, COPS: Bad Girls, the suspect, a Caucasian woman was selling drugs and prostituting (Langley, 2005). With the cameras rolling, the audience is able to overhear, that the suspect is on welfare and has had her children taken away because of her drug habit. The suspect denies the charges, and the officer insists on making the point that she is using her welfare money in order to purchase drugs. In the cases reviewed, the program did not divulge the age. Upon observation, the average estimated age is twenty five. Age did not appear to have any particular correlation to the type of criminal activity. What appeared to be more in play was the socioeconomic scale of the suspects. The average age and circumstances seem to strike a familiar vein with the cases reviewed. On average, the suspects were unemployed, residing with a family member, a history of violence and drug use. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Estate Plan Essay The purpose of this memo is to devise a practical estate plan for our client who has maintained a lucrative sole proprietorship conducting business in commercial real estate. The goal in our tax planning strategies will be to legally transition a portion of the $1 billion in assets to multiple tax saving trusts and a family limited partnership (FLP). Additionally, the client would like to begin transferring proportional ownership of the company to his two children over the next thirty years and sell ten percent of the company to an unrelated third party. Furthermore, these tasks need to minimize the client s taxable estate substantially to reduce his estate tax liability at his death. Moreover, the most proactive method after the FLP is ... Therefore, the first item to address is to begin gifting the maximum amount per year to his children of currently $14,000 per year free of any taxes per IRC § 2503. Anything above that amount per year to the children would trigger IRC § 2501 (a) (1) which will tax any amount over the $14,000 and need to be paid by the gift giver as opposed to the receiver per IRC § 102. Additionally, if the donor gifts more than the yearly dollar limit, IRS form 709 is required to be filed. However, due to IRC § 2001, there may not be any actual tax owed if the amount is less than the lifetime allowable unified credit exemption which is currently $5.45 million in 2016. In addition, other tax planning strategies that are exempted from, taxation are gifts made to educational institutions on behalf of another person and to healthcare facilities to assist individuals when there are extenuating medical expenses not covered by insurance per IRC § 2503 (e) (2) (A) and (B) respectively. Also, bequests made to approved charitable organizations are exempt from the gross estate at their FMV. Furthermore, life insurance policies may also be excluded from the estate if they name a charity as the beneficiary per IRC § 2055. Consequently, the above strategies will begin to reduce the taxable estate that will be valued by its fair market value (FMV) at the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Issue Of Tort Reform Tort reform is a term propagated by companies in the tobacco and asbestos industries vulnerable to legal actions seeking damages for the impacts to their products. Advocates use the terminology to limit the ability and potential damages available to individuals who take legal actions against companies. In 2002, the consumer advocacy organization Center for Justice and Democracy investigated the U.S. tort reform and saw that the rally was actually a massive national PR effort initiated by the tobacco industry to reduce or eliminate exposure to liability law suits. Concerned by the increasing regularity in which some state attorneys general are hiring personal injury lawyers to pursue lawsuits on behalf of their practicing states, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Perhaps one way to analyze the situation is through concepts of loss shifting and loss spreading. I would anticipate such insurers directly or directly support tort reform aimed at limiting the quantum of damages. On the other hand, I would be surprised if they supported substantial removal of the right to sue in tort, because that is part of their business. (Journal of Patient Safety) Anyone with a valid claim stands to receive compensation, but only up to a specified amount, which often leads to dissatisfaction and complaint There are qualitative factors, of course, that add to the complexity of these scenarios. I believe there are some interesting studies around no fault apology that might contribute to a reduction in claims, for example. It would also be interesting to see what improvements collaborative law processes might bring. Both the loss shifting and the loss spreading scenarios are vulnerable to exploitation by players motivated by greed or factors of self advancement. In an ideal world, a civil society could rationally and effectively operate either or both loss shifting or loss spreading models in a sustainable way. This seems unlikely to eventuate in current circumstances, unless there was a momentous shift in consciousness. What seems more likely is that interested parties will struggle to improve their position in the field through statutory ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Who Is A Dynamic Character In The Matrix The movie chosen for the film assignment was The Matrix, it holds a strong plot and is an iconic movie in our American culture. The Matrix shows an impressive ability to keep fluid dynamics throughout the film. Dynamics through character, setting, visuals, etc. Neo has proven to be a round dynamic character, while a character like Morpheus is seen to be quite flat and stagnant. He is the character that provides support for the entire film, although he is not the main character. Morpheus seemed the most ideal character to do an analysis. There are a few major characters throughout this film, all which are significant. After seeing the film, the most important figure that stood out was Morpheus. He was a protagonist along with Neo, and Trinity in the film. His main mission throughout the film was to teach Neo how to become a better version of himself, how to save the human race, and to destroy the matrix. All of those are qualities of an influential and positive character. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He holds a strong personality that demands respect, honesty, trust, and loyalty. At first, it appears as though many of the characters (minor and major) fear this man, but as the story plot thickens it is made clear that, that it is not fear but respect rather. His choices from his past to the present, as well as his demeanor to other characters is what drives the respectable attitude that he carries. Amongst all these, he has simple traits as well, like kindness and hope that show he has almost a delicate side with some vulnerability left in him despite the personal wars he has been through. • 7. The Causes Of The Indo-Pakistani War Of 1947 The Indo Pakistani war of 1947 was the very first war fought between the two counties over Jammu and Kashmir. The war began when Pakistan sent troops from Waziristan into Kashmir in order to obtain their land. When the king of Kashmir, Hari Singh, realized what Pakistan was doing to Kashmir, he pleaded with India for help. Tensions exploded in October 1947 when the Pathan Muslims of Poonch rebelled against the Hindu landowners of Kashmir. On October 22, Pakistan sent troops into the region, brutally taking Muzaffarabad and Uri, burning a swath of destruction wherever they marched, and killing Hindu civilians, ( Indo Pakistani War, 1947 1948, , n.d.). General Yahya Khan, who was the president of Pakistan, refused to transition power to democratically elected Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. These events sparked a massive surge of some 10 million refugees from East Pakistan Bangladesh into West Bengal, India, one of the most impoverished districts of one of the world s poorest nations ( Indo Pakistani War, 1971, n.d.). General Yahya Khan tried to suppress this uprising by systematically eliminating Bengali civilians, religious minorities and armed personnel. The East Pakistanis fled in millions to India to escape from these brutalities. India was thus introduced into the war. Pakistan sent airplanes into Kashmir on December 3rd, 1971. This started a 12 day war between India and Pakistan in which India had the upper hand. India now recognized Bangladesh as a country and at the same time launched an air and ground assault on Dhaka. India now held control over Dhaka and had captured 90,000 Pakistanis as prisoners of war. Pakistan was left with no choice but to declare a ceasefire which ended the war between the two countries. Before watching this film, I assumed that the research that was need to develop a contraceptive would have been more widely accepted and tolerated, instead of protested. Women would have eight, nine, sometimes more than ten children all before the age of thirty five because of the lack of contraceptives. After watching only a few minutes of the film, I understand the reasoning behind the intolerance. In A Farewell to Arms, it is revealed that before he joined the Italians, he lived in America (Hemingway 19). He joined the Italian army during World War 1 because, according to himself, he was in Italy and spoke Italian (Hemingway 19). Catherine Barkley is a volunteer nurse, or V.A.D., in the Italian army (Hemingway 22). She is originally from England (Hemingway 18). Before she met Frederic, she was engaged to marry a man that she grew up with (Hemingway 16). However, he was killed in the Battle of Somme, and Catherine hints that she no longer loves him when she tells Frederic That s the end of it (Hemingway 17). This opens the way for Frederic and Catherine to engage in a romantic relationship. • 11. Mad Scientists and Mad Elements Essay We all know the saying, Don t judge a book by it s cover. Similarly, every element in the periodic table has its own story and its own unique meaning. However, the average high schooler simply associates these elements as something used in their chemistry classes. In fact, the elements seen on the periodic table actually have much more to do in our daily lives and in history than most people know. While giving a whole new perspective to the meaning of Chemistry, author Sam Kean successfully recounts the hidden tales through humor and wit in his bestselling novel The Disappearing Spoon: And Other True Tales of Madness, Love, and the History of the World from the Periodic Table of Elements. Specifically, Chapter 15, An Element of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Roentgen performed many tests, including his colleagues discoveries, which involved painting the plates with a barium compound. When the plates were held in front of an object, Roentgen was able to see through whatever he was holding up. Inevitably, he was astonished by this discovery and immediately suspected that he had gone mad. As readers now, one finds his reaction to the first traces of x ray quite humorous. In fact, this tale is certainly one where the ending is not detrimental, and in contrary the happy opposite. Essentially, Kean focuses on the idea that these certain elements mentioned in the chapter affected the lives of these mad scientists immensely. For the most part, these elements hurt the careers and lives of some scientists, however this was not the case in all of the stories in this chapter. The examples of selenium crazed Crookes, the false hype of the manganese covered megadaltons, the palladium scandal of Pons and Fleischmann and the startling discovery of the x ray by Roentgen successfully conveyed the central theme and concepts. It is very easy for someone to understand the context filled stories and how they connect to what Kean is trying to establish. Additionally, the author generally maintains a balanced bias throughout the chapter. However, with the story of Pons and Fleischmann, one can really sense Kean s negative attitude to these two scientists. He describes the pair as impostors, swindlers, and cheats (263) as well as ... • 12. Nevada Deep Harbor continued to do everything they could (p. 125 WL). Three of the men eventually found their way to the Nevada, where they continued to battle the enemy (p. 125 WL). The Nevada would be the only battleship that managed to get moving that day (p. 244 SW). The ship was damaged, but moving became an absolute necessity due to the burning oil in the water that was getting too close to the ship (p. 244 SW). Once she was underway the ship drew the attention of the enemy planes (p.120 HPW). The planes hit the ship with several bombs, hoping that they could sink her and block the channel of the harbor (p. 120 HPW). They fortunately failed and the Nevada was eventually beached at Hospital Point (p. 120 HPW). The reason that more of the battleships did not attempt to flee the harbor was that they did not have enough power to get themselves moving (p. 103 WL). The other consisted of three people. The March for Science gathered a crowd of people whose reason for standing with signs was that science was under attack . The other protested the systematic abuse of U.S. correctional facilities. In the past month three correctional officers had been assaulted and one inmate had been murdered within the state of Nebraska. Zimbardo, the same man who ran the Stanford Prison Experiment, said in an interview with the New York Times, Prisons tend to be brutal and abusive places unless great effort is made to control the guards base impulses. It s not that we put bad apples in a good barrel. We put good apples in a bad barrel. The barrel corrupts anything that it touches (Swhwartz, 2004 p. 2). A professor of Law at Loyola University, Marcy Strauss, studies criminal procedure and wrote a forty two page manuscript on the lessons that should be discussed beyond news articles. Strauss said of Abu Ghraib, Undoubtedly, these factors [poor training of guards, poor oversight and horrendous conditions] played a major role in facilitating the abuse. Correcting these conditions is imperative. But, to end the introspection there would be a mistake (Strauss, 2005 p.9). The idea that people could be malignant under specific circumstances has been proven by Milgrams studies and this idea is now apparent in real life. Thus, the concern for prisons, as pointed out by both Zimbardo and Strauss, cannot simply be that the guards or correctional officers do not abuse people in the future. The issue is that the maltreatment and indignity in Abu Ghraib was a result of the poor foundation of the U.S. correctional system (Strauss, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 19. Gender Countertype In The Media A stereotype is typically a negative assumption on an individual or social group. They are often magnified opinions held by a range of people on teenagers, genders, belief and race. The binary opposite to stereotypes are countertypes , an example of a countertype is that all young female girls are pleasant and beautiful. The media has always taught us that women belong in the kitchen, women can t handle a day s work and that we live in a man s world because we as women, are weak, emotional house wives. On the other hand, we are taught that men are the brave, stoical, hard working money makers. Thankfully, due to many equality protests and the suffragette movement there has been a rise in feminism and women support. Feminism is the process in which women s rights are influenced to the public to make decisions on the equality of both males and females. The people who support feminism are known as feminists. Jane Bailey wrote about women on stereotypes within social media and explains how it is a platform for women to freely express themselves. Gender stereotyping used to happen more often in the media than it does nowadays, this is for the reason that in today s society is frowned upon and seen as inappropriate by a mass audience. Introduction Development within artificial intelligence (AI) has produced machines or computers that can imitate human like understanding and intelligence. What is functionalism? Functionalism is the theory that focuses on the functional role. What is key to the functionalist is the function, or the role the function plays in cognitive systems. After the Civil War, the 13th, 14th, and 15th Constitutional amendments were passed which aided newly freed slaves in being equally treated under the law, or so the story goes. The fact of the matter is that even after the Emancipation Proclamation and after the amendments, slavery in the United States was still legal and not only that, but it took on a much different form. Looking at the social order at the time is important to understanding what is to come. While the slaves were now free and able to do as they pleased, there was still a deeply embedded racism within the minds of Southern whites. Just because blacks had fought in the Civil War did not suddenly mean that the perception of blacks had changed; rather to the Southern elites, they still viewed blacks as inferior and only good for labor, longing to perpetuate the slave system but within a new industrial framework seeing as how the agricultural framework had been destroyed. • 28. Themes In The Yellow Birds By Kevin Powers In the novel, The Yellow Birds by Kevin Powers, several major themes and illustrations present themselves throughout the storyline and strongly connect to previous readings and films from class. The purpose of this book review will be to identify these illustrations, explain why they are important, identify how these themes are connected to previous materials, and then determine if a movie could accurately represent the book. As such, I argue that this book illustrates ideas of the loss of innocence, loss of faith in humanity, and dust symbolizing the war these soldiers are fighting and how it consumes all. I will then further my argument by the identification of themes such as neorealism, heroism, and PTSD. However, it is first important to identify the special narrative structure of the book, which is used to create these illustrations and themes. The narrative structure that Kevin Powers uses is the first person from Private Brandon Bartle s point of view. However, the structure of the story doesn t follow a classical narrative, but instead follows an alternative narrative where it bounces back and forth between Private Bartle s time in Al Tafar, Iraq and when he is on leave at home in Richmond, Virginia (Corrigan, 2015). This narrative style allows various illustrations and themes to present themselves with the first being the loss of innocence is the path to salvation in war. Analysis Of The Book Gulliver s Travels Quite obviously, Lemuel Gulliver is the most focused on character in Jonathan Swift s novel Gulliver s Travels, as he is the most characteristically developed. Gulliver is from a middle class English family and we see all angles of his personality, his morals, and his behavior through the various situations he finds himself in and his observable conduct and the actions he choses to take in those situations. Gulliver learned a lot throughout his many journeys, and this leads him to realize more about humanity. After all of his expeditions to Lilliput, Brobdingnag, Laputa, and Houyhnhnms, Gulliver s experiences cause his view on mankind to change drastically. In the preliminary chapters of the novel, Gulliver is portrayed as a relatively average and simple man. He tells a brief overview of his financial and educational standing in society; He went to Emanuel College in Cambridge and was an apprentice to Mr. James bates, an eminent surgeon (21).
