REPORTED   SPEECH It is an indirect way of talking or it is also called Indirect Speech. We use it when we want to repeat what someone else says or said
REPORTED   SPEECH When the  reported verb (say or tell) is in present or future, the sentence  stays in the same tense.  Examples: “ I am sick” He  says  he is sick “ I am sick” He  will say  he is sick
REPORTED   SPEECH When the reported verb is in past, there are many changes in the tense according to the tense given in the sentences. Becomes Present    “ past Present continuous   “ past   continuous past     “ past perfect Present perfect     “ past perfect will/can/may   “  would/could/might Am/is/are going to   “ was/were going to Past continuous   “ past perfect continuous Must   “ had to  *Would, Could, Might and past perfect remains the same.
