- 4. There are examples of receivables: 1. Traditional accounts receivable Also called trade debtors or trade accounts. It is not supported by a promissory note and normally supported by a credit invoice issued by the company and has credit terms. it serves as the basis of accounting dept. whether costumers account is not yet due or past sue already, recognizing an impairement loss arising from the recievable account.
- 5. 2. Notes receivable Is supported by a format promise to pay in the form of note. 3. Loans Receivable Is a receivable arising from the banks and other financial institution.
- 6. 1. Trade discount- a discount that is not recorded in the books of account. This is an account granted to a costumer because of the bulk order they made. (discounts) 2. Cash discounts – a discount that is recorded on the book. This will encourage costumer to pay on time because if they pay early or within the credit terms, they can avail the discount.

- 8. There arte two types of returns: 1. Sales Returns- the goods which the costumer have physically returned. This may be a matter of wrong shipment or wrong deliveries of the merchandisers: thus the merchandise were physically returned to the company or substandard merchandise where delivered to them. 2. Sales allowances – are goods that are delivered to the costumers but are defective. For this reason the company agrees to reduce receivable account from the costumer by granting sales allowance. Instead of physic ally returning the merchandise , the costumer agrees to accept the delivery at returned prices.
