bacteria-prokaryotes) or multicellular (including plants and animals-Eukaryotes). The number of
cells in plants and animals varies from species to species. Therefore human contains more than
10 trillion cells.
There are many cells in an individual, which performs several functions throughout the life. The
size and the shape of the cell range from millimeter to microns, which are generally based on the
type of function that it performs. A cell generally varies in their shapes. A few cells are in
spherical, rod, flat, concave, curved, rectangular and oval shaped. Most of the plant and animal
cells are visible only under microscope, with dimensions between 1 and 100 micrometers.

The basic structure of all cells, whether prokaryotes and eukaryotes are the same. All cells have
an outer layer called plasma membrane. The plasma membrane holds the cell together and allows
the passage of substances in and out of the cell.

LOCLBus Ltd are a bus operator in the East of England, in the UK. With a fleet size of 60 vehicles, ranging from large minibuses to 60 seater vehicles, they are a well known independent operator in the region, second only to the main contractor, First Group who operate the main local authority contracts in the region.
In response to demand from customers and the local authorities who contract LOCLBus to operate key services on their behalf, the management team have decided at a recent board meeting to stop accepting cash payments on all services where customers pay the driver (so not, for instance on school services) and replace cash with card payments and, they hope an App for mobile devices. The board realise this is a huge change for them, as since their inauguration in 1972, the only way they have accepted payment is via cash and it totals £2.7m per year, around 40% of their revenue (the rest being from local authority payments and other commercial contracts).

Black soldiers serving in the Philippines to put down the insurgency against the United States sent letters to African American newspapers relating their experiences on the islands. Some disheartened soldiers found that the color line extended far beyond the boundaries of the United States, while others saw action in the Philippines as a chance to prove their patriotism and their equality. The first and third letters below were published in the Richmond Planet on December 30, 1899, and December 22, 1900, respectively.
