Remember: When it comes time to submit Unit 2 Journals, please submit ONE document including all of the Unit 2 Journals. Remember that each journal entry should be 1-page double-spaced (longer is just fine... 1 page represents the minimum)... [You can also submit any journals handwritten - so if you are submitting some entries handwritten, just note that on your uploaded journal document]. Use the questions below to focus your journals on analyzing and applying what was most relevant for you in terms of your own intercultural relations, growth, and learning. 1 - Redundancia (double-verb language) activity reaction and reflection 2 - Low-Context communication examples (photos) and explanation (take at least 2-3 photos of low context communication messages you encounter "out there" in your world (at school, work, stores, bus stops, gas stations, on the street, etc...). Include your images with captions indicating the location description, as well as your own explanation and thoughts about low context communication. Be sure to include your 2 photos in your journal entry. 3 - Unit 2 Reading Reaction – Write a reaction to your chosen reading for this unit… what you found most interesting, how you see the ideas in the reading relating to class concepts, how you would apply ideas from the reading in real life, etc. The readings are posted under "Course Materials" on BB as pdfs. Just choose ONE to read based on your personal interest and write a 1-page journal reaction to the reading 4 - Toothpicks communication styles activity reaction and reflection 5 - Application of the COM Styles Descriptor Checklist to a communication experience you had (we did this in class to 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding.' Pick an experience you have had and apply 3 or more specific items from the Descriptor Checklist to your experience). Explain your experience in detail and your analysis of the interaction - and why there was a ‘disconnect’ or communication barrier based on communication style differences. .
