3. E. Presenting the Lesson Why is it important to study religion? Religion has existed since the earliest time of human history. In all parts of the world where humans
live, religion exists. The teachings of a specific religion in which we belong influence our beliefs, values, and worldview. Having an
understanding of the nature of religion enlightens us about the common grounds that link believers in examining the riddles of life and
death, as well as why or how people seek spiritual inspiration.
We can all see how religion continues to play a major part in world politics in the twenty-first century, as seen by the different political
disputes that stem from religious differences. Recognizing religion's inherent characteristics allows us to understand better the diverse
ideas and practices that shape humanity's spiritual needs.
