Introduction
Tea is a common drink nowadays and is very popular in different countries and even countries in
Europe. However, every country has a different tea culture which has its origins.
The history of tea culture varies and every culture would like to promote a different spirit or attitude.
Besides, different tea culture use different types of tea leaves and utensils to represent itself.
China, Japan and Korea are neighbors geographically and they all have tea culture. In the following, it
is going to compare the tea culture of China, Japan and Korea in history, culture and utensils.
The history of tea and variety
Chinese Tea Ceremony was called Chadao and started from Tang Dynasty at 841 AD year. Tea is one
of the seven basic daily necessities, also is an indispensable thing for Chinese. Tea tree was first found
at Yunnan Kweichow Plateau in Southwest area of China. Tea in China was sweetish taste and was

Vitamin A and Multiple Scolorosis
Vitamin A and Multiple Sclerosis
There is countless research that widely associates vitamin D and vitamin A in possibly decreasing
adverse effects of multiple sclerosis (MS). Although, vitamin A is not as popular in research as
vitamin D it has shown in certain trials to be beneficial to patients suffering from MS, but more
commonly there is a positive link to vitamin A in animal trials of treating experimental autoimmune
encephalitis (EAE) the animal version of MS, . Vitamin A is a fat soluble vitamin that can function in
immunological responses as well as brain development. This vitamin is crucial for vision, gene
transcription, and bone metabolism (7). Vitamin A may help in MS by lowering inflammation as well
as increasing the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The results of the double blind randomized trial showed that there was no significant difference in
those taking vitamin A from the placebo group, since values in lipid profiles and fasting profiles did
not provide any justifiable evidence in vitamin A being beneficial in MS. However, one surprising
result came from the CRP values, or the inflammation marker, by showing an increase in the vitamin
A group in comparison to the placebo group. Although, the increase was still in the normal range it
was still an unexpected outcome from the study. Even though vitamin A s effect on Th1 and Th2 cells
had the possibility of improving effects of MS, the trial concluded that there was no clinical evidence
to vitamin A s role in minimizing the harmful effects of MS (2).
A prospective study was conducted by the Nurses Health Study, which tested vitamin A intake in the
risk of women. The results proved no support for dietary carotenoids such as alpha carotene or beta
carotene in lowering the risk of MS in women (7). Even though this was one of the few large scale
studies comprising of 81, 683 women inspected throughout 12 years (7) the scientific data proved no
association to a beneficial role of vitamin A intake to MS risk in women.
Myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG) is the only protein expressed in the CNS, so its response
to T cells may be a factor in the etiology of MS (3). A double blind study was

Glass Menagerie Symbolism Essay
In his drama, The Glass Menagerie, Tennessee Williams uses symbolism in order to develop multi
faceted characters and to display the recurring themes of the play. These various symbols appear
throughout the entire piece, and they are usually disguised as objects or imagery. They allow the
reader to know the characters #8217; personalities, and their true inside characteristics. These symbols
also add to the major themes, which develop as the play gains momentum. In the drama, symbols play
the most important role. One of the most recurring symbols is the glass menagerie itself. It consists of
glass animals frozen in form and it is housed at the Wingfield #8217;s apartment. The glass menagerie

It is obvious that Laura has changed, but this change does not become permanent. Just as the
menagerie represents Laura, it also holds significance for Laura #8217;s mother, Amanda. Throughout
the drama, Amanda tells her children about the life she lived when she was young and living at Blue
Mountain. She recalls her dozens of gentlemen callers and her popularity at the time. Seeing how time
has changed for Amanda from her youth to the time presented in the play, it is plain to understand why
she would try to relive her past. Amanda wishes that her life would be as simple and enjoyable as it
was when she was young. She also wants to create such a happy childhood for her two children.
Amanda tries to force upon her views to Laura and Tom, and in turn wants to live in the past. She
yearns for Laura to have gentlemen callers as she had, and tries to make this dream a reality. #8220;It
is Amanda who names Laura #8217;s collection a #8216;glass menagerie, #8217; in which animal
drives are frozen into esthetic objects, and it is she who longs for gentlemen callers in an ungentle
world #8221; (Cohn 101). Amanda tries to freeze her life to preserve the girl she once was. The glass
menagerie, being frozen in time, symbolizes Amanda #8217;s wishes for Laura to live the life Amanda
once had. One specific member of the glass menagerie, the unicorn, plays an important part in

Abstract
Centuries ago, ancient civilizations learned how to take plants that they found flourishing in nearby
areas and grow them conveniently for their own use. The advancement of technology, and the
evolution of farming practices has created a great variance from the simplistic idea of putting a seed in
the ground, adding some water, and hoping it will grow. Currently, a debate amongst the farming

By rotating crops, studies have shown that it can increase the yield, lower the cost of crop production,
and decrease the amount of additives needed to make a strong crop. Rotation has also been known to
benefit physical properties of the soil like tilts, and bulk density, and also contribute to efficient use of
plant nutrients found in soil.
The organic practice of using cover crops, also known as green manure, is done to feed and provide
micro flora and fauna in the soil with nutrients. Cover cropping prevents the growth of problematic
bacteria, diseases, and insects by supplying beneficial organisms the foundation they need to thrive in
the soil. For centuries farmers have used green manure, but in recent times it has been replaced by the
use of herbicides and fertilizers. This practice has multiple benefits for the soil including soil tilth,
water infiltration, and reduction of sealing. It provides erosion control, adds to the fertility of
5
the soil, suppresses the growth of weeds, and encourages the growth of beneficial insects.
There are two main types of green manure, legumes and non legumes. Legumes benefit the soil by
adding much needed Nitrogen, it does this by fixing atmospheric Nitrogen into a form plants can use.
Non legumes recycle excess Nitrogen into Phosphorus and
Potassium, two other highly need nutrients for the success of crops. The use of a cover crop does
require a little planning

Western hemisphere retaliated, banned the ideology and would persecute anyone who would believe

Gilgamesh Essay
Topical Essay 1
The story of Gilgamesh depicts all of the heroic triumphs and heart breaking pitfalls a heroic narrative
should depict to be able to relate to today s audience. However, Gilgamesh was once considered a lost
and forgotten piece of literature for thousands of years, so there is a tremendous gap between the time
it was created and the time it was translated into language that today s audience can understand. That
gap in history makes several aspects of the story of Gilgamesh strange and unfamiliar because what
we now know about ancient Middle Eastern cultures and languages is a lot less than what we know
about the cultures that prospered after ancient Middle Eastern cultures. Much of the content in the

However, the prostitute was depicted as a nurturer and a symbol of pleasure. The prostitute seduced
Enkidu and taught him how to function properly in human society. The prostitute also played a major
role in Enkidu and Gilgamesh becoming friends because she led Enkidu to Uruk, which was the place
Gilgamesh ruled. The way the story of Gilgamesh ended was a bit strange to me as well because
typical heroic narratives end in heroism and triumph. In the story of Gilgamesh Gilgamesh doesn t
reach his goal of attaining eternal life at the end, instead he fails miserably and meets the inevitable
fate of death. I expected him to overcome the tremendous odds that were stacked against him and
victoriously become immortal. Today s audience is used to the hero overcoming what most consider
impossible at the end of a story. Although I found the story of Gilgamesh to be somewhat strange it
contained several familiar elements that are prevalent in many heroic tales from the past and present.
One familiar element was what some people refer to as the under dog factor. Gilgamesh and Enkidu
embarked upon the most grueling and epic journey of their lives just to find the vicious giant named
Humbaba. The way that Humbaba was described in the story made you feel like there is no way
possible he can be defeated. This makes the audience want to side with the lesser opponents because

Cuckoo Research Paper
The common cuckoo can be recognized by its soft, two note call: cuc koo, cuc koo. This gentle song
may make the bird seem innocent. However, the cuckoo is guilty of using a few cunning schemes to
advance its own interests. Specifically, cuckoo birds employ a technique known as mimicry. This
means that they copy the physical, and behavioral patterns of other animals to improve their own
chances at survival. Thanks to these wily tricks, common cuckoos have managed to thrive in many
parts of the world.
One key way that cuckoos mimic other animals is by copying their physical appearance. Cuckoos

Write About the Ways in Which Auden Tells the Story in...
I feel that Auden tells the story of Miss Edith Gee extremely well, using a wide variety of literary
techniques to make it an interesting but disturbingly thought provoking read. The story shows how our
protagonist is surely going about her life, in the eyes of others, as if nothing is wrong, but when she is
alone she wonders if anyone does care about her.
The initial exposition is extremely sympathetic towards Miss Gee. Now let me tell you a little story
about Miss Edith Gee is a cruel way to open the narrative as Auden instantly belittles her character
and makes her seem insignificant, whereas she is actually the main, if not only character we meet in
detail. This technique is effectives the reader then feels that she is ... Show more content on

This make me, as a reader feel that she is pessimistic and doesn t really stop thinking and relax for just
a moment. In this same stanza, at line 15, the back pedal brake is described as harsh . This is effective
imagery as it has two different connotations. There could be the fact that it is a hard and rusty back
pedal brake, but there is also the metaphor that she is on a bike ride, a symbol for her monotonous life,
and she is constantly held back by this brake that is stiff and harsh when triggered, possibly meaning
that she is held back in life by the way she lives her life and how dull it is.
The way in which irony is introduced in stanza 5, where Auden says that Miss Edith Gee attends St.
Aloysius church, is clever because St Aloysius overcame his disease of the plague, whereas Miss Gee
has a substantially different fate. This again, may be seen by some to be Auden mocking Edith Gee
and her insignificant life.
Miss Gee looks for guidance as she gazes up to the stars and dialogue is introduced with Does anyone
care that I live in Clevedon Terrace on one hundred pounds a year? She seems to be crying out for
attention or perhaps someone to care for her and love her, but it seems that she is cruelly denied this
desire.
She does find something to bury her thoughts in, and it so happens to be the vicar of her local church,
whom she has sexual fantasies and desires about. Her desires start off to

Estimation of Ascorbic Acid
Title: Estimation of Ascorbic acid
Aim: To determine the ascorbic acid content of canned apple and orange juice To determine the
volume of canned juice necessary to provide 75mg of Vitamin C
Introduction:
For the estimation of ascorbic acid, the method used involved the titration of the ascorbic acid, in the
presence of a redox indicator 2,6 dichlorophenol indophenol (DCPIP) which acts as both an oxidant so
as to oxidise the ascorbic acid to dehydroascorbic acid, and it acts as an indicator to determine the end
point of the titration. The samples of ascorbic acid used have to be made acidic first by adding
metaphosphoric acid to remove proteins and ferric ions which would precipitate.
*This diagram was located on the website: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
52.60mL of apple juice solution contains 1.775 x 10 6 moles of acetic acid
1mL of apple juice solution contains 1.755 x 10 6/52.6 = 3.3 x 10 8 moles of acetic acid
Mass of 3.3 x 10 8 moles of ascorbic acid = 3.3 x 10 8 x 176g = 5.808 x 10 6g = 5.808 x 10 3 mg/mL
Volume of apple juice necessary to provide 75mg of vitamin C = (75/5.808 x 10 3) x 1000 = 12.9L
Discussion:
In this experiment the ascorbic acid content of canned orange juice and apple juice were determined
via titrimetric analysis. The indicator used was 2,6 dichlorophenol indophenol which also acts as an
oxidising agent to oxidise the ascorbic acid. Since ascorbic acid is a potent reducing agent, it would
become oxidised very quickly, so to reduce the chances of missing the end point of the titration, the
samples used were diluted with distilled water.
Before the samples were titrated they were acidified with glacial acetic acid since they would be
heavily diluted. Also 5% metaphosphoric acid was added to prevent the precipitation of proteins and
ferric ions which would interfere with the end point of the titration. The results obtained show that it
takes 8.5L of canned orange juice and 12.9L of canned apple juice to provide the

How Can Workforce Conflict With Former Generations Be...
Executive Summary: The workforce today is employed by four generations. Each generation brings its
own perspective and values to the job. The purpose of this Qualitative Research was to identify
strategies that companies are using to resolve / address generational conflict in the workplace. This
research was done by a Qualitative Research Method focusing on case studies. It follows a review of
difference on each group generation, literature on generations in the workplace. Introduction: This
study needs to be conducted because this is the first time ever that we see four different generations in
our workforce working side by side. The purpose of this qualitative study is to identify strategies to
address generational conflict in the workplace. What does it feel to work with other generations? How
can workforce conflict with former generations be reduced? How can we close the generation gap?
Employees from different generations may have varying expectations of what they want (or value )
from the workplace, both from an intrinsic and extrinsic standpoint, and therefore may approach work,
and how they prefer to be motivated, differently. (Lester, S. W., Standifer, R. L., Schultz, N. J.,
Windsor, J. M. (2012)). So far there is no magic book on how managers can guide themselves to better
incorporate each generation and have them work together. Some research suggests alternatives

Essay on Military Draft
Military Draft
According to the U.S. Department of Defense, the United States military now maintains a force of
around 1.4 million active duty personnel. In times of relative peace, this is sufficient to protect U.S.
interests at home and abroad. But when the United States engages in a larger scale operation, the
military may need to call up reserve forces. In a major conflict, the United States may even institute
the draft, drawing soldiers from the general civilian population.
The idea of a military draft, also called conscription, has been around in one form or another since
ancient times. In its relatively short history, the United States has implemented a number of different
conscription systems to fill its military ranks in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

psychiatric institution, handicapped men who cannot function in public, and inmates.
All other men between 18 and 25 are legally required to register with the SSS within 30 days of
reaching eligibility. Men can register via mail, over the Internet, at the post office or with a high

The government may prosecute a potential draftee who does not register with the SSS. If convicted,
the man would face up to five years in jail and a fine of up to $250,000. Today, the government is
unlikely to take such extreme action. Instead, it encourages registration by withholding government
benefits from potential draftees in violation. This includes federal financial aid for

Gender Roles In Northanger Abbey And Frances Burney
Everywhere we look, we see differences in race, gender, and status. Some people are held to a higher
standard and are given more privilege than others. This inequality is seen today and was seen
throughout the 18th century. Not many women have the courage to speak out about what happens, but
two brave female authors have done so. Jane Austen wrote Northanger Abbey and Frances Burney
wrote Evelina, and both novels bring to light the injustices women face. Both female authors used the
negative aspect of gender roles that come along with growing up as female to show that an individual
can surpass limitations and stereotypes through personal strength.
Northanger Abbey is a typical romance novel that has the ending that all readers anticipate the girl
falls in love with the boy and they live happily ever after. However, Catherine grows as an individual
and surpasses the stereotypical characteristics of a female during the time period. The novel brings to
light the gender roles that were instilled during the 18th century by using male characters that strongly
enforce what is believe during that time period.
Henry Tilney says, In marriage, the man is supposed to provide for the support of the woman; the
woman to make the home agreeable to the man; he is to purvey and she is to smile. But in dancing,
their duties are exactly changed; the agreeableness, the compliance, are expected from him, while she
furnishes the fan and the lavender water. (Austen 73). Henry jokingly

Fossil Fuel And Its Effects On The World Economy
In the current era, fossil fuel is a necessity in our everyday life, for not only it is used as an energy
source, but also due to the high rate of dependability on the fuel itself. The recent drop in oil prices
caused an enormous impact on the world economy, especially to the countries that are highly
dependent on the fuel industry. The United States also are affected by this situation. One suggestion
and a major change, in order to reduce the high dependency on the fossil fuel and to overcome the
problems related to the usage of fossil fuel, is to start the wide use of biofuel as the fossil fuel
replacement. The impact of this change, and also a huge improvement, not only will help to stabilize
the economy, but also can help in reducing the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Biofuel is a fuel
produced from any fats sources, obtained from either animals or plants, and is a renewable and
environmental friendly source of energy. How can we say the biofuel is environmental friendly?
According to Vasudevan, Palligarnai T and Michael Briggs:
Since biodiesel is made entirely from vegetable oil or animal fats, it is renewable and biodegradable.
Biodiesel also contains very little sulfur, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, and metals. Petroleum
derived diesel fuels can contain up to 20% polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. For an equivalent
number of carbon atoms, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons are up to three orders of magnitude more
soluble in water than straight chain aliphatics.

of mail that has been sent physically, has been slowly dissipating over the last decade or so. From
2008 to 2009, the mail volume dropped by 30 billion, which is a drastic change compared to the 4 or 5
billion fluctuation between previous years (Source B). As it is evident, the postal system has changed
with our growing need for faster forms of transportation of information subsided by email. The postal
system has been extremely affected by our advances in technology and it is time that we understand
that this process was inevitable, and the USPS needs to be restructured by doing Sunday delivery, and
strategically closing branches to save money and accommodate to the needs of a changing world .
The major point of competition for the USPS would have to be email, and in some cases, other postal
services (Source E). Over the years whenever the postal service was in its prime, it kept much of our
communication constant, whether mail was being sent from person to person, or even from the
government to the citizens of the U.S. (Source F). Many have worried that without permanent record
of things such as letters, bills, and other information sent through postage, we will lose

The Story of J.D. Salinger
The Story of J. D. Salinger J. D. Salinger became one of the most popular and known American
authors in America today. Up to this day students from all over the country have read and purchased
the novel The Catcher in the Rye which was a novel that was not so long ago controversial due to
vulgar language, sexual references, and unacceptable behavior; parents were concerned that J. D.
Salinger s novel was going to influence their children. Salinger was one of many authors that stood
out more from a group of authors that wrote simply about society. Salinger on the other hand criticised
the society by using the word phony most of the time. The word phony meant fake, false, and
fraudulent and by the 1950 s the word became used more and more frequently. Some of Salinger s
famous pieces of work like Nine Stories, Franny and Zooey, The Catcher in the Rye , and Raise High
the Roof Beam, Carpenters and Seymour: An Introduction presented themes such as love, war, death,
and the reminiscing of something. The themes widely connected to J. D. Salinger by reason of his
personal experiences and character traits . The success of J. D. Salinger was reached by personally
experiencing the drafting to war and actively writing about his surroundings.
Jerome David Salinger, the talented author born in New York had a decent stable life growing up with
both of his parents and sister. Jerome David Salinger lived comfortable throughout his childhood.

Rwanda Civil War
Gun shots! Chanting killing songs! There are dead bodies everywhere. That s what one would see if
one took a trip to Rwanda in the year 1994. There was an enormous amount of people who were being
killed in Rwanda. This broke out to be a civil war against their two major ethnic groups. The account
of all of the killings became known as the Rwandan Genocide. Rwanda s people were in great danger,
and no one was there to help. The United Nations, which is a global organization with a mission to
promote peace throughout the world, failed to help the people of this country. The UN failed to end
the Rwandan Civil War by ignoring the warnings that there could be massive killings breaking out,
also by decreasing the number of troops that were in Rwanda during the civil war, and sending the
number of troops that were needed in Rwanda after the war ended.
On the UN website, it states, The Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Genocide defines

The Liberal World Order Essay examples
The Liberal World Order
The liberal world order is as much an economic idea, as it is a political one. The liberal world order is
very much based on the rule of law. Such things are apparent in a liberal world order such as
individual liberties, private property and free trade.
According to Ludwig von Mises, a liberal world order was inseparable from liberal economic policies:
A nation s policy forms an integral whole. Foreign policy and domestic policy are closely linked
together, they condition each other. Economic nationalism is the corollary of the present day domestic
policies of government interference with business and of national planning, as free trade was the
complement of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first of these stated by Mises was a free market for labour, in other words, the level of wages and
conditions should be set by the employers, after negotiation with the employees, rather than being
controlled by the government.
The second economic constraint set out by Mises was that there should be a market economy, whereby
the forces in the market should be left to work freely, that supply and demand should be left to
determine price rather than the government regulating this.
Thirdly, free trade is seen as an essential aspect of a liberal world order, he stated that it must be free
to import and export between countries, with out control by governments.
Finally, there must be a free market monetary system in place, in that the government must not control
either the value or the flow of money in the economy
Mises also argued that, if a country s domestic economic activity was to be fully privatised, this would
mean that the economic activity in that country would effectively be free from political influences, as
it would not be the government controlling it.
He argued that the way to attain peace and prosperity was not by governing and controlling, but rather
by limiting the level of governance, and that society would naturally sort itself out.
This idea was also agreed by Ricardo:

1. Complete the following statements.
The kidney is referred to as an excretory organ because it excretes 1 wastes. It is also a major

9. Explain why the glomerulus is such a high pressure capillary bed. It is both fed and drained by
arterioles (which are highpressure vessels compared to venules), and the afferent arteriole has a larger
diameter than the efferent arteriole.
How does its high pressure condition aid its function of filtrate formation? The higher the capillary
pressure, the more filtrate will be formed.

Their possession of dense microvilli (especially the PCT cells).

Auguste Rodin The Thinker Summary
The Thinker by Auguste Robin is set to represent the Human man. It s very positioning symbolizes the
very embodiment of a simple thought. In his lifetime, Rodin made at least 10 castings of The Thinker .
However, that number has grown to over 21. You can find them all over the world, from the Rodin
Museum in Paris to the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena, Calif., to the Rodin Museum at the
Philadelphia Museum of Art. Many of the bronze copies, as well as the original plasters for this piece,
have been displayed in a central position so that visitors can see it from every conceivable angle. A
marvel of the creative world. The style which Auguste Rodin developed throughout his professional
life can in part be attributed to his artistic education or the lack of it in any formal capacity. The
Thinker by Auguste Rodin is set to represent the Human man.
Rodin s choice to make his Thinking Man nude to follow in the style of the heroic nudes of
Michelangelo and his Renaissance style of Sculpting. Also, Auguste Rodin created The Thinker in a
way that mirrors the heroes of Michelangelo. The nude figure is muscular, taunt, and valiant. This
demonstrates to the viewer the high regard with which Rodin held Dante and creative thinkers in
general. The way the body is placed is how the body was cast. Sitting and thinking with his entire
body. Designed as the total thinking machine. A visual document of a thought. When Rodin cast The

Patriotism And Rock And Roll
Patriotism and Rock and Roll
Music is the root of everything and plays in the hearts of everyone. Music can display an important
message in the words that are said. What seems to have been a pretty big theme across all genres is
patriotism. When people think of patriotic music, they may think Yankee Doodle or Star Spangled
Banner but patriotic music doesn t necessarily mean it has to mention anything about a country; it
could simply describe the love and beauty of a region or to defend beliefs that we as people may have.
During the years between 1967 and 1995, probably some of the best music was produced. A few
classic groups and individual artist such as, Lynryd Skynryd, Louis Armstrong and Lee Greenwood
produced memorable ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lynyrd Skynryd wrote this song in response to Neil Young s song Southern Man which was written
with the belief that all southern states were still very much into racism and put most the blame on the
state of Alabama. Sweet Home Alabama contains one verse in response to Young that through the
turmoil there is still a great sense of southern pride. Southern Man and Sweet Home Alabama gives
the impression of a feud of sorts between Skynyrd and Young; they were actually big fans of each
other and it was always good natured fun. On the last Skynyrd album before his death Street Survivors
, Ronnie Van Zant is wearing a Neil Young T on the cover. He also wore one of Young s shirts on stage
during performances. (Sweet Home Alabama, 2016). A deadly plane crash claimed the lives of Ronnie
VanZant, guitarist Steve Gaines, vocalist Cassie Gaines, road manager Dean Kilpatrick in October
1977. (RONNIE VANZANT) Neil Young actually performed Sweet Home Alabama once, as a tribute
to Ronnie VanZant. On a trip to Alabama, you can hear this song being played all through the state!
Although Southern Rock was a popular genre when producing patriotic music, Louis Armstrong put
an interesting twist when he threw jazz into the equation. Louis Armstrong, world renowned jazz
artist, grew up in the music center of the U.S.; New Orleans. He was born extremely poor and had the
childhood no child should live through. Armstrong got his musical start when he was sent to a home

The Tragic Hero Of Euripides Greek Literature
In Greek literature, tragedies tend to have a traditional format: a tragic hero, reversal of fortune due to
a tragic flaw, moment of recognition, and catharsis. In order to be considered a tragic hero, the
character must be born noble, is usually a ruler, and has a tragic flaw which causes peripety. Typically,
the hero s realization of self inflicted doom is what allows a release of emotions. This raises a question
of who the tragic hero is in Medea. The tragic hero is thought to be Jason, however there is an
argument that he has no realization that his demise is due to his own flaw which does not allow
catharsis. In Euripides greek play, the audience experiences catharsis as they watch the secondary
characters, Medea, Creusa, and Jason and Medea s sons suffer as a result of Jason s hamartia; striving
for power. These secondary characters experience the true suffering and therefore they are what allow
the reader to reach catharsis. In the beginning of the text, Jason abandons Medea for another woman.
Medea feels an overwhelming sense of heartbreak and anger because she not only loved Jason but she
did everything for him; she went against her father, ran away from her home, killed her brother, and
helped him succeed on his journeys according to the readings of Edith Hamilton s The Quest of the
Golden Fleece. Medea also makes is clear how she was a loving and providing wife to him and
definitely not deserving of abandonment. And I have loved him and borne him sons;

Life is beauty, admire it. Life is a dream, realize it. Life is wealth, keep it. Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is a song, sing it. Life is too precious, do not destroy it. Life is life, fight for it! were the lines of

Mismanaged layoffs can go horribly wrong. The effect of mismanaged LAYOFFs on the remaining

mitigation strategies. We think that the problem with this article is that not enough managers or HR
personal, know how to let a person go from their employment effectively. They sometimes don t

Trying to make a bad situation easier is often more disrespectful than being direct. Firing is something
that is done privately and should be kept confident between the manager and the employee being let
go. If a manager is letting, someone go for the right reasons the example should be evident to the
employees as cause and effect; being held accountable for their actions. If the Manager is abusing
their hiring/firing authority that would affect employee morale; forced silence, uncertainty, etc.
Problem Solutions The options that were covered in the group discussion I feel very informative.
When it comes to releasing someone, whether it is a termination or a layoff, it was discussed if
training for those types of situations would be suitable, or if one could even prepare to carry out
something of that delicate nature. You can train someone how to do anything, but that does not
necessarily mean it will be conducted in the manner it was taught. I think it all highly depends on the
situation and the individual who is delivering the news to the employee. The author s best point is one
of the best solutions; transparency. Managers should allow people the autonomy of reacting, working
through, and coping with a layoff in their own way. Transparency is the most respectful approach that
management can take as it shows them the truth of the situation and explains the steps being taken and
why. I would add rather than trying to find another position within

Arabs. During this time, the British occupied the land and under their control the conflict remained
minimal. But within months of their departure, and the division of the land between Israel and the

Comparing Hume And Popper s Views On Induction
In this paper I will be utilizing Hume s writings to point out his views and compare his views with
Popper s views on induction. The first thing I am going to be doing is clarifying the problem of
induction that I will be discussing. Secondarily, Hume s issues with induction will be outlined, and
Popper s proposed solution will be detailed. Finally, the assertions that I have made, and my views on
both the issue and the solution is going to be explicitly laid out. What are the primary elements of
induction? Induction, is the name given to ... deductively invalid but allegedly good arguments. (22,

(51, Ladyman) Popper s method of devising a solution to the induction problem is by arguing that
inductive inferences do not detract from the justification of scientific knowledge. Specifically, Popper
argues that scientific knowledge is entirely independent of all inductive reasoning; this response is
heavily based on the concept that science is founded in the falsification of theories. Ladyman
comments that Popper s conceptualization of scientific knowledge is entirely deductive due to the
inferences of falsified instances. (69,

Effective Crime Management
Management of Crime 12
The Management of Crime can only be Effective
When the Wider Police Family is Utilized
Introduction
Crime is a complicated study that police forces have engaged in more in recent decades to determine
the best methods for managing its occurrence. Methods of management run the gamut from old
fashioned relational policing in which the officer gets to know a certain group of people intimately by
walking a prescribed route through neighborhoods, to the much more modern idea of containing crime
by using different technological and scientific methods. The main issue with the different modes of
crime management is that they are all effective to a certain degree, but it is difficult to determine to
what extent. There have been studies conducted to see what is the most effective means of minimizing
crime, but the general finding is that it is largely dependent on time and location. No one method has
been gauged to be completely successful, so it is difficult to know which one to use. A premise, one
that is given away by the title to this paper, is that only by using the wider police family can crime be
effectively managed. This does not mean that crime has to be contained using a family hierarchical
model, but that every member and department of a police force must be utilized correctly. This may
also seem to be a shotgun approach to policing, but it is far from it. A scientific method is employed to
make sure that every officer is used in the

and convenience stores. Because of the popularity of its brand, it has also opened a small café for walk

In order to maintain its high quality standard, Henri produces only three products: breakfast muffins,

45,000 one dozen packages of muffins for $5.50 each, 65,000 one dozen packages of cookies for
$4.75 each, and 85,000 one dozen loaves of bread for $5.25 each. When Nicole got to Jeff s office, he
motioned her in to have a seat.
Is it time for our meeting already? he asked. Where does the day go?
Who knows? It seems like one minute I m having my morning muffin and the next I m saying good
bye to everyone, Nicole said with a sigh. There s never time to get everything done. And now I get to
do the budget. Jeff started to laugh. Thanks, she muttered. I knew I could count on your support.
I m sorry. I just have to laugh at the amount of time you are going to put into something that isn t
really used anyway, except for setting bonuses, of course.
Not really used? I don t know how it s been around here in the past, but this year, at least, the budget
will prove to be a valuable tool. Nicole waved away Jeff s retort. Anyway, one way or another I have
to create one and, as you know, the process always starts with projected sales. Do you have a copy of
last quarter s results?
Yes, right here somewhere, Jeff said, shuffling papers around on his desk. Got it! he exclaimed,
waving it gently as he pulled it from under a stack of other papers. Now, what do you want to know
exactly?
Well, Andy thinks that since we

The results of the double blind randomized trial showed that there was no significant difference in those taking vitamin A from the placebo group, since values in lipid profiles and fasting profiles did not provide any justifiable evidence in vitamin A being beneficial in MS. However, one surprising result came from the CRP values, or the inflammation marker, by showing an increase in the vitamin A group in comparison to the placebo group. These various symbols appear throughout the entire piece, and they are usually disguised as objects or imagery. They allow the reader to know the characters #8217; personalities, and their true inside characteristics. These symbols also add to the major themes, which develop as the play gains momentum. In the drama, symbols play the most important role. One of the most recurring symbols is the glass menagerie itself. Seeing how time has changed for Amanda from her youth to the time presented in the play, it is plain to understand why she would try to relive her past. Amanda wishes that her life would be as simple and enjoyable as it was when she was young. She also wants to create such a happy childhood for her two children. Amanda tries to force upon her views to Laura and Tom, and in turn wants to live in the past. By rotating crops, studies have shown that it can increase the yield, lower the cost of crop production, and decrease the amount of additives needed to make a strong crop. Rotation has also been known to benefit physical properties of the soil like tilts, and bulk density, and also contribute to efficient use of plant nutrients found in soil. The organic practice of using cover crops, also known as green manure, is done to feed and provide micro flora and fauna in the soil with nutrients. Cover cropping prevents the growth of problematic bacteria, diseases, and insects by supplying beneficial organisms the foundation they need to thrive in the soil. For centuries farmers have used green manure, but in recent times it has been replaced by the use of herbicides and fertilizers. This practice has multiple benefits for the soil including soil tilth, water infiltration, and reduction of sealing. It provides erosion control, adds to the fertility of 5 the soil, suppresses the growth of weeds, and encourages the growth of beneficial insects. There are two main types of green manure, legumes and non legumes. Legumes benefit the soil by adding much needed Nitrogen, it does this by fixing atmospheric Nitrogen into a form plants can use. Non legumes recycle excess Nitrogen into Phosphorus and Potassium, two other highly need nutrients for the success of crops. The use of a cover crop does require a little planning

The initial exposition is extremely sympathetic towards Miss Gee. Since ascorbic acid is a potent reducing agent, it would become oxidised very quickly, so to reduce the chances of missing the end point of the titration, the samples used were diluted with distilled water. Before the samples were titrated they were acidified with glacial acetic acid since they would be heavily diluted. • 17. Gender Roles In Northanger Abbey And Frances Burney Everywhere we look, we see differences in race, gender, and status. Some people are held to a higher standard and are given more privilege than others. This inequality is seen today and was seen throughout the 18th century. Not many women have the courage to speak out about what happens, but two brave female authors have done so. Jane Austen wrote Northanger Abbey and Frances Burney wrote Evelina, and both novels bring to light the injustices women face. Both female authors used the negative aspect of gender roles that come along with growing up as female to show that an individual can surpass limitations and stereotypes through personal strength. Northanger Abbey is a typical romance novel that has the ending that all readers anticipate the girl falls in love with the boy and they live happily ever after. However, Catherine grows as an individual and surpasses the stereotypical characteristics of a female during the time period. The novel brings to light the gender roles that were instilled during the 18th century by using male characters that strongly enforce what is believe during that time period. Henry Tilney says, In marriage, the man is supposed to provide for the support of the woman; the woman to make the home agreeable to the man; he is to purvey and she is to smile. But in dancing, their duties are exactly changed; the agreeableness, the compliance, are expected from him, while she furnishes the fan and the lavender water. (Austen 73). Henry jokingly ... The United States also are affected by this situation. One suggestion and a major change, in order to reduce the high dependency on the fossil fuel and to overcome the problems related to the usage of fossil fuel, is to start the wide use of biofuel as the fossil fuel replacement. The second economic constraint set out by Mises was that there should be a market economy, whereby the forces in the market should be left to work freely, that supply and demand should be left to determine price rather than the government regulating this. Thirdly, free trade is seen as an essential aspect of a liberal world order, he stated that it must be free to import and export between countries, with out control by governments. Finally, there must be a free market monetary system in place, in that the government must not control either the value or the flow of money in the economy Mises also argued that, if a country s domestic economic activity was to be fully privatised, this would mean that the economic activity in that country would effectively be free from political influences, as it would not be the government controlling it. He argued that the way to attain peace and prosperity was not by governing and controlling, but rather by limiting the level of governance, and that society would naturally sort itself out. Many of the bronze copies, as well as the original plasters for this piece, have been displayed in a central position so that visitors can see it from every conceivable angle. A marvel of the creative world. The style which Auguste Rodin developed throughout his professional life can in part be attributed to his artistic education or the lack of it in any formal capacity. Rodin s choice to make his Thinking Man nude to follow in the style of the heroic nudes of Michelangelo and his Renaissance style of Sculpting. Music can display an important message in the words that are said. What seems to have been a pretty big theme across all genres is patriotism. When people think of patriotic music, they may think Yankee Doodle or Star Spangled Banner but patriotic music doesn t necessarily mean it has to mention anything about a country; it could simply describe the love and beauty of a region or to defend beliefs that we as people may have. • 29. The Tragic Hero Of Euripides Greek Literature In Greek literature, tragedies tend to have a traditional format: a tragic hero, reversal of fortune due to a tragic flaw, moment of recognition, and catharsis. In order to be considered a tragic hero, the character must be born noble, is usually a ruler, and has a tragic flaw which causes peripety. Typically, the hero s realization of self inflicted doom is what allows a release of emotions. This raises a question of who the tragic hero is in Medea. The tragic hero is thought to be Jason, however there is an argument that he has no realization that his demise is due to his own flaw which does not allow catharsis. In Euripides greek play, the audience experiences catharsis as they watch the secondary characters, Medea, Creusa, and Jason and Medea s sons suffer as a result of Jason s hamartia; striving for power. These secondary characters experience the true suffering and therefore they are what allow the reader to reach catharsis. In the beginning of the text, Jason abandons Medea for another woman. Medea feels an overwhelming sense of heartbreak and anger because she not only loved Jason but she did everything for him; she went against her father, ran away from her home, killed her brother, and helped him succeed on his journeys according to the readings of Edith Hamilton s The Quest of the Golden Fleece. Medea also makes is clear how she was a loving and providing wife to him and definitely not deserving of abandonment. And I have loved him and borne him sons; ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Firing is something that is done privately and should be kept confident between the manager and the employee being let go. If a manager is letting, someone go for the right reasons the example should be evident to the employees as cause and effect; being held accountable for their actions. If the Manager is abusing their hiring/firing authority that would affect employee morale; forced silence, uncertainty, etc. Problem Solutions The options that were covered in the group discussion I feel very informative. When it comes to releasing someone, whether it is a termination or a layoff, it was discussed if training for those types of situations would be suitable, or if one could even prepare to carry out something of that delicate nature. You can train someone how to do anything, but that does not necessarily mean it will be conducted in the manner it was taught. I think it all highly depends on the situation and the individual who is delivering the news to the employee. The author s best point is one of the best solutions; transparency. Managers should allow people the autonomy of reacting, working through, and coping with a layoff in their own way. Transparency is the most respectful approach that management can take as it shows them the truth of the situation and explains the steps being taken and why. • 44. Effective Crime Management Management of Crime 12 The Management of Crime can only be Effective When the Wider Police Family is Utilized Introduction Crime is a complicated study that police forces have engaged in more in recent decades to determine the best methods for managing its occurrence. Methods of management run the gamut from old fashioned relational policing in which the officer gets to know a certain group of people intimately by walking a prescribed route through neighborhoods, to the much more modern idea of containing crime by using different technological and scientific methods. The main issue with the different modes of crime management is that they are all effective to a certain degree, but it is difficult to determine to what extent. There have been studies conducted to see what is the most effective means of minimizing crime, but the general finding is that it is largely dependent on time and location. No one method has been gauged to be completely successful, so it is difficult to know which one to use.
