Editor's Notes

  • #3 Becoming involved. When I started e-Learning last year I was really quiet because I didn’t feel a part of a team.I was fearful and I didn’t know what to do. I now know the other students I work with, I have an idea of what to do and I usually ask someone if I need help. As an e-Learner I have used Web 2 tools, know how it feels to be a teacherof digital photography and have learnt to skype. These skills will really help me for when I go to College.
  • #4 Eager to learn new things. I'm very open to learning new things and listening to other people’s opinions and ideas when I’m working in a group. I let them have their say and I am not bossy. I’m very eager to learn new things because it will help me in the future and I will be able to teach my little brothers what I’ve learnt. In e-Learning I’m very excited and keen about learning different things…because it’s easy to learn…because it’s not a very big group so we all help each other if one of us doesn’t know what to do.
  • #5 Making Smart Choices. When a teacher gives me some work I do it and I don’t talk with my friends until I’m done or if they need help with something. In e-Learning I get my work done quickly and really easily because we don’t talk that much…unless someone needs our opinion. When I do housework I make smart choices and get it done fast so that it’s all over so I can go on Facebook and do lots of fun stuff and watch TV.
  • #6 Communicating.I love to communicate with people…writing letters when I was little…then a lot of people got home phones and started to call aunties, uncles, friends and work mates….and after that cellphones were made so you could text lots of people if you have credit…and the internet was invented so you could make a Gmail, Hotmail, Email accountand many more like Facebook.Facebook is a way of communicating at home with my family that do not live in Kawerau, so with my parents permission I talk to my cousins, aunts and uncles and my friends that I don’t see that much. It’s a really good way to communicate with lots of people….and a lot of my family have a Facebook account.
  • #7 Helping with Kindness.I’m like a rabbit very kind because if people need me for anything I’ll help them and if their stuck I’ll help them. If they have no lunch I will share my lunch and if someone needs a pencil or a rubber I’ll let them use mine. If I go to the shop my brothers will want my lollies and I’ll share. I help my brothers because if they want something from the dairy like a pie or drink, I’ll go get it for them…evenin the rain. In e-Learning if people don’t know what to do I’ll share my knowledge with them.
  • #8 Open to Continuous Learning.I am like an open door when I’m in e-learning in a group I help out and throw in my ideas and listen to other students ideas as well. When I first started e-Learning I was really quiet but now that I know what to do I feel much more safe to open my mouth share my ideas, and say what my opinions are.
