Recruitment WHAT AND WHY

  1. The recruitment process includes analysing the requirements of a job, attracting employees to that job, screening and selecting applicants, hiring and integrating the new employee to the organisation.
  2. Arises from changes in organisation and retirement policy. Arises during resignations, deaths, accidents and illness. Refers to those moments in personnel which an org can predict by studying trends in the internal and external envi.
  3. General purpose of recruitment is to provide pool of potentially qualified job candidates.
  4. 1. larger org inds rec process less problematic that small in size. 2.Recruitment from internal and external sources affects.rec from internal sources if preferred,because own employees know the org and they can well fit into the culture.. 3. Good image of org earnedd by no of overt and covert action by mgt helps attract potential and complete candidates. Mangerioal activities like good PR, rendering public service help them to earn goodwil and image that is why cheap companies attract large no of applications. 4.Better remuneration and working condition- charac of good image of job. besides promotion and carrier develoment policies of organisation als attract potential candidates. 5.cen- pesonnel office at head office performs all the function. Decen- each department conduct their owwn recruitment process.both lower level and top level staff are recruited through this process.
  5. 1. A demography is the study of human population in terms of age, sex, occupation, religion, composition, ethnicity etc. The demographic factors have profound influence on recruitment process. 2. Labor market constitutes the force of demand and supply of labor of particular importance. For instance, if demand for a particular skill is high relative to its supply, the recruitment process evolves more efforts. Contrary to it, if supply is more than demand, the recruitment process will be easier. 3. There are several labour laws and regulations passed by the Central and State Governments that govern different types of employment. These cover working conditions, compen­sation, retirement benefits, and safety and health of employees in industrial undertakings. 4. Another external factor is legal considerations with regard to employ­ment. Reservation of jobs for the scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, and other backward classes (OBCs) is the popular example of such legal consideration. The Supreme Court of India has given its verdict in favour of 50 per cent of jobs and seats. This is so in case of admissions in the educational institutions also. 5.
