1. How does the card appeal to its audience?
It’s not totally obvious who the 5target audience is but I think that it is made for adults
who want to make typical British meals that are suitable for vegetarians. Its appealing
because of the food in the recipes, they are what the majority of people like to eat, toad in
the hole and burgers for example.
What is the best aspect of the fonts used?
The fonts in the main bulk of text are easy to read and clear. The font of the title of the
cards ‘Best of British’ is in a completely different font to the rest of the cards which makes
it stand out and grab the reader’s attention. The type of font used also looks like old
English writing which is sticking with the theme of the cards.
What areas of font use could be improved?
Although the font is easy to read it is also a bit bland, by adding bits of b old or colour to
parts of it might improve it.
Is the copy clear and easy to read?
The ingredients are easy to read but where there is a lot of text on the method part, it can
be tricky to see as you have made it a smaller size in order to fit in the space.
Are there any errors?
I couldn’t see any obvious errors, partly because I couldn’t clearly read some of it.
What is the best aspect of the images used?
The images vary in size which is good, and they clearly show the recipe being shown. They
are also colourful and stand out from the background.
What areas of the images could be improved?
Some of the photos look very professional and some are scruffier looking, this is good but
would be better to have them more balanced. On the chicken tikka images you show 2
completely different looking curries? Try to make sure all images look the same so its
obvious they are the same dish.
What is the best aspect of the layout used?
I like that every recipe card has the exact same layout and is clearly part of a set, I like how
at the top of the recipe page there are how many it serves, cooking time and prep time, I
think this makes it seem more professional looking. It’s also goof that the ingredients and
method are clearly separated by the obvious gap.

2. What areas of the layout could be improved?
The images don’t stay I the same place on each recipe card, some are in the middle, some
on the left and some have them, at 2 separate sides. By putting them all in the same place
on the cards will make them look even more like a set.
Do the cards work as a set?
The cards work as a set because they all have the same look and general layout, they also
have vegetarian British meals shown.
What changes could be made to improve the cards?
I think that making sure the images are similar sizes, looks and are in the same place on
each card will improve the cards, also try to downsize the amount of text used on some of
the cards as it can be hard to read such big bulks of text.
Do you feel it meets the brief? If so why/why not?
I think it meets the brief because it is showing vegetarian meals and has a clear theme
presented throughout the cards.
Do the cards make the recipe appealing?
By having the recipes being classed as ‘Best of British’ they are appealing to the audience
well. Although you could add something on the top page explaining or describing the dish
a bit more.
Do the cards look professional? If so why/why not?
I think that parts of the card look professional, the top page is well laid out and having the
flag as the back ground makes the cards seem professional.
Do you feel this work is better or worse than your own and why?
