This document discusses the role of the Scrum Master at Raiffeisen Bank International (RBI) and RBI's transition to an adaptive organization model. It describes RBI's organizational structure with value streams, feature teams, and delivery leads. It also discusses some of the challenges RBI faces in its transformation, including differing skills and technologies across countries, balancing two-week and six-month release cycles, developing an agile mindset, and ensuring teams are focused on wildly important goals and metrics. The presenter's key takeaways are that adaptation is constant, being an effective Scrum Master is a journey that requires staying ahead of the team, and detecting and developing one's strengths in that role.
Confessions of a scrum mom Scrum Australia 2016Mia Horrigan
How to evolve from the Scrum Mom who runs around trying to fix everything to a Scrum Master Sensei that guides the team towards self organisation
In this session Mia draws upon her experiences running a Release train of 85 team members and how at an enterprise level, the Scrum Mom pattern isn't scalable.
Mia will explain that whilst the team may be successful in the short term due to the heroic efforts of the Scrum Mom and a few good individuals, this pattern will not allow facilitation of program level processes and execution and will ultimately prevent the team from becoming a self organised, empowered team.
Mia will present a Scrum Master Maturity model and elaborate on how to apply the model based on the Scrum Master's level of maturity as well as the capability and maturity of the team and the organisation.
When scaling Agile at an enterprise level, coordination and alignment across multiple teams is challenging as whilst Agile teams are self-organising and empowered, someone needs to steer the train to keep it on the tracks to facilitate program level processes and execution, escalate impediment, manage risk, and drive program-level continuous improvement. In this presentation I share my experiences of being a Release Train Engineer on a transformational project across a large government enterprise and explore the challenges and lessons learnt. In particular, I will focus on the Scrum of Scrums and how the RTE is essentially the Master Scrum Master of the Release Train and how to ensure you have Scrum Masters working together towards achieving the goals for the Train's Product Increment.

Servant Leadership for traditional managersRasmus Runberg
When teams, product development and entire organizations move from traditional processes to Agile, we as Managers, have to be prepared for it. It’s a new world where teams are self-organizing, the project has no deadlines, and we as managers are no longer Kings on the Mountaintop.
Leadership and autonomous teams are the buzz-words of today so we as managers have to go through our own agile transformation in order to survive.

Agile HR: Transforming a Human Resources Team Using ScrumSeedbox
At Seedbox Technologies, we use agile development and scrum in all our engineering teams and have the vision of becoming a fully agile company one day. To support this vision, some of our non-engineering teams are starting to adopt and adapt agile principles that will help them deliver more value for our customers, partners, and team members. Here is a kickoff presentation we created to start this transformation with one of our HR teams, responsible for driving our company culture projects. We hope this can inspire other technology (and non-tech) companies to make a similar change in their organizations.

In a few years Spotify has grown from a small startup in Sweden to a pretty big company with more than 30 engineering teams in four different development offices on two different continents. And we have no intention of slowing down. Such rapid growth carries big challenges. How can we continue to improve our product at great speed, while growing the number of users, employees and supported platforms and devices? How do we stay lean and agile when we grow from a small startup to a big corporation? In this talk we will present how Spotify is addressing these challenges. We will talk about autonomous squads, tribes, guilds, hack weeks, road managers, and a lot of other ideas we’re experimenting with.

A Very Large Enterprise Agile Transformation: Lessons Learned at SalesforceTechWell
When the agile consultants leave, how do you ensure that the enterprise agile transformation sticks, evolves, and grows throughout the organization? What challenges will you face? What support must be in place to address the challenges? Like software products, the real cost of an agile transformation occurs after the initial rollout. Salesforce.com has sustained an enterprise agile transformation for more than seven years. Mike Register shares the major challenges Salesforce faced and how they addressed them―challenges that include scaling coaching within a very large enterprise (230 teams and growing rapidly) and effectively emphasizing the foundation principles behind the practices. Mike describes what has worked and not worked during their agile journey. He enumerates the primary support structures that need to be in place to support long term enterprise agile transformation. Mike also explores the cultural and leadership aspects necessary to support large scale agile adoption that sticks.
It is the team who does all the work. Team is self-organising. Team decides and plans. So what is the role of scrum master? Is it a full time role? How is it different from a project manager? Can a project lead or manager be a scrum master? It is probably the least understood and the most abused role in scrum. Let's explore these points in details further on April 10, 3:00 PM.

The European Unemployment Puzzle: implications from population agingGRAPE
We study the link between the evolving age structure of the working population and unemployment. We build a large new Keynesian OLG model with a realistic age structure, labor market frictions, sticky prices, and aggregate shocks. Once calibrated to the European economy, we quantify the extent to which demographic changes over the last three decades have contributed to the decline of the unemployment rate. Our findings yield important implications for the future evolution of unemployment given the anticipated further aging of the working population in Europe. We also quantify the implications for optimal monetary policy: lowering inflation volatility becomes less costly in terms of GDP and unemployment volatility, which hints that optimal monetary policy may be more hawkish in an aging society. Finally, our results also propose a partial reversal of the European-US unemployment puzzle due to the fact that the share of young workers is expected to remain robust in the US.

Financial Assets: Debit vs Equity Securities.pptxWrito-Finance
financial assets represent claim for future benefit or cash. Financial assets are formed by establishing contracts between participants. These financial assets are used for collection of huge amounts of money for business purposes.
Two major Types: Debt Securities and Equity Securities.
Debt Securities are Also known as fixed-income securities or instruments. The type of assets is formed by establishing contracts between investor and issuer of the asset.
• The first type of Debit securities is BONDS. Bonds are issued by corporations and government (both local and national government).
• The second important type of Debit security is NOTES. Apart from similarities associated with notes and bonds, notes have shorter term maturity.
• The 3rd important type of Debit security is TRESURY BILLS. These securities have short-term ranging from three months, six months, and one year. Issuer of such securities are governments.
• Above discussed debit securities are mostly issued by governments and corporations. CERTIFICATE OF DEPOSITS CDs are issued by Banks and Financial Institutions. Risk factor associated with CDs gets reduced when issued by reputable institutions or Banks.
Following are the risk attached with debt securities: Credit risk, interest rate risk and currency risk
There are no fixed maturity dates in such securities, and asset’s value is determined by company’s performance. There are two major types of equity securities: common stock and preferred stock.
Common Stock: These are simple equity securities and bear no complexities which the preferred stock bears. Holders of such securities or instrument have the voting rights when it comes to select the company’s board of director or the business decisions to be made.
Preferred Stock: Preferred stocks are sometime referred to as hybrid securities, because it contains elements of both debit security and equity security. Preferred stock confers ownership rights to security holder that is why it is equity instrument
Equity securities as a whole is used for capital funding for companies. Companies have multiple expenses to cover. Potential growth of company is required in competitive market. So, these securities are used for capital generation, and then uses it for company’s growth.
Concluding remarks
Both are employed in business. Businesses are often established through debit securities, then what is the need for equity securities. Companies have to cover multiple expenses and expansion of business. They can also use equity instruments for repayment of debits. So, there are multiple uses for securities. As an investor, you need tools for analysis. Investment decisions are made by carefully analyzing the market. For better analysis of the stock market, investors often employ financial analysis of companies.
