Forensic science involves the application of scientific methods and techniques to criminal investigations. It includes fields like criminalistics, which examines biological, trace, impression, and substance evidence; digital forensics, which recovers data from electronic devices; and forensic DNA analysis, which uses DNA to identify suspects. Other areas of forensic science study fingerprints, documents, insects, geology, psychology, toxicology, and more in order to gather evidence and analyze crimes.

“Mobile Forensic Van” (MFV) (Big/Small) is being launched by Gujarat
Forensic Sciences University (GFSU) and Helik Advisory Ltd which helps
in reaching the crime scene at the earliest to assist the Investigating
Officers (IOs) in identifying and collecting relevant forensic evidence
from crime scene, victims & from suspects which are the primary
sources of forensic evidence. The Mobile Forensic Team assists the
Investigating Officer in linking the crime with the perpetrator through
the forensic evidence, collected from the crime scene, victims and
suspects.

PHP Frameworks: I want to break free (IPC Berlin 2024)Ralf Eggert
In this presentation, we examine the challenges and limitations of relying too heavily on PHP frameworks in web development. We discuss the history of PHP and its frameworks to understand how this dependence has evolved. The focus will be on providing concrete tips and strategies to reduce reliance on these frameworks, based on real-world examples and practical considerations. The goal is to equip developers with the skills and knowledge to create more flexible and future-proof web applications. We'll explore the importance of maintaining autonomy in a rapidly changing tech landscape and how to make informed decisions in PHP development.
This talk is aimed at encouraging a more independent approach to using PHP frameworks, moving towards a more flexible and future-proof approach to PHP development.

Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message
Join us to learn more about this new, human-in-the-loop capability, brought to you by Integration Service connectors.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

Computational forensics concerns the development of algorithms and software to assist forensic examination.
Criminalistics is the application of various sciences to answer questions relating to examination and comparison of biological
evidence, trace evidence, impression evidence (such as fingerprints, footwear impressions, and tire tracks), controlled
substances, ballistics, firearm and toolmark examination, and other evidence in criminal investigations. In typical circumstances
evidence is processed in a Crime lab.
Digital forensics is the application of proven scientific methods and techniques in order to recover data from electronic / digital
media. Digital Forensic specialists work in the field as well as in the lab.
Forensic accounting is the study and interpretation of accounting evidence
Forensic aerial photography is the study and interpretation of aerial photographic evidence
Forensic anthropology is the application of physical anthropology in a legal setting, usually for the recovery and identification of
skeletonized human remains.
Forensic archaeology is the application of a combination of archaeological techniques and forensic science, typically in law
enforcement.
Forensic astronomy uses methods from astronomy to determine past celestial constellations for forensic purposes.

Forensic document examination or questioned document examination answers questions about a disputed document using a
variety of scientific processes and methods. Many examinations involve a comparison of the questioned document, or
components of the document, with a set of known standards. The most common type of examination involves handwriting,
whereby the examiner tries to address concerns about potential authorship.
Forensic DNA analysis takes advantage of the uniqueness of an individual's DNA to answer forensic questions such as
paternity/maternity testing and placing a suspect at a crime scene, e.g. in a rape investigation.
Forensic engineering is the scientific examination and analysis of structures and products relating to their failure or cause of
damage.

Forensic entomology deals with the examination of insects in, on and around human remains to assist in determination of time or
location of death. It is also possible to determine if the body was moved after death using entomology.
Forensic geology deals with trace evidence in the form of soils, minerals and petroleum.
Forensic geophysics is the application of geophysical techniques such as radar for detecting objects hidden underground or
underwater.[14]
Forensic intelligence process starts with the collection of data and ends with the integration of results within into the analysis of
crimes under investigation[15]
Forensic Interviews are conducted using the science of professionally using expertise to conduct a variety of investigative
interviews with victims, witnesses, suspects or other sources to determine the facts regarding suspicions, allegations or specific
incidents in either public or private sector settings.
