2. I have felt over the process, I have learnt how to use different technologies
and software's. I also learnt how to adapt to a variety of different
equipment and understanding how they are used and what they are used
for. Over the process of making the project I have used different equipment
which made it possible to produce the opening sequence to its full
potential. Here are a list of equipment I have used:
• Apple Mac computer
• Final cut- pro software
• SLR camera
• Video camera and sound recorder
• Tripod
• Word press- blog

3. WHAT I HAVE LEARNT?
Over the process I have learnt a variety of different
technologies for example how to use the filming video
camera properly and how to film using specific shots. I learnt
how to apple the 180 degrees rule, the eye line method how
to zoom in/out, recording the sound and how to focus the
shot.
I have also learnt how to use the Final-cut pro software
and edit the footage using a variety of tools. For example
adding voice over, accompaniment, merging the clips
together, add text and pictures. As well as this I have also
learnt how to add effects within the footage for example
some of the footage I have used are colour effects,
contrast, sound effects, slow motion, blur, rewind, echo,
different pitches to the audio and many more. This really
helped as it made some of ideas work. For example we
wanted to create a dream-like effect to one of the
footage, to connote towards the audience it’s a dream.
Therefore we added burr effect, some echo to the sounds
as well as changing the contracts to the colours of the
footage.

4. I have also learnt the different types of shots and how to
apply them as well as understanding the difference
between them. I used shots such as close-up, tracking
shot, establishing shots, over the shoulder shot, extreme
close-up, Mid-shot, long-shot and many more. The
understanding of the shots helped me as i knew what
shot would be best for each footage. For example
extreme close-up I used to show the reaction/ emotion
of the persons face- this helped the audience understand
the emotion the character is feeling.

5. TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES
During the process I have had some difficulties with adding differed
effects to my footage. This was due to the lack of experience and
knowledge of the software. Therefore I asked for professional helped
and we realised the footage have to be rendered before adding an
effect. Therefore next time when I came to editing, I was comfortable
and was able to do it independently.
During the prelim task we found that we have to re-do the filming
due to not knowing how to work the sounds, therefore we notice
we filmed without the sounds. However we, found it quite difficult
because we had minimal time and making sure we did exactly what
we did to the other footage.
During the process of the opening sequence I felt it was quite hard to keep the camera
stabled as well as make it look like it coming from someone's point of view. Our
intention behind this was to make it look like it from the main characters eyes, as we
wanted the audience to see his perspective of the world through his eyes. Therefore at
some points we have to use a tripod but at other we had to hand held the equipment,
keeping it very steady.

6. We also found it really hard using a variety of shots s we didn’t
want to reveal his face and show it from another perspective but
POV, until the end of the opening sequence to create an enigma;
making the audience engaged within the opening sequence.
However, later on we discovered that the footage was quite
repetitive and it was too complex for the audience to
understand the narrative. Therefore we have to use some close-
up shots of his different parts of his body, such as his foot, eyes
and hand; therefore revealing some parts of the main
characters body, connoting that he is a mystery character.
During the editing we found it quite hard finding the right type
of sound track that would fit well with the footage as well as
set the mood. We wanted to have something mellow, like a
morning song as the opening sequence is about his daily
routine, however we found some songs we’re too depressing,
and we wanted something a little upbeat as well as mellow to
set the scene.

7. MY TECHNICAL SKILLS
I’m really proud of the tracking shot of the vase falling with petals.
It was a really hard task to do, due to using the right camera and
focus; that will capture the details of the glass shattering. We
wanted to focus on the quality of the glass breaking as it connotes
the meaning of his love has been shattered and his life have fallen
apart. After a couple of tries with different cameras and vase. We
manage to figure it out, even thought the quality wasn’t as great as
we wanted it to be due to not having a professional camera, but I
was quite impress with the shot we got with the equipment we
had.
I'm also proud of the long shot of the main character
"Lucas” walking through the tunnel. This is because it
was a dark tunnel but had good lighting at the end of the
tunnel. This portrayed the idea of him coming out from
his own word, which was a dark place, into a new world
where's there's happiness, due to the light at the other
end. This is a symbolic of him forgetting about the past
and moving on- opening a new door.

8. Overall throughout the whole experience I have felt I have
learnt a lot of technical features. However I felt they were
limits to my creativity as we didn’t have a budget.
Therefore we couldn’t include extra lighting or professional
equipment such as cameras and software. Which made it
really hard for the product to look the best it possibly can
due to the lack of good sound quality, camera quality and
lighting. Which is why it was to hard to do things we
wanted to do, and had to change things around due to this
problem.
