We only gave our audience questionnaire to 16-18 yearolds,as they’re ourtargetaudience.This
allowedustobe certainwe were receivingthe opinionsof ouraudience toguarantee the video
appealstothemthroughthe use of differentfeatures.
Due to our target audience beingpredominantlyfemale byhavingatargetaudience thatisonly30%
male.We recreatedthiswithourQuestionnaireaudience byusing7femalesand3 males.The
nature of our musicvideoalsonaturallyattractsmore femalesof ourage grouptherefore itseems
practical unsure we planour videowiththe preferencesof the majorityof ouraudience inmind.

to add more narrative withinourmusicvideoto accommodate these views.

disjunction.Due tothiswe will trytomake all our scenesillustrate oramplifythe lyrics.Althoughall
the malesinour surveysaidtheydidn’tlike thisfeature we have tofocusonour primarytarget
audience andwe feel representationof lyricsinvisualsisneededinmusicvideo,asGoodwin
suggests.Alongwiththisthe performanceelementoffersamplification,whichwill allowus to
compromise withthe twogender’schoices.

moodchoice.The performance elementof ourmusicvideofocusesonthose three emotions.

The resultsforthisquestionshowarage of opinions.The majorityof peoplelikelotsof people
involvedinamusicvideobutalsoouraudience likesthe use of a protagonist.Tomake the most of
these resultsandnotignore anyopinionbothgendersagree onwe are goingto use a clear
protagonistinthe narrative andlotsof people inperformance.Ourmusicvideowill alsoinclude
scene withjusttwopeople.We thinkthata diversityinnumbersindifferentsectionswill keepthe
musicvideointeresting.
Despite the popularopinionbeingtonotinclude love inamusicvideowe cannotavoidthisdue to
the contextof our chosensong.Howeverthe narrative of oursong isn’taboutthe love elementof a
relationshipbutthe breakup,therefore theirwill be alackof physical showingof love,itisjustan

the lyricsand moodof the song.
