Question tags???
Question tags are the contracted short questions at the end of
statements.
Question tags are used in spoken English more than written
English
They are used to confirm positive or negative statements; or to
encourage a reply from the person we are speaking to.
 They are can be asked in various tenses (past, present,
conditional etc)
Positive statements…
 A positive statement should be followed by a negative question tag:
- You’RE from France, aren’t you?
- You’VE been here before, haven’t you?
Negative statements…
 A negative statement should be followed by a positive question tag:
 - We AREN'T going yet, are we?
- You’re NOT from around here, are you?
…
 If sentences contain words that have negative meaning such as hardly, rarely,
barely, never, the question tag should be definitely positive.
- You RARELY go out, do you?
- We’ve NEVER met before, have we?
