The students learned several important lessons about using technology through creating their opening film project. They used a camera and tripod to film different shot types and learned how to hold shots and create pans and tilts. They also used a computer with Adobe Premier software to edit the footage, cutting and lengthening shots, adding titles with slide in effects. The main websites used for research were Google and Wikipedia to determine the target audience and relevant content. YouTube, BlogSpot, and blogger were used to upload videos and keep their blog updated on the production process.

Question 6 evaluation
1. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of
constructing this product?
When we first started filming our opening, we were unsure about if to stick to our
original ideas with the shot types and how they should look. The good thing about
this was we could film a certain scene as many times as we needed and as soon as
we could get back to school we could look through and chose the one we thought
suited better. With the equipment we had, we adapted on how to use it correctly,
and how we could allow it to suit the scene.
We used a variety of technology and online websites to help us with the making of
our film. We started off with the research online, to know what the best way is to
portray the characters. The main websites were Google and Wikipedia, these were
used for finding out the best target audience, and analysing what is good for us to
have in our film and what is not relevant.
This is the equipment we used for the production of our opening: camera, tripod and
computer with Abdobe Premier CS6 software:
2. Within the making of our film, we used a camera, tripod and computer. This was all
done in different stages and all added to our final opening. The camera was used for
the different shot types, and how long the shots would be held on screen for. We
learned how to do a lot of different shots which involved using the tripod as well, i.e.
a pan or a tilt. The tripod was really good for the opening scene where Chloe is
walking, it is allowing the camera to stay straight, and however a lot of the time we
used hand held as we needed to add different effects.
We used YouTube for uploading the videos onto our blog, on BlogSpot. This taught
us how to successfully input videos onto our blog with no complications. Also,
blogger has been a popular thing for our use, we use it to keep everything updated
on the production of our film. Including, research, post production, analysing films
and film posters, the production of our film and everything we had to learn for the
making of our opening, i.e. the preliminary task, 180 degree rule etc. Our main part
of technology used in our opening was Adobe Premier CS6, and this was what we
used to finalise the opening. This allowed us to do a variety of things, such as cutting
and lengthening shots, add titles and give them a slide in affect. Also we could see
what shots should be taken off, and what ones should replace them.
We used Scribdand slide share to upload our shot list and PowerPoint to our blogs,
this website allowed it to be inserted onto the correct page of our blog, and come
out in the same format it was made in. I.e. the shot list came out as a list and the
PowerPoint stayed the same. This was good for our blogs because it gave our blogs a
good look to it, i.e. made it look more technical and interesting.
