Question 5 – How did you attract
/address your audience?
What we did Reason Why we chose this The Effect on the
audience
Using tension building music Audio such as music is a very important
element to change the current mood of
the audience and works to engage the
audience.
With his element
we can get he
audience engaged
in the story and will
make them want to
make the audience
watch more.
Slow motion Slowing down the footage draws more
attention to individual shots, we chose
this so that the audience pay more
attention to certain characters and plot
line
The effect this has
on the is that the
audience will be
more inclined to
pay attention.
Low angle shots In our opening we wanted to portray
power and authority, by using low
angle shots we have managed to
underline this element.
The audience will
feel that the
characters that are
used with low
angle shots are
more powerful.
What we did Reason Why we chose this The Effect on the audience
Fire arm - prop Using a gun will attract certain
audiences that are interested by
violence and love watching
shows or movies with violence
present. A gun can indicate
future action.
The audience will feel more inclined to pay attention to what
is happening with this usage. Using a gun is a very good way
to keep the audience watching as that they can see that
something is/is going to happen within the story.
Audio/Sound Affect–
Gun shot
We wanted to implement as
much danger as possible, as well
as using misen-en -scene
techniques we used audio which
is just as effective.
Audio has just the same effect as using props and costume.
The effect tis has on the audience is that it shows danger and
possible chaos and injury
Black and white The black and white editing is
commonly used in the horror
film genre which helps to show
dramatic scenes which we’ve
used this technique for our last
shot.
This will cause the audience to further acknowledge the
scene for longer, taking in what has happened. The audience
will have a better memory of the moment.
What we did Reason Why we chose this The Effect on the audience
Sound bridges Keeping the audience focused
and engaged was our main
priority. When making our
scenes we decided to add
sounds bridges to make the
transition from scene to scene
easer to follow.
Sounds bridges are useful for creating mystery within our
target audience, as well as creating a scene where there is
close attention to audio which is useful to show off
important dialogue that opens up the film.
Delaying shots,
transitions.
Delaying shots is also a good way
in increasing the audiences
awareness. We’ve used this
method of delaying slightly and
using slow motion.
Delaying these shots will show the audience elements we
want them to see which can be or important shots in the
story
Walkie talkie radio –
audio
Having walkie talkie audio in the
opening would help the
audience acknowledge the role
of the characters and to set up
the genre of the movie.
The effect on the audience would be that the audience
would understand and follow the roles and the genre.
