How did you use media technologies in the
construction and research, planning, and
evaluation stages?
Websites
 I took advantage of search engines on the internet to
conduct my research. This proved effective as I was
creating a media product to be received on the internet,
and all of the research I conducted was based on media
products that were already on the internet.
 Social networking sites were essential for conducting the
audience research I got for making final decisions, the
use of facebook, twitter, and tumblr helped me gain a
better variety of responses and a higher number.
Websites
 Surveymonkey was useful as it was an easier way to put
together a survey and then to share amongst an
audience anywhere on the internet. The link is featured
on my blog and was the influence for my final poster
 Youtube was the video-sharing website I eventually used
to upload my finished product. I had experience using
the website before and earlier on in my project, so the
process was fast and helped to share my final trailer to
my blog.
Websites
 Weebly was the website I used throughout the
researching, planning, and creative process in order to
keep an active blog running. It was hard to navigate at
first as I had only used ‘tumblr’ as a blogging site, but
eventually I figured out how to upload consistently and
with a variety of different content. Although used
successfully throughout my project, I encountered
problems when many links and sources were not
supported on this website. This hindered my progress and
limited my creativity.
Websites
 I was able to organise my work and use it as a
blog, with archives and a tagging system to
ensure easy access.
Websites
 Slideshare and Prezi were useful tools to help present my
work in a creative and non-restrictive way.
Websites
 Due to the restrictions of the blogging website I used, I
had to upload each piece of work created on these sites
with an embedded code.
Construction
 For the construction part of my film trailer, I used iMovie to
edit together video and sound clips. We hadn’t used
anything like this over the two-year a-level course, and so
it took some getting used to. Many drafts were made
before the final product was produced
Construction
 Microsoft Office – In creation of my company name and
the title card for my film, powerpoint and word were
useful tools for cropping and making small alterations to
the images.
Hardware
 Without access to a digital camera, I had to use the
camera from my iPad. This hindered my work and the
rate at which I could get the filming done, however the
camera was of good quality and I already knew how to
use it. The files were then saved to a memory stick which
helped transfer my video clips into iMovie when I had
completed the filming.
