This document discusses the use of various technologies in the creation of media coursework, including blogs, research, presentations, and video capture. It describes using Blogger to create blogs, Google for online research, Prezi for presentations, and an iPad for video filming. For each technology, it outlines the benefits, such as accessibility from different devices for Blogger or clear layouts for Prezi. It also discusses drawbacks, like limited image placement in Blogger or difficulty navigating some Prezi slides. Through using these technologies, the author learned skills like researching thoroughly and creating high quality, stable video footage.

Hamdard Laboratories (India), is a Unani pharmaceutical company in India (following the independence of India from Britain, "Hamdard" Unani branches were established in Bangladesh (erstwhile East Pakistan) and Pakistan). It was established in 1906 by Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed in Delhi, and became
a waqf (non-profitable trust) in 1948. It is associated with Hamdard Foundation, a charitable educational trust.
Hamdard' is a compound word derived from Persian, which combines the words 'hum' (used in the sense of 'companion') and 'dard' (meaning 'pain'). 'Hamdard' thus means 'a companion in pain' and 'sympathizer in suffering'.
The goals of Hamdard were lofty; easing the suffering of the sick with healing herbs. With a simple tenet that no one has ever become poor by giving, Hakeem Abdul Majeed let the whole world find compassion in him.
They had always maintained that working in old, traditional ways would not be entirely fruitful. A broader outlook was essential for a continued and meaningful existence. their effective team at Hamdard helped the system gain its pride of place and thus they made an entry into an expansive world of discovery and research.
Hamdard Laboratories was founded in 1906 in Delhi by Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed and Ansarullah Tabani, a Unani practitioner. The name Hamdard means "companion in suffering" in Urdu language.(itself borrowed from Persian) Hakim Hafiz Abdul Majeed was born in Pilibhit City UP, India in 1883 to Sheikh Rahim Bakhsh. He is said to have learnt the complete Quran Sharif by heart. He also studied the origin of Urdu and Persian languages. Subsequently, he acquired the highest degree in the unani system of medicine.
Hakim Hafiz Abdul Majeed got in touch with Hakim Zamal Khan, who had a keen interest in herbs and was famous for identifying medicinal plants. Having consulted with his wife, Abdul Majeed set up a herbal shop at Hauz Qazi in Delhi in 1906 and started to produce herbal medicine there. In 1920 the small herbal shop turned into a full-fledged production house.
Hamdard Foundation was created in 1964 to disburse the profits of the company to promote the interests of the society. All the profits of the company go to the foundation.
After Abdul Majeed's death, his son Hakeem Abdul Hameed took over the administration of Hamdard Laboratories at the age of fourteen.
Even with humble beginnings, the goals of Hamdard were lofty; easing the suffering of the sick with healing herbs. With a simple tenet that no one has ever become poor by giving, Hakeem Abdul Majeed let the whole world find compassion in him. Unfortunately, he passed away quite early but his wife, Rabia Begum, with the support of her son, Hakeem Abdul Hameed, not only kept the institution in existence but also expanded it. As he grew up, Hakeem Abdul Hameed took on all responsibilities. After helping with his younger brother's upbringing and education, he included him in running the institution. Both brothers Hakeem Abdul Hameed and Hakim Mohammed

1. TECHNOLOGY WHEN USED? WHY USED?
Blogger Research & editing More convenient, can be
accessed from any
hardware product. (iPad,
computer, Iphone)
When first starting my media coursework task, Blogger was the first software
technology in which we used to display our work. When first starting to use
blogger, I was new to the software so was unsure about how to work it, but as
more blog posts were added to my blog, I learnt more in-depth about how to
work blogger and how to comprehend certain aspects of the software such as:
embedding links (Youtube videos) and uploading images onto blogs.
The benefits of using Blogger were that it is easy to access from anywhere, it is
not a software subjected to just Apple macs for instance, Blogger was easily able
to be accsessed via smart phone, iPad, computer etc..
The drawbacks of using Blogger for me were that when inserting an image, they
are not able to move around freely, and the images are only subjected to either
sitting on the left of the page, right, or in the middle. This caused drawbacks for
me as some images I wanted in specific places (for the layout ) but I was able to
work around this and created different ideas for my layout of blogs in order to
work around the placing of images.
2. TECHNOLOGY WHEN USED? WHY USED?
Google (internet) Research To be able to research
into many media aspects
and grasp information
from online sources and
put them into my own
words in order for me to
then use the information
to help build my portfolio
After first creating my blog on Blogger, the next step was to start researching for
some of the first blog tasks. This research was found from online sources on
Google. I was familiar with using this hardware as it is a common thing and so I
had no problems when it came to finding my research on the Internet. The
drawbacks of using the internet/ Google for my research was that not all
information, which was sourced, was 100% reliable/ legitimate. This meant that
I had to research further into some aspects in order to make sure my research
was truthful and reliable. The skills in which I have developed from using this
technology is that I have needed to look in-depth in my research and make sure
all research was relevant and suitable. This means that in my research I did not
just copy and paste from online sources but I read through the information
systematically and made sure my information was to the highest standard.
3. TECHNOLOGY WHEN USED? WHY USED?
Prezi When presenting
research.
Another way to input my
information to make my
blogs interesting
I used Prezi to present some of my information in a collection of my blog posts. I
had not used Prezi before creating my media product so I was quite new to the
feature. I soon learnt how to use it and created many presentations, which
demonstrated my information in a creative and educational way such as:
The benefits of using Prezi to present information are that Prezi has clear layouts
so information is clearly and evenly distributed across the page(s). This also
makes it easier for when I am inputting information for a blog as using Prezi to
present my information makes my blog more visually interesting. Prezi also have
the capability to embed its presentations so this makes my blog look more
virtuous than just a link to a presentation slide.
The drawbacks of using Prezi are that some of the presentation slides are
difficult to maneuver around and so it takes time in learning how each part
works and how to make sure your information is inputted in a accurate order.
This links to the skills in which I have developed though, as although some
presentations can be confusing to use, I learned how to use them and this meant
I had learnt skills in the way in which the presentations are obtainable, which I
was not able to do at first.
TECHNOLOGY WHEN USED? WHY USED?
iPad Filming/ getting raw
footage
To film my shots of a
decent quality.
My iPad was used for the filming aspect of my product production. I was familiar
with the iPad and the video recording software, which is a part of the iPad so I
had no negative aspects when it came to understanding the filming software. I
had some drawbacks when filming on my iPad, these were things such as making
sure my shots were stable as I had no tripod and making sure that I had enough
storage. I was able to overcome these drawbacks and make sure that my footage
was of good quality and that I was able to film all footage without running out of
storage. The benefits of using an iPad for filming was that I was able to film
whenever I needed as I was filming on my own iPad, this meant that there was
no problems when it came to scheduling my filming as I didn’t need to borrow
4. any cameras etc. The skills developed throughout this is that I made sure to be
able to film shots which are not shaky of bad quality and this has helped me
throughout constreucting my product.
