particular social groups?
2. This particular image presents all hip hop artists as a collective, There are a variety of hip hop
artists ranging from 18- late 40’s and throughout their lives they have maintained the same
lifestyle (Particularly the older generations) which is to be quite flashy, show off their money,
fast cars, lavish houses etc.. This photo shows a hip hop character I have created showing off
his money, he has a designer belt, baggy trousers and timberlands which is also a common
fashion trait of a hip hop artist. His stance is quite laid back and scripted but he still looks like a
person not to be reckoned with and still has traits of being a gangster which has connotations
of being dangerous and violent which most hip hop lyrics are : dark; violent and raw, also
anything connected with hip hop can be quite dark. I have chosen quite a muscular model and
used baby oil to emphasize the abs and to make him look menacing and intimidating. I've
added the money purely to show the audience of the artists riches and to make tem envy
them. Also as hip hop artists like showing off large quantities of cash. He is wearing low
trousers as that is the fashion of hip hop artists and im showcasing it.
3. This image shows another hip hop character who is less flashy than the one portrayed on my front
cover. He is wearing Jordan's (shoes) a shoe brand that is particularly popular with the rap artists and
the younger crowd, especially in America where they are so sought after in some places get beat up
for them. So these shoes instantly make my character fashionable and appealing to a wide variety of
people. He is wearing tight jeans with an oversized jumper from well known brands which shows that
the artist although he's a famous figure he's more relatable because of the clothes he is wearing, they
are well known mid priced clothes which makes a difference as celebrities usually wear either
expensive well known clothes or un-known one of a kind clothing. This picture is quite deceiving as in
my contents it says about this character (yung nerbz) incarceration and this picture portrays someone
who doesn't’t look like they’ve ever been to jail.
4. This is another photo of yung nerbz but he looks completely different. This photo is quite dark and has shadowing over his eye to make him seem
dark and dangerous which is quite the opposite to his other photo. This photo has taken a different vibe and is more of a grime artist look as
opposed to a hip hop artists but within the past year or two hip hop artists have embraced the grime scene and started hanging around with and
dressing like the grime artists who look more dangerous.
