2. INTRODUCTION
Innovation can be simply defined as a “new idea, creative
thoughts, and new imagination in form of device a method. The biggest
challenge for any teacher is capturing each student’s attention and
conveying ideas effectively enough to create a lasting impression. As a
teacher, to tackle this challenge effectively, we should implement
innovative ideas that make the classroom experience much more lovable
for students .Innovation occurs through excellence in teaching by using
methods, practices and techniques often beyond the use of new tool or
technology and beyond normal pedagogical best practises.
The present material is a mathematical game named
as “Quadrilaterals and polygons Bingo”. It is interesting and students can
learn different characteristics of each polygon and each quadrilateral. Also
help students understand the rate values of quadrilateral and polygon with
this quadrilateral and polygon bingo game. This innovative work is meant
for 8th
standard students.

3. OBJECTIVES
• To acquire knowledge about different types of quadrilateral and
polygon.
• To help students to understand different characteristics and rules of
quadrilateral as well as polygons.
• To keep students to recall and remember the characteristics of
quadrilaterals and polygons.
• To understand the concept of quadrilateral and polygons by learning
by doing.
• To identify the mistakes made while studying the characteristics of
quadrilateral and polygon.
• To avoid confusion among different characteristic of different
quadrilateral and different polygons.
• To increase student interest in mathematics learning.

4. APPLICATION
The game includes a game boards and calling cards but it is
recommended for a small group setting since multiple correct answers are
possible.
The game board includes different shapes of polygon and
quadrilateral as shown below.
The calling cards contain different characteristics of each of
quadrilateral polygonal shapes drawn in the game board use of calling
cards to describe features and characteristic of quadrilateral and polygonal
shapes. Students place a button onto the shape that matches the criteria in
the bingo card. Some cards have multiple answers possible which makes
the great discussion.

5. This bingo game made to cover 25 items including
different polygon and different quadrilaterals. Also, this game contain 52
games card each contain different characteristics of quadrilaterals as well
as polygons.
The terms included are
• Rectangle
• Square
• Rhombus
• Parallelogram
• Isosceles trapezium
• Trapezium
• Triangles
• Pentagon
• Hexagon
• Nonagon
• Convex polygon
• Concave polygon
• Kite
• Up head arrow
• Octagon
• Decagon
• Trapezium
• Regular Polygon
• Irregular Polygon
This game is a fantastic way to practice the
vocabulary to reinforce important beginning concepts before a test, as a
way to use some time before break without giving “free time”.

6. Instructions:
• Decide when to start and select your goals
• Designate a judge to announce events randomly or as they happen
(teacher may be the judge)
• Cross of events from the list when announced
• First to get any line (up, down, left, right)
• First to get the four corner
• First to get all squares
• Check off events on your cards as they occur
• If you complete a goal, shout “bingo”. You’ve won !
• The judge decide in the case of dispute

7. PROCEDURES
Materials Required
1. Bingo Board
• chart (white)
• cardboard
• markers
• scissors
• glue
2. Bingo Card
• playing cards
• chart
• markers
• glue
• scissors
1) First cut a square shape in a cardboard and cover it with white chart
paper.
2) Next draw a square in the chart. Then into 6 x 5 small squares
3) on the first row of squares write BINGO and in the rest 5 x 5 squares
draw different shapes of polygons and quadrilaterals as shown below
7
8. 4) Our bingo board is ready. Now fix the bingo calling cards. Take a
deck of playing cards and stick a chart paper on it.
5) Then on each card write a property or characteristics of polygons and
quadrilateral using a marker.
6) Finally our bingo game is ready to play

9. CONCLUSION
This work helps to create interest in students and help the
teacher to teach the characteristics more easily. The material helps pupil to
remember the characteristics and there shapes easily, because pictures are
used here as a learning material. It will help the students to store the
characteristics of quadrilaterals and polygons in there memory for a long
time.
Teaching using the game is one of the most effective ways for
conveying the lesson properly to students. They are interested to play with
bingo board game. So I hope that this work will be useful and attractive.
