Here in this presentation we have presented the data of students bunking the lecturesand the various reasons because of it they bunk their class. All this is shown through a pareto diagram which was our challenge. The lessons learned from pareto
3. INTRODUCTION
A Pareto chart, named after Vilfredo Pareto, is a type of
chart that contains both bars and a line graph, where
individual values are represented in descending order by
bars, and the cumulative total is represented by the line.
The purpose of the Pareto chart is to highlight the most
important among a (typically large) set of factors.
In quality control, it often represents the most common
sources of defects, the highest occurring type of defect, or
the most frequent reasons for customer complaints, and so
on. Wilkinson (2006) devised an algorithm for producing
statistically based acceptance limits (similar to confidence
intervals) for each bar in the Pareto chart.
The PARETO diagram is one of the “seven basic tools of
quality control”
9. solutions
Volunteers should be strict in rules related to classes
Teachers should punish the students in a linent way to
stop students from bunking lectures
The students have to respect their volunteers
School authorities should also understand the point
of view of students
May be there is lack in school/college faculty or
facilities
Lack of attendance sheet should be reached to the
parents
10. lessons learned by the team
We explored our skills regarding microsoft excel
The team learned various causes and brainstorming
problems of students bunking lectures
The challenge improved teams coordination spirit
Pareto Charts are very useful tools to focus attention
and apply resources to the "big" problem
It can be used in a technical sense to try and improve a
process by eliminating defects
The challenge concluded various solutions to the
problem
