Introduction to ArtificiaI Intelligence in Higher Education

1. Q6. What have you learnt about
digital technologies from the
process of constructing this
product?

Technology I’ve Used
IMac computer
EOS camera
Video Camera
Premier Pro
After Effects
Garage Band
SoundBible.com
Freeplaymusic.com
3. Video Camera
We used the video camera to film all the shots and clips
that we were going to use. At first, we had some trouble
with inserting the SD cards however we understood what
we did wrong and we didn’t have much trouble.
The video camera was useful in recording and gave us
more ideas of the shot types we could use. Without it, we
wouldn’t have any clips. We had two 16gig memory cards
which was very good as we had many large sized files, so
we wouldn't run out, also, there weren't any problems
with filming.
4. Premiere Pro
Premiere Pro is one of the most important technologies that I’ve used as it is what brought
all the clips together and literally made the title sequence. After we filmed, we imported
the clips we were going to use into premiere pro and started putting together the
sequence. In Premiere pro, we were able to add effects onto sounds such as 'exponential
fade' which I added at the end and the beginning of the sounds to add a fade effect.
This software was very useful as we were able to edit really quick without any editing
problems. One annoying thing about premiere pro is when we had to render every clip
which took about 1 minute each.
When we were happy with all the editing and the titles (in after effects), we exported the
video and changed it into an mp4 file. We then posted that on YouTube.
5. IMac
The Imacs were very useful as we had to use them for
editing and blogging. As we edited and filmed, we had
to blog evidence of our filming and editing, and the
IMacs helped with that. This has helped in my
production as I got extra marks. If we forgot how to
use a specififc feature on a software such as premiere
pro, we could go on google and type up what a
feature does.
We used software such as emaze and prezi to publish
images of us editing and filming, which meant that we
had to go on a Mac.
I learnt how to screenshot, copy and paste. This was
useful in our evaluations.
6. Soundbible.com and
freeplaymusic.com
Soundbible.com was mainly used to find
sound effects such as footsteps, thuds and
breathing.
We used Freeplaymusic.com to find a backing
soundtrack and music that is featured in our
title sequence.
Both let us experiment with different sounds
and thus we have more of a wider range of
foley sounds in our title sequence.
These websites were really useful as without
them our title sequence wouldn’t create as
much suspense.
We had to download all of the sounds we used
into a specific mp3 file-which let us import
easily into premiere pro.
