Data Centers - Striving Within A Narrow Range - Research Report - MCG - May 2...pchutichetpong
M Capital Group (“MCG”) expects to see demand and the changing evolution of supply, facilitated through institutional investment rotation out of offices and into work from home (“WFH”), while the ever-expanding need for data storage as global internet usage expands, with experts predicting 5.3 billion users by 2023. These market factors will be underpinned by technological changes, such as progressing cloud services and edge sites, allowing the industry to see strong expected annual growth of 13% over the next 4 years.
Whilst competitive headwinds remain, represented through the recent second bankruptcy filing of Sungard, which blames “COVID-19 and other macroeconomic trends including delayed customer spending decisions, insourcing and reductions in IT spending, energy inflation and reduction in demand for certain services”, the industry has seen key adjustments, where MCG believes that engineering cost management and technological innovation will be paramount to success.
MCG reports that the more favorable market conditions expected over the next few years, helped by the winding down of pandemic restrictions and a hybrid working environment will be driving market momentum forward. The continuous injection of capital by alternative investment firms, as well as the growing infrastructural investment from cloud service providers and social media companies, whose revenues are expected to grow over 3.6x larger by value in 2026, will likely help propel center provision and innovation. These factors paint a promising picture for the industry players that offset rising input costs and adapt to new technologies.
According to M Capital Group: “Specifically, the long-term cost-saving opportunities available from the rise of remote managing will likely aid value growth for the industry. Through margin optimization and further availability of capital for reinvestment, strong players will maintain their competitive foothold, while weaker players exit the market to balance supply and demand.”
2. Introduction.
I have learnt that technology is used in many different ways in our opening sequence
which i hadn't ever used before.
3. Tripod and camera
Two of the new pieces of technology that we used was a tripod and HD camera this was used
throughout the whole opening sequence. We used these because without both of these pieces
of equipment then the production wouldn’t have worked. I found using these pieces of
equipment quite easy throughout. These pieces of equipment were used throughout for
example when we used them to film the car scenes, or with the gun shooting scene. The thing
that went well was the focusing of the camera on objects another thing that could have been
improved was making sure that the tripod was always balance on the tripod. Out of ten I will
give this a seven. If I could do it better I would improve the balance of the tripod making sure
that the balance of the bubble to level it is accurate.
4. Lighting
The new pieces of technology that we used was lighting this is important because we used this
to make sure that everything could be seen in certain lights and to balance out how the
characters and scenery looked in certain lights. I found using this quite an easy piece of tech
though often the shades of black di sometimes compromise the sequence. This piece of
technology was used throughout when filming the gun scenes. The thing that went well with
this piece of tech was the way in which the light hit objects and could be seen clearer for the
audience. The thing that could have been improved was the way in which the light was seen
on the camera on the characters faces. If this could be redone I would make sure that
everything had a good variety of light that was accurate to the characters. Out of ten I give this
an eight out of ten.
5. Premier
The new piece of technology that was used was adobe premier this was important when it
came to the final product because this particular piece of tech was used for editing. I found
using this quite easy after learning how to use it. This piece of tech was use throughout the
whole of the opening sequence because without it then the video could have not been put
together and then there wouldn’t be any final product. The thing that went well was when we
were able to add in music that fit the videos theme thriller. Even better if we made sure that all
the clips could be edited without having to re edit. If I could do it again I would make sure that
everything had been done in order instead or randomly editing. Out of ten I would give this an
nine out of ten.
6. Prezi
The new piece of tech used was Prezi this was used at points to improve work and make it look
more representative. I found using this hard to begin with but easier at the end. The thing that
went well was the way In which someone could see the work done and access it. Even better if
I made sure that it wasn’t rushed and more time was spent on the information. Out of ten I
would give this and eight.
